Now reading: Chapter 771 - 692: War Machine, Periculum3 from Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard, a Fantasy novel by Short-tailed civet.

"This guy is like a mountain." Kael gasped a few tis, "How were the giants defeated in the last war?"

"Mainly by dragging it out," Newt said, "Most giants were lured into a desolate mountain range much larger than this place, and it wasn’t until three years after the war ended that they ca out."

"What about the remaining giants..." Kael asked, "I rember there were records of giants existing, and it was Professor Dumbledore who killed them?"

"No," Newt shook his head, "If I rember correctly, it was a group of statues."

"Statues?"

"Yes, a group of statues also impervious to charms and incredibly strong," Newt said, "They appeared suddenly when the giants were about to reach Hogsade, surrounding and killing the giants outside the village."

"Were they those from the school?" Kael rembered a magic could drive the statues in Hogwarts, but only a few professors knew how to use it.

"Probably, anyway, everyone who has seen those statues says they look familiar."

"Alright." Newt turned his head and said, "The fog is dissipating fast, leave the rest to , we must solve it quickly, or it’ll be more troubleso when the fog clears."

"Just give three minutes, just three minutes," Kael said, "I was only testing the giant’s strength earlier, not that I had no way against him."

"You want to use powerful fire magic?" Newt raised an eyebrow.

"No, I have another way."

"Alright then." Newt glanced at the thinning white fog around, "Just three minutes, and then I’ll take over imdiately."

"No problem."

Kael imdiately took out a box and cautioned, "Rember to close your eyes, or you can stand farther away."

"You wouldn’t be..." Newt twitched at the corner of his mouth.

But before he could finish his sentence, he saw a scaly head peeking out from the box, and Newt hurriedly looked away.

anwhile, the Centaur Giant seed to sense so threat and began to swing his axe more forcefully.

"Go on, it’s ti for you to move!"

Receiving Kael’s command, the Basilisk darted out.

At the sa ti, Kael extended his wand.

"Wingardium Leviosa!"

The Centaur’s axe suddenly stopped mid-air, instinctively he reached out to grab it, but Kael had already controlled the axe to fly to a farther location.

Taking advantage of the Centaur’s distraction, the Basilisk had already reached his legs and bit directly into his calf.

The skin that had been invincible to Kael now seed like tofu before the Basilisk’s venomous fangs, easily penetrated.

The Centaur let out a scream and began to smash the Basilisk’s body with his fist, though the venom lethal to wizards seed to only slow his movents slightly.

Fists like heavy hamrs landed on its body, causing the Basilisk to emit a painful hiss. It released its bite, swiftly coiled around the giant’s body and climbed upwards, applying pressure constantly.

The fifty-foot-long Basilisk, even though the Centaur was the Giant Leader, couldn’t easily shake it off. Instinctively, he lowered his head, intending to pull the Basilisk off.

But in lowering his head, he happened to et a pair of yellowish eyes.

In an instant, the Centaur’s movents froze.

The white fog thinned more and more, even Kael standing at a further distance could clearly see the Centaur’s feet gradually turning gray-white, and it continued up to his ankle.

"That’s it?"

Kael was sowhat incredulous, facing the Basilisk’s gaze directly, yet he was only partially petrified... and not even truly petrified, as he could still move, albeit much slower than before, and the gray-white area stopped at his ankle.

"This is ridiculously unfair." Kael was a bit helpless, though he had anticipated this outco, he was still shocked at the giant’s tough and thick skin.

This guy was practically born to be a at shield, just standing in a row would form the sturdiest defense line.

No wonder Dumbledore and Voldemort both wanted to recruit giants; they are essentially innate war machines.

There was one last move, if it didn’t work, he’d have to use powerful fire magic.

Kael exhaled and extended his wand.

Magic Texts floated out from the tip of the wand.

The surroundings seed to suddenly beco hot and dry, tiny sparks appeared out of nowhere, dancing around Kael.

These sparks continuously gathered, transforming into a sea of flas, surging and rolling around Kael.

The blazing sea of flas seed to disperse even the dense fog, making the surroundings gradually clearer.

The Centaur struggled more intensely.

"Co back!" Kael said softly.

The Basilisk swiftly descended from the Centaur’s body and wriggled back into the nearby box.

The Centaur also tried to flee, but his petrified feet weren’t as agile as usual, compounded by the Basilisk’s venom starting to take effect, leaving him stumbling like soone intoxicated.

Kael swung his arm, manipulating the surrounding sea of flas, finally pointing his wand towards the Centaur’s direction...

"Periculum!"

The sea of flas on the verge of erupting found an outlet, rushing towards the Centaur, engulfing him.

This ti the screams were even more poignant than before, intermixed with strange roars, yet before Kael could discern its aning, the sound abruptly ceased.

When the flas dissipated, the Centaur was already lying there, completely unconscious.

Kael stumbled forward, aid the wand at his neck.

"Wait..."

"Sectumsempra!"
