Afterwards, the two followed the address to a secluded place.
"Are you sure there are Dentors here?" Kael looked around the surroundings.
The place was littered with garbage, yet not a soul was in sight despite the broad daylight. The only thing visible was a lean stray cat along the riverbank, hopefully rummaging through the weeds for fish and chips wrapping, trying to find so leftover food.
Dentors coming to such a place might end up hungry...
"I don’t know either," Cedric said, glancing down at the booklet in his hand, "but the address is indeed correct; a Muggle reported a flying black ghost here, and then Beaters confird it was a Dentor."
"Well, this Dentor is certainly interesting," Kael said, riding on his broom and carefully observing the situation below, "Do you think it’s still here?"
"It is," Cedric said affirmatively, pointing towards a large abandoned chimney, "Right over there."
Following Cedric’s direction, Kael indeed saw a Dentor hiding in the gap at the base of the chimney.
It must be said that the Seeker’s eyesight is really impressive, as the gap was missing only three bricks, yet Cedric still spotted the Dentor hiding inside.
The two imdiately flew down, and Kael lifted his Disillusionnt Charm and pulled out his wand, ready to use the Patronus Charm to force it out.
But before he could act, the Dentor suddenly flew out from its hiding gap.
Suddenly, the surrounding temperature plumted, and the stray cats scattered, screeching in fright.
"Prepare to act."
Kael raised his wand, and Cedric also brought out the Gubraithian Fire.
Yet at that mont, Kael suddenly heard a hoarse voice...
"Wizard... I surrender..."
It was the Dentor’s voice; Kael had heard it before and was certain there was no mistake.
But... surrender?
Kael and Cedric exchanged looks.
It’s not unheard of for Dentors to surrender at first sight; that’s how the Ministry of Magic handled them, but it was indeed the first ti for them.
For a mont, neither of them knew what to do.
"Kael, should we still act?" Cedric asked with the torch in hand.
"Let’s wait a mont."
Kael flew over, landing not far from the Dentor, still gripping his wand tightly.
Upon closer inspection, he suddenly noticed that the Dentor’s cloak was a bit unusual.
Most of it was tattered, but a small part was intact, albeit the color seed off, as if patched with so random cloth.
Dentors can nd clothes?
Kael found it strange; it seed familiar, yet he couldn’t recall it at the mont.
"Wizard... I know you... willing to go with you..." Dentor repeated.
"You know ?" Kael frowned, "Could it be from Hogwarts."
In his fourth year, the Ministry of Magic had sent Dentors into the school to hunt for the escaped Sirius, aside from that, Kael couldn’t think of other tis he had seen Dentors.
"Yes," the Dentor nodded, glancing at the wand in Kael’s hand, and instinctively stepped back a couple of paces, pressing tightly against the chimney.
"I did not... attack..." it continued.
Kael trusted this; they had already checked the area, and the nearest person was three miles away in an alley, and the Dentor wouldn’t find a target even if it wanted to attack a Muggle.
Of course, other scenarios couldn’t be ruled out; for Dentors, three miles weren’t all that far.
"Since you’ve decided to surrender, then co in..." Kael took out a box, opened it, and placed it on the ground.
This was his recent creation, a typical Undetectable Extension Charm suitcase, intended as a birthday gift for Harry; the space inside was similar to a broom shed, small but could still store quite a few items.
"No tricks!" Kael reminded.
Just as the words left his mouth, the Dentor wasted no ti diving headfirst into the box, even reaching out a hand to close the lid.
The box shook constantly, as if urging Kael to quickly fasten the latch.
Well...
Truth be told, neither Kael nor Cedric had ever seen such a scene.
Surrendering Dentors weren’t uncommon, but they’d never heard of one so straightforward, as though it couldn’t wait.
