When it gradually quieted down outside, Kael and a few others left the pitch-dark Knockturn Alley with Mr. Fosco.
The Death Eaters had all been captured, totaling twenty-five, which was quite a number.
It was clear that they must have had so grand sche in mind when they ca to Diagon Alley this ti, aside from abducting a few shopkeepers.
But regardless of their intentions, they were destined to fail now.
Scrimgeour was assessing the casualties among the Aurors, while Sirius and Mr. Weasley, along with other mbers of the Order of Phoenix who ca to help, were counting the number of Death Eaters and matching them with their wands.
"This truly is a great victory!" Fred said with a smile, "Thanks to your intelligence, Kael, You-Know-Who must be furious this ti."
"I told you, it wasn’t my intelligence, but a just wizard who wished to remain anonymous," Kael said seriously.
He was becoming increasingly valuable to Voldemort, and if one day the latter beca angry and ca after him personally... For the sake of his own safety, it was best to downplay so of the credit.
Kael ca to the entrance of Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour and asked, "Mr. Fosco, do you know why the Death Eaters wanted to capture you?"
"That’s what I’d like to know too." Fosco was equally perplexed. How had an ice cream seller beco a target for Death Eaters? It couldn’t be that they were after his secret ice cream recipe, could it?
Even if they were, would it be worth sending more than twenty Death Eaters after it? Isn’t that a bit exaggerated?
If they had just asked in advance, there would have been no need for Death Eaters to act. He would have willingly offered the recipe, for any flavor they wanted.
Mr. Fosco shook his head with a sigh, speechless.
Kael could see that he truly didn’t know, and he wasn’t lying.
"Alright, Mr. Fosco." Kael continued, "If you think of anything, rember to let us know right away. Additionally, to prevent another Death Eater attack, it’s best for you to find a safe place for a while.
I suggest you stay in Diagon Alley. After today, the Ministry of Magic will be increasing manpower here, so it should be relatively safe.
Of course, if you have a better place to go, that’s fine too."
"No, I’ll stay in Diagon Alley."
After an unwarranted attack, Mr. Fosco seed to have had enough, and he said angrily, "If the Death Eaters want to co, let them co. No matter what they want, I won’t let them succeed!"
"I believe you have that determination, Mr. Fosco, but you still need to remain vigilant," Kael said, before turning around and leaving.
There was still much to do in the aftermath. Capturing over twenty Death Eaters had caused quite a commotion, and the entire street had suffered varying degrees of damage.
Kael drew his wand and extinguished a nearby fla that was still burning. The bricks and stones scattered on the ground slowly floated up and returned to their original places.
Mr. Fosco stood at the shop’s door, staring blankly at Kael’s wand. Subconsciously, he suddenly rembered Olivander, who was also considered a target by the Death Eaters.
Olivander’s most famous attribute was his knowledge of wands.
In an instant, Fosco seed to have realized sothing. He reached out as if to call out to Kael, but after a mont of hesitation, he didn’t say anything. Instead, his expression turned serious, and he went back into the shop.
Kael, of course, was unaware of everything that transpired behind him.
After helping everyone restore Diagon Alley to its original state, they prepared to return to the Ministry of Magic.
With over twenty Death Eaters captured, the Aurors were bound to be working overti. Kael also needed to quickly compile a detailed report... This was part of his duties as a Senior Ministerial Assistant.
anwhile, mbers of the Order of Phoenix gathered together.
"We’ll leave the rest to you, we won’t be taking part," Mr. Weasley said to Lupin. "I didn’t have the chance to notify Molly earlier, she must be worried sick by now."
"Of course, that’s understandable," Lupin replied. "Sirius, you should head back too. I’m sure Harry is waiting for you."
Thinking of Harry, Sirius couldn’t help but smile... It felt nice to have soone worried about you, almost like being back in the days just after graduating.
"I’ll leave it to you then," Sirius said. "Make sure they don’t escape again."
"Don’t worry, that definitely won’t happen."
"Well then, see you tomorrow," Mr. Weasley said, waving his hand, "Co along, kids, let’s get ready to go ho."
"Coming, Dad."
Fred and George ran over first, followed by Bill and Charlie.
"I really hope Mom left us so dinner, I’m starving," Fred said.
"Though it would be considered a midnight snack now."
"I’m sure there’s so," Mr. Weasley said.
The group parted ways at the Leaky Cauldron, with Kael and the Aurors using the dedicated Floo Network line to return to the Ministry of Magic.
Even though it was late at night, the atrium was still brightly lit, with many people present.
As soon as they saw the Aurors return with the Death Eaters, a wave of irrepressible cheers erupted in the atrium.
Over twenty Death Eaters. Since Voldemort’s return, this was their biggest achievent, practically a sweeping victory.
Alia Bones, the head of the Law Enforcent Departnt, was the first to co over and headed to the Trial Room with the Aurors.
