Room of Requirent Classroom

"Ron, lift your wrist a bit higher—five centiters, yes, and hold your wand level…"

"Good job, Harry. You're probably pretty good at Defense Against the Dark Arts too. Slow down your casting a tad, and flick the wand tip right as you finish the incantation."

"Hermione, no surprise there—you're picking it up fast. No issues, just keep practicing."

Lucien watched the trio practicing the Disarming Charm, correcting their mistakes one by one.

Each ti they cast a spell, he studied them closely—their movents, their wands, and…

Their mana circuits.

At the center of Lucien's pupils, tiny vortexes swirled slowly, pitch-black and faintly bleeding into the surrounding irises, making his already inky-green eyes even deeper and more mysterious.

Using the thod of the Eye of Magic, Lucien had already altered his eyes.

In his current vision, the mana circuits of Harry, Ron, and Hermione were laid bare.

Every ti they cast a spell, the flow and surge of their magic was crystal clear.

By having them adjust their movents and incantation rhythm while observing their mana circuits, he could offer precise guidance.

He narrowed his eyes slightly, speeding up the vortexes in his pupils.

As expected, even when casting the sa spell, each person's mana flow was slightly different.

The differences weren't glaring, but they were there.

Beyond the flow of magic, the mana circuits themselves varied between wizards.

Lucien carefully compared the trio's mana circuits.

In his vision, their circuits resembled a great tree—roots, trunk, branches, leaves, and even fruit-like clusters of energy.

Since they were all wizards, the overall structure was similar; they had all the sa basic parts.

But in the details, the differences stood out.

For instance, Harry's mana circuit had the most fruit-like clusters, though most were dim, with only a few glowing steadily.

Hermione's had the fewest clusters, but her branches were nurous and delicate.

Ron's was average—moderate clusters and branches, but his trunk was noticeably thicker.

This was Lucien's first ti using the Eye of Magic to observe others, and he wasn't yet familiar with how mana circuit traits corresponded to magical abilities.

The Weasley family's spellbooks did ntion mana circuits, but what Lucien saw didn't quite match their descriptions.

He didn't think the Eye of Magic or the Weasley texts were wrong. It was likely just a difference in observation thods.

The Weasley knowledge focused on harnessing and developing one's own mana circuits to boost spellcasting ability, using a unique thod of sensing magic internally.

But it wasn't like Lucien's Eye of Magic, which revealed the circuits in such vivid, clear detail.

No rush, though. He could observe more people, compare them, and figure out the patterns eventually.

Hogwarts had no shortage of wizards—first-years just awakening their magic, students in their growth phase, and mature or even elderly professors. Plenty of samples to study.

For now, Lucien focused on the trio, comparing their current magical performance and what he knew of their future potential from the original story.

A rough analysis suggested that the number of clusters likely tied to total magical capacity, while the number and fineness of branches might relate to spellcasting precision.

Early on, Hermione's magical skill clearly outshone Harry's, especially since both started with zero magical exposure before Hogwarts.

Hermione's knack for learning was part of it, but later, Harry's abilities surged dramatically.

The biggest factor was likely their difference in magical capacity, and perhaps the efficiency of their magic output.

A wizard's magic grows with age, and the rate and ceiling of that growth vary widely.

After morizing the trio's mana circuits, Lucien turned his focus inward, "looking" at himself.

One nifty trick of the Eye of Magic was the ability to view his own state from a third-person perspective, making it easier to fine-tune his spellcasting precision.

He examined his own mana circuit.

Though he'd seen it before when he first gained the Eye of Magic, it still felt… bizarre.

Like Harry and the others, his circuit was shaped like a great tree.

But the sheer number of clusters and the intricate web of fine branches were almost overwhelming in their complexity.

If clusters represented magical capacity and branches spellcasting precision, it made sense—his magic and talent were exceptional.

What struck him as oddest, though, was the roots and trunk.

For Harry and the others, the roots were fixed, like those of a real tree.

But his…

They were flexible, bending and wriggling like tentacles, almost waving at him.

And higher up, the trunk's surface was dotted with… eyes?

They were faint, ethereal, without eyelashes.

What unnerved Lucien most was that when he used the Eye of Magic to inspect his mana circuit, those eyes all turned to et his gaze.

No matter how he shifted his perspective, they followed.

After a few tries, Lucien fell into deep thought.

His mana circuit… didn't exactly look human.

"Lucien, did your eye color change?" Hermione asked, puzzled, as the trio finished their practice.

Lucien blinked, snapping out of it.

The vortexes in his eyes vanished, returning them to their usual inky green.

"Must be the lighting," he said.

Seeing his eyes back to normal, Hermione wondered if she'd imagined it.

"Ron, can I ask a favor?" Lucien said.

Ron thumped his chest. "No problem, mate. What's up?"

"Can I borrow Scabbers for a bit?"

Ron scratched his head, confused. "Sure, but Scabbers mostly sleeps and eats a lot. Not exactly exciting."

He pulled the balding rat from his pocket, fast asleep.

Lucien smiled. "That's fine. I just want to try looking after a pet."

"Oh, right—co to think of it, you don't have a pet, do you?" Ron said.

Lucien didn't answer, taking Scabbers from Ron and slipping the rat into a small gourd.

"Lucien, what kind of pet are you thinking of getting? I saw the cutest cat at the Magical nagerie last ti—a ginger Persian…" Hermione started.

Lucien's mind flashed to a familiar image.

That cat? Cute?

Sure, it was ginger and Persian, but its face looked like it had smashed into a wall.

Or maybe he was thinking of a different one…
