"My dear apprentice."
Professor Terra appeared on the chair in the partitioned area of the shop in the blink of an eye.
Quirrell was unsurprised. He remained standing at the door of the partition, staring at the clock on the wall. In another ten minutes, they would be open for business.
Sean, who had been waiting for a long ti, touched his brooch:
"Professor, do you know about Soul Transfiguration?"
Professor Terra paused slightly upon hearing this. She didn't answer Sean's question directly, but instead looked at Sean's brooch with mild curiosity.
"A clever conversion, but still flawed in terms of will... Have you already begun the Animagus transformation ritual?"
The Professor raised an eyebrow.
"Yes," Sean admitted.
"Until the Animagus transformation is complete, stay close to Minerva McGonagall."
...or .
Professor Terra swallowed her last words. She couldn't help but recall that damn adoption ceremony that had happened right under her nose without her knowledge.
She felt regret even now.
"As for Soul Transfiguration... even at Uagadou, few wizards realize what their Transfiguration truly is. Even if they were once swept up by the Dream ssenger..."
Professor Terra extended a finger and tapped the air, casting several spells to prevent eavesdropping.
In a calm, steady tone, she began to recount a story that had spanned the African continent for a thousand years.
"Soul Revenant, Dream ssenger. Knowledge uncommon on the European continent, yet existing at Uagadou for millennia.
"The wizards of Uagadou believe that the soul is the most essential part of a wizard. Even a wandering soul can carry all of a wizard's magic..."
Sean looked thoughtful. This sounded like Voldemort's wraith form.
Could this explain the surprising fact that Voldemort regained his powerful magical abilities imdiately upon resurrection?
The Professor's voice continued:
"At the magic school located in the Mountains of the Moon in Uganda, Africa: Uagadou, which accepts students from all over Africa.
"Students admitted to Uagadou receive news from the current headmaster through the Dream ssenger. While the young wizards sleep, the Dream ssenger leaves them a token of Uagadou—usually a stone inscribed with runes.
"When the children wake up, they find themselves holding it.
"Surprising, isn't it?" Professor Terra said with a teasing tone.
Sean nodded. He had never heard of such a recruitnt thod... What if a student didn't dream?
"Actually, when I ca to Hogwarts and saw you using a book and a quill for enrollnt, I was just as surprised as you are," Professor Terra continued.
"Now, can you guess what the Dream ssenger is?"
"The headmaster's Soul Revenant," Sean answered without hesitation.
"A brilliant understanding! The Dream ssenger is the Soul Revenant of the current headmaster.
"It is also an animal, because in dreams, wizards only appear in animal form, allowing them to ignore ti and space.
"Dreams allow spirits, ghosts, and Revenants to move freely; distance poses no obstacle. Imdiate communication can be established between people far apart, and most of the ti, it appears as a semi-conversational state.
"I must say, it is particularly suitable for recruitnt...
"However, the appearance of a Soul Revenant always reveals certain events to the sleeper, whether imdiate or distant—such as enrollnt at Uagadou.
"This is obviously a significant event, enough to establish a dream connection.
"It is precisely during the establishnt of this connection that the wizard naturally undergoes Soul Transfiguration."
Professor Terra paused for a mont to let Sean understand the relationship between Soul Transfiguration and the Soul Revenant.
"So-called Soul Transfiguration is nothing more than the wizard transforming into their own Soul Revenant. Since the soul of both remains unchanged, it becos perfectly normal for the wizard to retain their own consciousness."
She continued:
"The reason Uagadou wizards can freely transform into animals is that they have found and mastered their own Soul Revenants.
"As for their thod of practice, I have already told you, my apprentice.
"Of course, you wouldn't be foolish enough to think simple sleep is sufficient, would you? We also need the support of certain rituals.
"Another point is that in dreams, so wizards possess more than one Soul Revenant.
"And for so wizards who are even more skilled in Soul Transfiguration, they can easily transform into any animal form. Because their Soul Transfiguration has long reached a terrifying level, no longer confined to a single animal form.
"I have only heard of one such wizard. You should know who it is."
"rlin," Sean replied.
"How should I praise you, my apprentice?" Professor Terra smiled with gratification.
"Then what about Druids?" Sean suddenly asked.
"Those ancient wizards who could transform into various animals? Oh, I don't know much about their magic. But one thing is certain.
"Magic ultimately reaches the sa destination by different paths. Perhaps they used different thods for transformation, but the principles are always connected—that is, it should all be attributed to the transformation of the wizard's soul."
Professor Terra thought for a mont before finally answering.
A noise erupted at the entrance of the Fairy Tale Workshop. Guests who had received invitations entered the shop in high spirits, gazing eagerly at the lifelike sculptures of magical beasts.
A joyful Mr. Weasley, an astonished and disbelieving Mrs. Weasley, and the Uagadou witch who had once tried to raise the price were all mixed in the crowd.
Sean, peeking through the crack in the partition door, quickly noticed them.
"We're open... Since you have an interest in Soul Transfiguration, I will procure so books for you.
"However, my apprentice. You must deeply realize one thing: to tamper with the deepest mysteries—the source of life, the essence of self—one must be prepared to face the most extre and dangerous consequences."
These were words from Magical Theory.
Sean nodded. He could understand this; after all, what could be more intrinsic to the self than a wizard's soul?
"Learning Soul Transfiguration carries extrely high risks. You should be familiar with cases of its failure.
"The Quintaped, and—"
Sean was not surprised.
Quintapeds were XXXXX-class dangerous magical beasts found only on the Isle of Drear in northern Scotland. They had permanently lost their human forms due to irreversible transformation.
But the next case the Professor ntioned genuinely surprised him.
"Maledictus."
"Maledictus?"
Sean's mature voice repeated the word.
"A Maledictus carries a mysterious and severe curse. This curse allows a person to switch between human and animal forms, but eventually, they will permanently beco an animal, unable to reverse the process."
