Behind The Spotlight Chapter 231

"I think there's nothing to say." Collin's stance was firm.

"Let hear from Griffith and Sanford first," Claude spoke for the first ti. He had known that Salvador was trying to kick him from his position, this was his way of dealing with the problem. Claude believed that Salvador and Collin had ford an alliance and made a deal, which was not entirely wrong.

If Griffith and Sanford succeeded in stealing Princess Chantal and Pulse Static, Collin and Arnold would lose their chips, which would affect their position as shareholders. It would also affect Salvador's influence.

"Letting an agent from a different departnt handle a client from an industry he's not an expert in shouldn't be allowed. It can jumble up the departnt's influence and will affect the company badly in the long run. Agents from the Film Departnt should focus on clients from the film industry, and so on. We need a clear separation."

"I agree."

Suddenly, even the Head of the Sports Departnt, Julius, slightly raised his hand. He also didn't want a situation where soone from the Film or Music Departnt acquired a promising athlete... They must transfer the contract to the Sports Departnt.

Of course, he also had another reason why he agreed. He was siding with Claude, the President of Talent Managent and Representation.

"Well, I don't agree." This ti, Salvador shared his opinion.

"An agent has the capability to determine if a person should be signed or not. Anyone in the company understands that. If the client was discovered by an agent and signed a contract with him, it ant he trusted the agent to pave a future for him and build a successful career. Collin discovered Princess Chantal, and he worked hard to give her the best opportunity. Isn't it fucked up that he must transfer Princess Chantal's contract to another person because the company says so? And if that happened, can anyone assure Collin that they will provide the sa treatnt for Princess Chantal? You see, Collin's clients beca successful because they are under Collin."

Collin and Arnold were surprised by the unexpected support. They didn't expect Salvador to defend them... Even Collin felt shy. Salvador actually praised him.

Well, they were currently on the sa team, and Salvador wanted Collin to keep his cards protected.

"I'm not talking about Collin or anyone in this room."

"You're clearly talking about Collin and Arnold. You even ntioned Princess Chantal and Pulse Static earlier."

"Not at all. I'm talking about the bad possibilities that could happen if we let amateur agents handle clients who are not part of their expertise." Sanford eyed Salvador.

"That's an outco they must accept. If they have the capability to make soone successful, then great, but if they can't, then it's their fault."

"Then let's say that Collin agreed to transfer Princess Chantal's contract to the Music Departnt. Who will handle her? You, or perhaps Griffith? It doesn't matter who. Princess Chantal will not agree unless you offer her a better contract, and that's not even a sure thing. She has worked with Collin for years and their cooperation is good. If she changes to another agent, that ans she has to adapt. Can you even assure us that Princess Chantal will be satisfied with the change? She's one of our biggest clients in recent years. If you fuck up, she might leave ANT, and that would be a major loss."

That was a possible outco if Collin transferred Princess Chantal's contract.

The Music Departnt was greedy, but they were also confident in themselves. It was true that they were experts in handling music artists compared to Collin. They could provide Princess Chantal with better treatnt and possible improvents... But all of this was just a "what if."

At the end of the day, the biggest reason why Princess Chantal signed a contract with Collin was that she trusted him. When they made an agreent in France, Princess Chantal decided to trust Collin East, not ANT.

"I understand what you're saying, Salvador." Claude slightly nodded and then looked at everyone at the eting. "But it's also true that signing a client from a different industry could affect our business structure badly. So how about we hold a vote today? Let's vote based on our shares."

"..." Salvador gritted his teeth.

'I fucking knew it. It all cos down to this.'

"I don't agree with this voting or whatever. Why do I have to transfer my client's contract to another departnt? I worked hard to get Princess Chantal to where she is right now." Collin voiced his opinion. He realized that company politics were brutal.

"Mr. East, it's true that you don't have expertise in handling a music artist," Claude answered in a calm tone.

"Then why did I succeed?"

"It's just a fluke." Griffith shrugged his shoulders.

"Mr. East, you're doing well right now, but what about next year or the year after that? You don't know many people in the music industry, and you don't have much experience. If Princess Chantal had an expert agent from the Music Departnt, I assure you that her career would further bloom. You don't want her to fail, right? Then it's the right choice to let the expert take over."

What Claude said might be true or not.

Princess Chantal might succeed once her contract was transferred, or she might fail, only two outcos.

No one could see the future.

"I also don't support this voting," Arnold said in firm opposition. He knew that their next target was him. If Pulse Static succeeded, then these greedy people would steal them away from him.

"We understand your opinion. Does that an you will abstain from voting?"

"..."

"Everyone in the conference room accounts for 33% of the company shares. Let's settle this matter today. Those who agree, raise your hands."

One by one, the executives raised their hands. Collin and Arnold had dark expressions as they watched more people raise their hands... It was torture.

"What about you, Lila?" Claude asked her.

The woman slightly smiled and glanced at Collin... She opened her mouth and said.

"I..."
