The spiral path of gold dust lifted them higher, weightless yet firm beneath their steps. Violet fire flowed along its edges, curling like living script. As they ascended, the world below dissolved into a vast ocean of shimring threads—every life, every choice, every fracture they had ever brushed against.

Tovin peered over the edge and instantly regretted it. “Nope. No. Absolutely not. That’s infinity down there. Infinity should co with guardrails.”

Marra smirked. “Don’t look down.”

“I JUST DID.”

Erian, however, looked upward. The path ended at a floating platform of dark stone—smooth, circular, and cracked like dried earth. But the cracks glowed faintly white, as if sothing beneath was trying to break free.

The Weave whispered, softer than before:

“At the heart of every fracture

lies sothing left undone.”

They stepped onto the platform.

The gold path dissolved behind them.

And the world shifted.

A windless hush blanketed the air. Above them, a massive tear in reality hovered like a wound—an open rift of swirling silver mist. Shapes flickered inside it: fragnts of ruins, half-ford figures, hints of worlds that never fully existed.

Tovin squinted. “So... this is new. Did we walk into a dream soone forgot to finish?”

Marra stepped closer to the rift. “No. These are unmade tilines. Possibilities the Weave never allowed to grow.”

Erian felt a tug in his chest—an ache he couldn’t na.

Then the rift pulsed.

And sothing stepped out.

Not a creature.

Not a mory.

A silhouette. Humanoid, but empty—made of hollow white lines that flickered like a drawing erased as quickly as it was sketched.

Another silhouette followed.

Then another.

Dozens.

Hundreds.

Tovin backed away. “Oh co on! We just dealt with emotional crystals. Now we’re fighting... unfinished people?”

The Weave’s voice resonated through the stone:

“The Unmade hunger for form.

They seek aning.

They seek you.”

The silhouettes drifted forward—silent, weightless, but impossibly fast.

Erian raised his hand, channeling golden energy. “Don’t let them touch you! If they latch on—”

One reached him before he finished.

Its hollow fingers grazed his arm.

Instantly, visions slamd into him—

A version of himself who beca a tyrant.

Another who renounced everything and vanished.

A third who died before becoming anything at all.

His knees buckled.

Marra struck the silhouette with a burst of violet force, dissolving it. “Erian! Stay with us.”

He gasped, shaking the visions off. “They’re not attacking—they’re trying to overwrite us. Replace what we are with what we weren’t.”

Tovin shuddered. “That’s worse. That’s so much worse.”

The silhouettes closed in.

Marra’s eyes blazed. “We stabilize the rift. If the fracture closes, the Unmade will disappear.”

“But how?!” Tovin yelled, blasting one with a tinker’s flare that barely slowed it.

Erian stared at the glowing white cracks beneath them.

“The platform,” he said. “It’s a seal. We reinforce it.”

He knelt, placing both hands on the stone.

Marra and Tovin joined him.

Golden, violet, and amber light flowed from their palms—threads weaving together, stitching the cracks.

The rift roared, pulling the Unmade back like a great inhale.

One by one, the silhouettes were sucked into the silver void.

With a thunderous snap, the fracture sealed.

Silence returned.

Tovin collapsed backward. “I am officially filing a complaint with the universe.”

Marra exhaled shakily. “We’re almost at the center. I can feel it.”

Erian rose, staring at the faint glow beneath the stone. “The next trial won’t be about who we were... or who we could’ve been.”

His eyes hardened.

“It’ll be about who we must beco.”

Ahead of them, a new pathway materialized—woven from pure white fire.

They stepped toward it.
