The faint heartbeat echoed again—weak, distant, but unmistakably alive.

The newborn world-thread was still inside the Devourer.

Lun rose slowly, silver light flickering like a candle in a storm.

“I can still feel it... it’s scared.”

The First Weaver faced the abyss.

“If you enter, you may not return. Everything inside the Devourer exists only as possibility. Nothing is guaranteed to remain itself.”

Erian stepped forward.

“Then we hold onto each other. That’s how we’ve survived everything.”

Marra smirked, crimson flas curling up her arms.

“And if it tries to dissolve us, it can choke on my rage.”

Tovin swallowed hard.

“Right. Group trip into a cosmic stomach. Perfect ending.”

The abyss opened wider.

Not with malice—

but hunger.

A pull older than reality, inviting anything new to be swallowed into nothingness.

Lun placed a steadying hand on Erian’s shoulder.

“We do this together.”

The First Weaver extended a thread toward them—glowing the color of origin itself.

“Take this. It will anchor you to the Weave. But know this: once inside, you cannot fight the Devourer. You must change it.”

“Change it how?” Tovin asked.

“Give it what it has never had.”

A pause, heavy and ancient.

“Choice.”

The group gripped the origin-thread—and jumped.

They plunged into the Devourer.

There was no falling.

No ground.

No sky.

Only shifting horizons of raw existence—half-ford threads swirling like storms of intention.

Colors that didn’t belong anywhere bled across their vision.

mories not their own brushed past them—

worlds that almost were, but never beca.

Tovin clutched his head.

“Feels like... like every idea the universe rejected is screaming at ...”

Erian pointed ahead.

“There!”

A dim pulse flickered in the void—

the newborn world-thread, tangled in the Devourer’s essence, struggling and suffocating.

Marra blasted away encroaching strands of unmaking.

Lun reached the trembling world-thread first, embracing it with silver light.

“It’s okay. We’re here.”

The Devourer’s voice rippled around them—

a tidal wave of longing and emptiness.

“YOU BRING WHAT I CANNOT HOLD.

YOU BRING WHAT I AM MADE TO DESTROY.”

Erian stepped forward, golden light blazing.

“No. You destroy beginnings because you’ve never had one of your own.”

Marra added,

“You’ve only ever been a reaction. Never a choice.”

Tovin’s chaotic thread flared, cutting through the void.

“Take a beginning. Take this one.”

Lun held out the newborn world-thread.

Not as prey.

But as offering.

An introduction.

A handshake.

“Don’t consu it,” Lun whispered.

“Shape it with us.”

The Devourer hesitated.

Its vast form trembled—

uncertain, yearning, afraid.

“I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO BEGIN.”

Lun smiled softly.

“That’s why we’re here.”

They guided the newborn thread forward—

slowly—

carefully—

until the Devourer touched it not with hunger

but with wonder.

Light burst across the void—

not destruction,

but creation.

The Devourer shrank—not dying, but becoming.

Transforming.

Threads knitting into a form that could choose

instead of consu.

A childlike voice whispered,

“I... am beginning.”

Erian took Lun’s hand.

Marra and Tovin joined, forming a circle.

The First Weaver’s origin-thread glowed brightly—

pulling them ho.

The void faded.

Light returned.

The chamber reford around them.

The newborn world-thread floated gently before them—

now connected to a small, shimring presence.

The Devourer—

no longer a predator—

but a guardian of beginnings.

The First Weaver approached, voice softer than ever:

“You have rewritten the oldest instinct.

You have done what even I could not.”

Tovin grinned.

“Does that an we’re Weavers now?”

“No,” the First Weaver said.

“You are sothing new.”

Lun exhaled, silver light warm and steady.

“What now?”

The newborn world-thread pulsed—

and a path of shimring threads opened before them.

Erian smiled.

“Now... we start weaving.”
