Before Zara could reply, Vella lunged, the blade slashing toward her with blinding speed. Zara sidestepped, her movents fluid as water. She countered with a swift kick, knocking the blade from Vella's hand. But Vella was already spinning, her second weapon—a garrote wire—flashing in the dim light.
