The ZETU team moved cautiously through the broken gates of the abandoned village. The scent of rot and burning wood lingered heavily in the air, carried by a cold wind that rustled the shattered rooftops. The once-quaint cottages now stood in eerie disrepair, their walls sared with dried blood and ominous claw marks.

"Eyes peeled," Captain Marcus "Iron Will" Kane ordered, scanning the area with his shotgun raised. "We're not alone here."

The faint glow of fire in the village square cast dancing shadows over the horde of undead shambling aimlessly. So wandered into walls, while others clawed at the ground, digging for nothing.

"Blaze, what's your read?" Kane asked.

Sergeant Jenna "Blaze" Hart knelt beside a pile of scorched bones. "Looks like soone tried to fight back, but they didn't last long. The fire took a few, but not enough."

"Movent near the center," Riley "Quick Shot" Bennett whispered from her elevated perch on a crumbled roof. Through her scope, she tracked a figure standing amidst the chaos—a woman wielding a torch, desperately fending off the zombies surrounding her.

"Civilian spotted!" Riley called out.

"Shield, you're up," Kane commanded. "Huntress, cover his flank."

Derek "Shield" Coleman moved swiftly, his reinforced riot shield leading the charge as he smashed through the initial wave of zombies. Detective Lila "Huntress" Navarro followed closely, her dual pistols picking off stragglers with deadly precision.

The woman scread as one of the undead lunged at her, its rotting jaws snapping inches from her face. A well-tid shot from Riley's sniper rifle sent the zombie tumbling to the ground.

"Go, go!" Kane barked, leading Jenna and Ethan "Brain" O'Connor into the fray.

The horde reacted to the noise, turning their grotesque faces toward the team. Groans grew into guttural snarls as the undead surged forward, their decayed hands reaching out.

"Blaze, clear a path!" Kane ordered.

Jenna ignited her flathrower, sending a roaring wave of fire into the advancing horde. Zombies shrieked as they were consud, the inferno illuminating the horrifying scene.

"Shield, grab her!" Kane shouted.

Derek pushed through the thinning crowd, raising his shield to protect the woman as he pulled her to safety.

"Got her!" he yelled, retreating back to the team.

The mutant leading the horde erged from the flas—a hulking brute with exposed ribs and glowing red eyes. It roared, sending nearby zombies into a frenzy.

"Quick Shot, take it down!" Kane commanded.

Riley's first shot struck the mutant's shoulder, but it only seed to enrage the creature.

"Brain, distractions!" Kane called.

Ethan deployed a drone that emitted piercing sonic waves, disorienting the horde.

"Focus fire!" Kane roared.

The team unleashed everything—bullets, fire, and explosives—until the mutant finally fell, collapsing in a grotesque heap.

As the flas died down, the woman clung to Derek, trembling.

"Who are you?" Kane asked.

"They... they're everywhere," she stamred. "You can't stop them..."

Kane exchanged a grim look with his team. The battle was far from over.
