The industrial complex lood in the distance, its rusted pipes and towering smokestacks now lifeless relics of a world that once thrived. A thick mist coiled around the skeletal remains of machinery, twisting like ghostly fingers. General Viktor "Bloodfang" Kruger advanced through the wreckage, his boots crunching over brittle bone fragnts and spent shell casings.
His crimson beret barely shifted as a gust of wind howled through the ruined structure. He was close.
The enemy had made their stand here—Wolfe's remaining forces and his undead abominations. Kruger tightened his grip around his combat knife, its blade stained from a dozen fresh kills. He would end this tonight.
Behind him, Sergeant Darius "Hellhound" Rook moved in formation, his rifle sweeping the dark corners of the structure. "Still no movent, sir," he muttered.
Kruger's lips curled into a grim smirk. "They're waiting. Let's not keep them."
They entered the complex, stepping into a vast, dimly lit chamber. The walls were lined with suspended, rotting bodies—failed experints hanging like grotesque marionettes. The stench was unbearable, but Kruger had long since stopped noticing.
Then, the silence shattered.
A guttural, distorted roar erupted from the far end of the chamber as a horde of undead soldiers erged from the shadows. Unlike the mindless husks Kruger had faced before, these moved with deadly purpose—Wolfe's personal reanimated strike force.
Rook barely had ti to curse before they attacked.
Kruger moved first. Fast. Precise. Deadly.
His blade danced through flesh, severing heads and limbs with terrifying efficiency. Each kill was a statent—an execution. Rook provided cover fire, his rifle barking in short, controlled bursts, but for every enemy they dropped, two more took their place.
Then, Kruger heard it.
The sound of sothing massive approaching.
From the darkness, a towering figure erged—a monstrous amalgamation of flesh and steel. The "Revenant"—Wolfe's last experint. It had the shape of a man, but its arms were twisted into serrated blades, its torso reinforced with tal plating, and its face… its face was still human.
A voice, distorted but recognizable, echoed through the chamber.
"Kruger… you should have stayed dead."
Kruger t its gaze. His expression didn't change. He had seen death too many tis to fear it.
"I don't die easy," he growled.
The Revenant charged. Kruger lunged forward.
The final battle had begun.
