The air inside the bunker was thick with the stench of death and damp steel. General Viktor "Bloodfang" Kruger stood motionless, his blade still wet with Colonel Petrov's blood. Yet, his eyes were fixed on the darkness beyond the corridor, where the growls were growing louder.

The undead were coming.

Kruger clenched his fists. Not again. This bunker wasn't just a battlefield; it was a relic of the past. A past he thought buried.

The echoes of boots striking tal filled the air as his soldiers, both human and reanimated, ford up behind him. Sergeant Darius "Hellhound" Rook erged from the shadows, dragging a bloodied axe behind him. His eyes burned with feral hunger.

"Orders, sir?" Rook grinned, his teeth glistening with fresh gore.

Kruger didn't answer imdiately. Instead, he stepped over Petrov's lifeless corpse and peered deeper into the corridor. The growls turned into snarls, then into inhuman screeches.

They weren't normal undead.

Then he saw them. Twisted, armored ghouls, their bodies reinforced with crude cybernetics and grotesque enhancents. Their glowing red eyes locked onto him.

Kruger's mind raced. These abominations weren't natural. Soone had created them. Petrov's last words echoed in his mind.

"You've already lost."

His grip tightened on his knife. Not yet.

The first ghoul lunged. Kruger sidestepped, slashing its throat, but it didn't fall. Instead, it swung a clawed hand, raking against his chest. Sparks flew as its tal-tipped fingers scraped against his reinforced vest.

Rook snarled and split another ghoul's skull with his axe, but the creature kept moving, even with half its head gone.

"These things aren't dying!" Rook growled.

Kruger grabbed a fallen pistol and unloaded three rounds into the first ghoul's skull. This ti, it collapsed. Headshots still worked.

"Headshots only," Kruger barked. "And keep moving!"

The bunker rumbled as more ghouls poured in. They weren't just attacking—they were herding them deeper inside.

Kruger realized the truth. This was a trap.

A voice crackled over the bunker's old intercom system. A woman's voice. Cold. Calculating.

Dr. Sylvia "Plague Mistress" Voss.

"Welco back, General," she purred. "I've been expecting you."

Kruger's eyes darkened. Voss had been working on sothing. Sothing beyond just controlling the undead.

He sheathed his knife and reloaded his gun. "Voss, if you're still breathing, I'm going to make sure that ends today."

The intercom buzzed with soft laughter. "Oh, Viktor… you still don't understand, do you?"

The walls of the bunker slid open, revealing a massive underground lab.

And in the center… a monstrous figure stirred.
