Sitting on the couch inside Prosperity Neighbourhood’s Room 1801, Wang Jie’s expression was dark. His pupils danced slightly to cover the anxiety inside his eyes. The room was luxuriously decorated. There were nad brands everywhere. A lot of the furniture was designed by masters. They were handmade and could not be replicated. It was the dream of many people to live in a house like this. However, the current owner gripped his hands together, and his nails dug into the backs of his hands so deeply that they bled.
“Who discovered it?”
An open present box sat on the coffee table before Wang Jie. There was a knife with an almost-broken tip inside the box. The body of the blade was thin. Mud and blackened water weeds stained the hilt. There was even a horrible stink.
“He has found my murder weapon, but why did he mail it to ? What else does he know? He saw killing that person!”
Wang Jie pulled on his hair, and his handso face was rather twisted. “I can’t rember. I can’t rember so many things. Why is that?”
Wang Jie let go of his hair. He slowly reached for the knife before grabbing it. The mory hidden deep inside his heart that he didn’t want to face slowly surfaced. That was his first murder. His gritted teeth slowly relaxed. Wang Jie stared at the blade he was holding. He breathed heavily as if reliving that mont. Back then, killing a human felt so much better than killing rats, cats and dogs.
“I need to find soone who sent this present and then… make him shut up forever.” Wang Jie hid the knife inside his clothes and looked around.

“I’m Situ Cheng.” Other than his na, the young man didn’t offer anything else. “Sothing scary is happening outside. If you don’t want to die, you better stay low.”

“Can’t you see? The old city and the east city are fully dark. Only the electricity supply to Prosperity Neighbourhood and Everlasting Life Apartnts has not been cut. A tragedy we don’t know about must be spreading through the city!” Situ Cheng said darkly. “I don’t know.” Situ Cheng shook his head.
Wang Jie moved away from the elevator. He gave Situ Cheng a once-over. Then, he whispered, “Have you received a red box today?”
Situ Cheng nodded. “Everyone who moves in will receive a special present. These presents might be more precious than our lives.”
As the two chatted, the number on the elevator panel turned red like it was bleeding. The number seed to stare at the two, trying to morise their faces.
“Is sothing coming up?” Situ Cheng imdiately closed the door and went into hiding. After staying there for a while, Wang Jie didn’t go ho but walked towards the stairs with his hand on the knife inside his clothes. He hid behind the door and stared out through the gap. His growth shaped his personality. He liked to use adrenaline to satisfy the emptiness in his heart. The numbers kept changing. When it was 18, all the lights on Wang Jie’s floor shut off.
Ding!
The elevator doors opened. The thing that caused Wang Jie to frown was the elevator booth was not fitted with normal light but a dark red light. He didn’t know why, but he wanted to describe the light as sticky and viscous. Sothing rolled out of the elevator.
There was a blurry silhouette in the corridor. It looked human, but Wang Jie didn’t think it was a human.
“I am a killer and a predator. That thing is different in essence from …”
The thing paused before Wang Jie’s ho. Its face stuck to the door’s peephole. The entire head tried to squeeze through the small hole. The sound of the door cracking under pressure was clear in the dark. Wang Jie held his breath. It was not necessarily safe to stay at ho!
“What is that? What is happening in this neighbourhood?”

“You two should go to this room first,” Fan Li handed the key to Doctor Lee Chengcai.

This could only an one thing: Gao Ming had entered Everlasting Life Apartnts before the investigation centre arrived.
