Now reading: Chapter 987 386: Half a Home Race (6K, Extra Update 10/15) from How Did I Become an F1 Driver?, a Sports novel by lq Lianqing.

Zhou Guanyu shook his head. "I know, but which F1 driver isn't proud and ambitious? You won't even let have a dream? And if I can't have a dream I can't even sigh about it a bit?"

"Fine, fine, whatever you say is right."

After shooting the breeze with Zhou Guanyu for a while, the two of them quickly arrived at Qin Miao's front door.

The plane had landed at nine, then they'd rushed over by helicopter, chatted on the way, plus the ti they got stopped by fans.

By the ti the two of them reached ho, it was already close to 11:30.

When Qin Miao walked up to his own front door, a very familiar sll of ho‑cooked food was already drifting out.

Even though both his mom and Qing mainly cooked Hunan dishes, the aroma of their cooking was different.

After living with them for so many years, and after picking up cooking skills himself, Qin Miao's nose could easily tell their cooking apart just from the sll.

So the mont he slled this aroma that was different from Qing's cooking, his brows furrowed. Why did it sll a bit like his mom's cooking?

A little confused and a little curious, he opened his front door. As soon as he pushed the door open, the sound of stir‑frying from the kitchen reached his ears, while Qing was sitting on the living room sofa chatting with the guests.

Looking carefully at the guests, Qin Miao realized that Leclerc and Norris, these two clowns, had sohow appeared in his ho.

Qin Miao: ?????

Seeing Qin Miao push the door open and walk in, Leclerc, acting like he was the owner of the place, raised a hand and greeted him. "Yo, you're back? Sit wherever, make yourself at ho."

Norris, sitting next to him, also smiled and greeted Qin Miao and Zhou Guanyu. "Good afternoon."

He had no idea why Leclerc was here, but seeing the guy still in the mood to joke with him, Qin Miao did feel a bit relieved.

At least it ant that the DNF in Turkey hadn't hit Leclerc too hard.

The arrival of his ho race had clearly lifted Leclerc's spirits as well. At the very least, this season he had a chance to stand on the top step of the podium in front of his hotown crowd and win the Monaco Grand Prix.

He could only hope Leclerc's ho‑race curse wouldn't get triggered again—if he DNF'd in the race, Leclerc really might cry.

But putting that aside, the doubt Qin Miao had just now was quickly dispelled by Qing.

The girl hopped up from the sofa and jogged over to him, gave him a big hug, then planted a loud kiss on his cheek right in front of Leclerc and the others before smiling and saying, "Leclerc and the others knew you'd be back at noon today, so I invited them over for lunch. More people, more lively."

The way Qing and Qin Miao interacted made Leclerc and the others roll their eyes hard.

Shaless. They had to shove dog food down everyone's throats even in front of so many people.

Qin Miao nodded, then nodded again at Norris, and finally rolled his eyes at Leclerc, not bothering with this guy.

He didn't pay attention to Zhou Guanyu either; instead, he curiously glanced toward his kitchen.

Noticing the look in his eyes, Qing just smiled without saying anything.

Zhou Guanyu was also extrely familiar with Qin Miao's place. He smoothly changed into his slippers and went to put his luggage away.

By this ti, Qin Miao had already reached the kitchen door. Through the transparent glass door, he saw a very familiar figure busy inside, just like when he ca ho from school as a kid.

"Mom?"

At first, when he saw that familiar figure in the kitchen, Qin Miao felt a bit dazed, but the feeling buried deep in his mory quickly told him this was his mom.

Hearing the noise at the door, his mom turned around. When she saw Qin Miao, a smile spread across her face. "You're back? Go wash your hands first, we'll eat in a bit."

"Got it."

Answering his mom, Qin Miao headed to his room to drop off his stuff.

When he ca out of his room after putting his things away, Qing had already tied on an apron.

Seeing him, Qing glanced in Leclerc and the others' direction.

The tacit understanding between husband and wife let Qin Miao instantly get what she ant.

Good timing now that you're back—go entertain the guests, I'll go help out in the kitchen.

He nodded at his wife and went into the living room, sitting down on the sofa.

"When did you guys get here?"

"We flew back yesterday. Rest day today, so we figured we'd co over for a al," Leclerc said with a grin.

Norris, beside him, also nodded. "Sa for ."

Qin Miao suddenly asked with a smile, "Food at my place tastes pretty good, doesn't it?"

The three of them, including Zhou Guanyu, all nodded of course. That much was undeniable.

Qin Miao smiled faintly. "So what are you going to do about your weight?"

In an instant, all three of their faces stiffened just a little.

For F1 drivers, their biggest enemy might be their weight, because if you weigh one kilo more, that basically ans your lap ti in the race will be about 0.07 seconds slower.

And at Qin Miao's place, they usually ate Hunan food, which was all about heavy oil and heavy salt.

If his mom was cooking for guests, she might consider their needs more—make more dishes that were high in protein but lighter in flavor—but when it was just Qin Miao at ho, it was all about whatever felt comfortable to him.
