"Hurry up," the burly man urged coldly.
Lin Ye lowered his head and quickened his pace.
Lin Ye was currently Level 19.
In the entire underground base, the strongest person he had seen so far was Wu Weiping, the Security Chief.

The corridor on Floor B5 was long, with cages stretching endlessly along both sides.
Finally, he reached the end of the corridor.
Ahead was an incredibly heavy alloy gate, its surface completely seamless.

The alloy gate rose silently, revealing pure darkness behind it—a void that seed to swallow all light.
Lin Ye stepped inside.
The mont he stepped into the darkness, the gate behind him slowly closed, completely cutting him off from the outside world.
His entire field of vision was pitch-black.
This was an isolated transition area leading from Floor B5 to Floor B6.
The space was frighteningly vast and devoid of any lighting. It was so still he could hear his own heartbeat.
Lin Ye’s eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness.
He saw, on the other side of the space, a narrow tal staircase spiraling down into an even deeper darkness below.
CLANG... CLANG...
The sound of footsteps ca from the darkness below.
The footsteps on the tal stairs were unusually heavy.
Lin Ye looked toward the sound.
Soon, a slender figure slowly erged from the darkness below.
She was wearing a bulky, heavy white hazmat suit that completely enveloped her body, revealing only her eyes.
But even so, Lin Ye could still make out the graceful curves of her body from her silhouette.
[Level 20]!
Lin Ye’s pupils contracted imperceptibly.
This woman’s level was higher than anyone he had seen so far.
She was even one level higher than him.
"The Doctor is waiting for you. Co with ."
The woman spoke.
Her voice was clear and pleasant.
But to Lin Ye, it sounded inexplicably odd.
It was as if many different voices had been forcibly layered and blended together.
Without another word, the woman turned and continued down the stairs.
Lin Ye followed in silence.
As they descended deeper, a pungent stench of decay washed over him.
Lin Ye was no stranger to this stench.
He had slled the sa thing in the heart of the ruined city, in that forgotten Third Hospital.
The stairs wound downwards, seemingly without end.
Several minutes later, Lin Ye’s feet finally touched solid ground.
Before him was another unlit laboratory area.
Floor B6.
The cells here were much larger and sturdier than the cages on Floor B5.
They were no longer alloy bars, but fully enclosed, transparent cubes made of ultra-high-strength composite materials, their surfaces shimring with the faint glow of energy barriers.
"Watch your step," the woman walking in front reminded him without turning her head.
"Nearly all the test subjects here are rejects from failed drug fusions. Their temperants are extrely volatile and vicious."
"Any bright light will agitate them."
"Please be considerate."
Lin Ye followed the woman, his gaze piercing the transparent walls to look inside the cells.
He saw them.
Creatures that had been injected with powerful sedatives and were now deep in slumber...
Fusion Monsters.
Each one different, twisted, and horrifying.
At so point, Lin Ye’s palms had closed tightly around two crimson elixirs.
Blood Burst Elixirs.
If necessary, they were one of his last resorts.
At the sa ti, Lin Ye had also long since drafted an SOS ssage, uploaded it to the cloud, with Chen ng as the recipient.
If he remained out of contact for more than half a day,
the ssage would be sent.
Before he knew it, Lin Ye noticed that the woman leading the way had slowed down.
She went from walking in front of Lin Ye to, gradually, walking beside him.
Then, she fell half a step behind.
She was no longer leading the way; it was more like she was... blocking his escape route.
Lin Ye noticed this detail.
But his expression didn’t change in the slightest. He still wore the sa look of nervousness and curiosity, rely lowering his head and silently continuing forward.
The entirety of Floor B6 was far larger than Lin Ye had imagined.
Within his line of sight alone, there were five full rows of enormous cells.
And the deeper they went, Lin Ye noticed, the newer and more vigorous the Fusion Monsters held here were.
The long corridor finally ca to an end.
The view before him suddenly opened up.
Lin Ye’s breath caught in his throat.
He found himself standing on a suspended tal platform.
And beyond the platform was a magnificent underground space that defied description.
The ceiling was too high to be seen, and countless thick cables and pipes hung down like giant pythons.
The entire space was like a hollowed-out mountain, or perhaps an underground silo prepared for launching an interstellar rocket.
Directly in front of the platform stood a chanical creation of unimaginable size.
It was three enormous tal pillars, with faint blue energy flowing through grooves on their surfaces.
Below the three chanical pillars was a base.
Beneath the base was a gigantic Source Crystal, the size of a truck, glowing a pure, flawless, ethereal blue!
It was like a blue sun imprisoned underground, radiating a heart-palpitatingly dense amount of source energy.
It bathed the entire underground space in a dreamlike ocean of ethereal blue light.
There was another person on the platform.
A middle-aged man of about forty, wearing glasses and a spotless white lab coat.
