A gale howled in his ears.

No, it would be more accurate to say he was outrunning the wind!

What brushed against his face was no longer the airflow, but grains of fine sand like steel needles, bringing a faint, stinging pain.

Lin Ye gained a completely new understanding of his current speed.

He hadn’t even switched to the P2 phase, let alone activated [Frenzy].

Just his normal speed in the P1 phase was already approaching the terrifying realm of one hundred ters per second.

A rough estimate.

Hardly any natural wind on this planet could keep up with him anymore.

Thoughts raced through Lin Ye’s mind.

’If I max out the [Frenzy] skill and then activate it in the P2 phase...’

’My top speed could probably reach the threshold of two-thirds the speed of sound.’

That would be an absolutely terrifying concept.

At the Vein Opening Realm, possessing subsonic movent speed ant he would beco an un-lockable god of death in the eyes of all Martial Artists of the sa rank.

’If I were to stack [Instant Body] on top of this speed...’

Lin Ye didn’t dare to imagine just how fast he would be.

In just one minute, Lin Ye crossed several kiloters.

Along the way, quite a few mbers of the Shadow Scale Race lurked in the shadows of the sandstorms and rocks.

They instinctively sensed a fast-moving life form approaching and burst out from their hiding places, attempting to launch a sneak attack.

However, all they had ti for was a short, angry, and bizarre cry.

A blurry black shadow flashed past their vision.

The killing blow they had been preparing to deliver ultimately hit nothing but air.

The fierce wind kicked up by their swiping claws didn’t even manage to touch the corner of their target’s clothing.

Several Shadow Scale Warriors stood frozen in place, their lizard-like heads and golden, vertical pupils filled with confusion and astonishnt.

The only thought in their minds at that mont was probably: ’Holy shit? What the hell was that thing that just flew by?’

A few monts later, Lin Ye felt the gale around him suddenly cease, and the swirling sand thinned out.

The view before him suddenly opened up.

A massive valley, surrounded on all four sides by steep rock walls, appeared before him.

The valley had only a single, narrow natural opening on its southern side, shaped like a giant gourd.

It was this unique terrain that allowed it to be shielded from the raging gales of the rift.

Inside the valley was a scene completely different from the desolation outside.

A clear stream trickled out from a crevice in the northern rock wall, andering through the entire valley and nourishing the land on both its banks.

So strange plants that Lin Ye had never seen before, with dark green or deep purple hues, grew tenaciously beside the stream, adding a touch of eerie vitality to this dim, yellow world.

And in the central area of the valley, Lin Ye saw a vast complex of buildings.

Those buildings were not of human design.

They were built from massive blocks of sandstone, their designs crude and primitive. Their surfaces were carved with twisted, abstract symbols, exuding the dense atmosphere of an alien civilization.

Most of the structures were low-lying with narrow entrances, resembling giant caves more than anything else—perfectly in line with the Shadow Scale Race’s preference for dark, confined environnts.

Without a doubt.

This was the tribe of the Shadow Scale Race in this fallen zone—their nest!

"GUGU GAGA!!"

Just as Lin Ye was surveying the valley, a series of agitated roars ca from behind him.

Lin Ye turned to look.

He saw eight agile Shadow Scale Warriors charging ferociously toward him from the direction of the valley’s entrance.

They must have been the sentries guarding the entrance.

It was just that Lin Ye’s speed had been too great for them to react, and they were only now catching up.

Lin Ye’s gaze sharpened slightly.

This squad of the Shadow Scale Race was completely different from the disorganized rabble he had encountered outside.

Each one of them wore crude armor fashioned from the polished bones and carapaces of so unknown creature. Although rough, it effectively protected the vital points of their torsos.

Their hands were no longer just empty claws; instead, they wielded bone spears and bone blades coated in a dark green venom.

[LV.27]

[LV.27]

...

[LV.28]

A series of level indicators appeared above their heads.

Seven were LV.27, and the squad leader at the head of them was even LV.28, one level higher than Lin Ye.

This was clearly a "regular army" of the Shadow Scale Race, an elite patrol squad.

Lin Ye held his Star-Piercing Spear horizontally, its cold shaft glinting faintly under the dim yellow sky.

The will to fight surged in his eyes.

’Perfect timing!’

’You’ll be the perfect test subjects for my new power!’

"Sismongka!"

The LV.28 Shadow Scale captain let out a roar. The eight figures instantly scattered, forming an extrely practiced formation to completely surround Lin Ye from all four directions—front, back, left, and right.

Four in the front and four in the back. They maintained a delicate distance from one another, close enough to provide support yet far enough not to interfere with each other’s attacks.

A combined-attack tactic!

The next mont, without any further communication, all eight figures moved at once!

Their speed was imnse, leaving eight blurry afterimages across the ground as their bone blades and bone spears thrust toward Lin Ye’s vital points from eight incredibly tricky angles at the sa ti!

Lin Ye lacked experience fighting against organized squads of other races. Facing this kind of pincer attack that was like a Celestial Net of Heaven and Earth, he instinctively wanted to dodge.

But he quickly discovered that no matter how he moved, there would always be at least three or four weapons locked onto his blind spots.

SHINK! SHINK!

In a flash, two bone blades grazed past his ribs and arm.
