How I Accidentally Built a Kingdom Chapter 11 - Meeting With Darvel

I’m back again for this session, now you might think that it’s a bit fast, usually I would let Daniel keep ranting and raving for another couple of sessions before I take over.

That’s exactly what you do honey, it took us seven sessions to finish the first day, and most of those sessions were done by you.

Of course I love it when you tell stories, but that doesn’t an everyone does.

So in this session I’m going to tell you about the "errands" I had to run after teaching Daniel more about magic.

The "errands" was a more personal and intimate eting that I had scheduled with our racist, and all round obnoxious innkeeper.

Of course he didn’t know that we had this eting scheduled.

And he absolutely couldn’t have expected it.

Even though he should’ve expected it after speaking to my husband in such a condescending and rude tone.

What gave him the right?!

He must have been quite a courageous elf to do that right in front of .

I know he spoke about like that too.

But that’s beside the point.

So the plan was actually to teach him a lesson, and to... convince him to listen to Daniel’s plans properly this ti.

Now I never told Daniel about this eting before, because even if I did he would’ve believed that it was his brilliance that brought Darvel around anyway.

Or maybe that it was his magnificent charm that convinced to do it anyway.

You should just keep quiet now honey, I don’t want to hear anything about how charming you are for the rest of this session.

I know you are charming, but it’s not necessary for you to interrupt the story just to point that out.

"Darkness cover , shadows conceal , so none may know my presence," I whispered as soon as I closed the door of Daniel’s room behind .

Daniel didn’t know it yet, but my affinity was darkness, and furthermore, I was one of the most skilled darkness magic users in the human territories.

There were entire kingdoms that were afraid of just my na.

Which, as you can imagine, gave quite a bit of faith, and magical power.

That’s the beauty of our world.

The more powerful you are, the more faith you tend to build, and the more faith you build, the more powerful you can beco.

Which leads to this beautiful, and dangerous ever growing system.

I walked through the halls of the inn, not worrying about being seen, heard, or even sensed. Once I use my concealnt spell, there are very few people who would be able to discover .

Generally I wouldn’t care about people knowing about my movents, even if those movents led to kill soone.

But this ti was different, Daniel wanted to live peacefully in this village, and I was going to make sure that that would be possible.

I had no intention of being the reason his business could not succeed.

To be the reason people were too afraid to beco patrons.

I also however, had no intention of letting a re innkeeper be the reason he had to worry about how he would start that business up.

I descended the stairs to the first floor, and made my way to the back of the inn, completely unseen.

Finally I arrived before the door to the bastard’s office.

I stood there for a few monts, letting my senses spread around the inn, trying to feel if there was anyone in the surroundings who might hear or see the ruckus that was about to unfold within.

When I was sure there was no one around, I reached out and turned the knob.

Unfortunately the door was locked, which I guess I should have expected.

I had sensed the bastard inside, so I knew that I had to get into that office.

Now I had never been the most patient of people, and I can admit that. I might have been one of the only assassins in this world who had never learned how to pick a lock.

My motto had always been to make a grand escape, but an even grander entrance.

So even if this situation called for a bit of finesse, and silence, there were always thods to give both at once.

"Co darkness, spread, cover my surroundings, so none may see it," I whispered my area concealnt spell.

A wave of shadow spread from , covering both sides of the hallway next to the door. This darkness will not only conceal , and my movents, but also any sounds that might escape from my imdiate surroundings.

A smile tugged at the corner of my lips.

This was going to be fun.

I took a step back, poured all of my magic power into my legs, enhancing their strength to the limit.

And with all of my might, I kicked forward.

The solid, thick, wooden door before flew off its hinges.

It made impact with the wall right next to Darvel’s desk. The door had now found a new place to be mounted.

"Well hello there Darvel, it’s nice to see you again." I said as I stepped through the now empty doorway. The smile on my lips now spread to its max.

The elf had gone as pale as a sheet of paper when he saw .

I had to do everything in my power not to laugh at his pathetic reactions.

I almost couldn’t believe that this was the sa elf that, just hours ago, had insulted Daniel and I like we were no more than common animals.

Now that sa elf was wetting himself, just because I kicked his door in.

If that isn’t a sign of false bravado, and courage, I don’t know what is.
