In Yun Feng’s heart, he was ninety percent, no, eighty five percent sure that this fierce girl was his childhood sweetheart. This girl was polite to everyone except him. That was because she had always been the one helping him when they were children and knew many of his less dignified monts.
Yun Feng turned to glare at Xin Hao. "Hmph! Your spies and informants work well. You could even dig out this secret of mine!"
Xin Hao tilted his head, his expression clearly saying, "What nonsense is this guy talking about?"
Yun Feng then turned toward his childhood sweetheart, trying to signal her with his eyes.
Save so face for , will you?
Xiao i noticed the signal and nodded.
Yun Feng also nodded when he saw the signal from his childhood sweetheart, believing that she would cooperate.
"Ahem." He cleared his throat, then asked, "If you are really my Xiao i, then tell the valorous deed that only you and I know!"
Yes. This is perfect. This will fix my image and also test if this girl is truly my Xiao i. Hmm. I am so smart that I am starting to fear my own genius, Yun Feng thought as he nodded proudly to himself.
He rembered that incident clearly, as if it were carved into his mind. At that ti, he had stood before a wolf and let Xiao i run away. In the end, even though he was injured by that wolf, he had protected her and even repelled the beast.
That mont was the first ti he had the courage to stand up for himself and the one he loved. It was the turning point of his fate.
But contrary to his expectations,
"Are you sure?" Xiao i asked, her face twisting as if she could not believe what she had just heard.
"Huh? Why?"
"Nothing. I just want to ask if you are really, really sure that you want to say it here." Xiao i pointed at the ground, indicating the place.
Of course I want you to say it here. Say it out loud. Tell everyone how brave I was. Back then, even though I was powerless, I was still able to protect you. You can say it as loudly as you want.
"Of course you can," Yun Feng said confidently.
"Then I’ll say it." Xiao i paused, then continued. "When you were about twelve years old..."
Huh? Twelve? Wasn’t I about fifteen when I saved her from that wolf? Yun Feng thought to himself, but he decided to continue listening.
"The valor that only you and I know is that you boasted that you would defeat the Phoenix King for and stop its tyranny. And you did defeat him with your bare hands." Xiao i said this, then let out a sigh.
Wait... Phoenix King? Don’t tell ...
Yun Feng’s mind began working at full speed as he tried to recall an incident related to the Phoenix King.
Xin Hao’s brows knitted together. Phoenix King? Was she serious, or was this so kind of prank? At twelve years old, this guy defeated a Phoenix King and stopped its tyranny? What kind of story was this?
He did not believe it, but his heart still grew wary. From all the information he had gathered, he knew for certain that Yun Feng was a heaven chosen, and he had already tried to overestimate him as much as reasonably possible.
But defeating a Phoenix King at twelve years old? That was still within the realm of fantasy. Still... if it were true, then... did this an Yun Feng had so kind of hidden secret? Or so kind of special power that allowed him to defeat the Phoenix King at such a young age?
That should not be possible. If this guy had truly defeated a Phoenix King at twelve years old, news of such an earth shattering battle would have already been recorded by most informant bureaus across the three provinces.
Did this an Yun Feng had defeated the Phoenix King without causing any disturbance at all, so quickly that the Phoenix King did not even have a chance to fight back?
If that were true, then... how terrifying would this guy be?
While Xin Hao was lost in awe within his own imagination, Wei Chen paused. He thought for a mont, then decided to ask to make sure.
He raised his hand. "Err... ma’am, no offense, but was it really the Phoenix King? Or was it sothing else? Like a nickna for sothing or soone? Let’s say a chicken or a goose?"
Xiao i nodded. "Of course, it was a chick... en..."
Before she could finish her sentence, a hand covered her mouth. It was Yun Feng’s left hand.
Unfortunately, Yun Feng only had one hand. He did not have another hand to hold her in place, and he did not dare use too much strength beyond that of an ordinary mortal because he was afraid of injuring her. As a result, his grip quickly slipped, and Xiao i’s head bumped into Yun Feng’s forehead.
"What’s wrong with you? Suddenly covering my mouth like that! Ouch..." Xiao i yelped. Yun Feng’s forehead was far too hard, since he was already a Core Formation realm expert.
"ii! Why? Didn’t I ask you to save so face? Why are you telling everyone about that incident? Couldn’t you tell them about the ti when I saved you from a wolf instead?" Yun Feng protested.
Xiao i was now annoyed. She had nearly forgotten that sotis this guy could be very irritating.
"But you said it had to be sothing that only you and I know! And that ti with the wolf, I ran away and called my father back in the village. The people from the village ca to rescue you. I don’t think that falls under the condition of ’only you and I know,’" she explained.
Hearing the explanation, Yun Feng was stunned. The realization slowly dawned on him.
Yes... that was exactly what had happened back then.
"Pfft..." Soone could not hold it in and burst out laughing.
"Hahahahaha! Phoenix King! Defeating the Phoenix King the chicken at twelve? Hahahaha!" It was Mo Xingyao, who had finished finalizing the discussion and ca out because she was curious.
Once soone started laughing, the laughter spread throughout the courtyard. Xin Hao bit the inside of his mouth, trying to use the pain to force himself not to laugh.
Even though this guy was an idiot, he was still a heaven chosen, so he could not blatantly offend him.
Wei Chen looked at Mo Xingyao, who had just co out. "Seriously? Can’t you save the guy so face? The man can dream, you know. Laughing at a man’s dream is very rude. What’s wrong with using a chicken and imagining it as a Phoenix King?"
Yun Feng’s face turned black and red with anger, especially when Wei Chen said it was his dream to defeat the Phoenix King.
"I an... it’s like children playing at defeating monsters, where you force your younger brother to be the monster and beat him up, only to be stopped by your father’s belt." Wei Chen tried to diate and save so face for Yun Feng, but without realizing it, the laughter only grew louder.
Yun Feng was now glaring at Wei Chen as if he had just been betrayed.
"What?" Wei Chen asked, pointing at himself as if to say he was innocent. He was only trying to help.
Yun Feng really wanted to beat this good brother of his up, but he knew that he, a Core Formation realm cultivator, could not do anything to a Void Refining realm expert. So he changed his target.
"Xin Hao! You! You corrupted my Xiao i!" He pointed at Xin Hao as if the man had stolen the only thing he cherished in this world.
"What!?" Xin Hao was stunned. Was this guy serious? He quickly tried to explain.
"What are you talking about? I will have you know that this girl’s mouth is vicious and she can be very blunt. She even stabs at with her words sotis!" Xin Hao explained.
"Even so! I still need to settle the score with you! You humiliated , burned down my house, and stole Xiao i from ! And your lackeys forced to beco like this!" Yun Feng said, his voice filled with grudge as he pointed at his right arm.
Seeing this, Xin Hao nodded. "That is true, so I will compensate you for everything I have done."
Xin Hao then clapped his hands, and one of his n ca forward with a roll of paper and handed it to him. Xin Hao took it and opened it.
"Let’s see here... I will build you a new house. How about a villa, or an estate like this one?" He pointed at the estate behind him where he was currently living but it didn’t stop there.
