Murong Wen felt a bit perplexed. He had concocted this plan because he had finally lost his patience to play nice. Even so, he still did not want to look like a bad person in front of the beauty he admired.

According to the plan, his people, disguised as random demonic path cultivators, would co to kill and kidnap so people for a sacrificial ritual. One of the kidnapped victims would conveniently be Dream Butterfly.

He had done this to avoid suspicion and any trouble that might co to him.

"We need to hurry, otherwise the City Lord Manor might get involved," Murong Wen said to his right-handed man.

The right-handed man nodded before taking out a strange bamboo whistle and blowing it. There was no sound, but the n in black all looked at each other, then retreated from their opponents and jumped into position in a coordinated pattern.

Before anyone could react, the formation path took shape at the center, and the strongest of them beca the pillar of the formation.

Then, the avatar of a 10 ters height giant Six arms Asura ford from red qi as the battle formation fully activated.

Murong Wen continued to watch Wei Chen from within the shadows. Even though the strongest of his servants had been taken out, he still had a contingency plan, and this battle formation was one of the cards he had prepared.

The Asura Battle Formation. This formation was a version derived from the demonic path. Because of this, there was no way anyone would link him to the incident.

He wanted to see how Wei Chen would die under the formation.

On Wei Chen’s side, he was stunned by the sight of a giant Asura ford from pure red spiritual qi.

Seeing this, Wei Chen’s eyes filled with envy and desire. He gritted his teeth as if he were looking at sothing he wanted but could not have.

"Wait!? Those f*ckers can combine and form into a giant robot!? I an... a spiritual qi construct!? I am so envious! I want to drive a giant construct too!" Wei Chen gritted his teeth, pointing at the construct with his face turning green from jealousy. Driving a ch had been one of his childhood dreams.

Even if this world did not have chs, he knew there were things like battle formations that could combine into a giant construct. He could settle for the next best thing by controlling this kind of construct.

But for now, he needed to swallow his envy and fight it.

The Asura construct rushed toward Wei Chen. One of its arms punched at him, but it struck only a clone ford by the Shadowless Reaper Step.

Clank! Clank! Clank! Clank! Clank!

Traceless and without sight or sound, Wei Chen struck the Asura construct from many angles, trying to find a weak point. However, with his comprehension elevated by The Samsara Sovereign’s Scripture, he understood that this construct did not have any structural weaknesses like a normal construct.

From what he had comprehended, he sensed that every ti he struck, the construct did suffer damage, but the damage was imdiately shared with the thirty or so people serving as the formation nodes. Also, every ti he hit the construct, he felt that the damage was reduced.

It was as if the construct had its own defensive parater. Any damage it received was instantly divided by thirty and shared between the thirty people within the formation.

The damage affected their collective spiritual qi, which was used to drive the construct, and the construct would draw from the spiritual qi pool of the thirty people to repair itself.

This ant the construct could continuously repair any damage he made. And due to the nature of their dantians, as long as the usage did not exceed their regeneration capabilities, he would never be able to destroy this thing.

Wei Chen thought of a way out while avoiding the construct’s attacks. He retreated slightly, putting so distance between himself and the construct so he could observe it more clearly.

The construct was surprisingly fast despite its size of more than ten ters, but it was still not fast enough to hit Wei Chen, who constantly used Shadowless Reaper Step.

On Murong Wen’s side, he watched with growing concern as the battle formation still could not land a single hit on Wei Chen.

At this ti, one of the Asura’s arms unleashed a lightning strike, but Wei Chen quickly used his Underworld Bone Claw to deflect it away instead of avoiding it, even though he could have easily dodged.

Murong Wen imdiately noticed this. He looked behind Wei Chen and found a group of helpless mortals standing there.

A smirk crept onto Murong Wen’s mouth. This fool was actually protecting a group of useless mortals.

"Tell them to target the mortals and those low-level cultivators," Murong Wen said ruthlessly.

"But young master, you might offend too many factions if you do this," his right-hand man warned.

"Would they know it is ?" Murong Wen glared sharply at him. "Do as I say!"

With that order, the right-hand man had no choice but to obey. He took out the sa whistle and blew it.

The group controlling the Asura construct shifted their target. Instead of aiming at Wei Chen, the construct imdiately moved toward the crowd.

A punch launched directly toward them. Wei Chen rushed forward and channeled all of his spiritual qi, pouring it into his Underworld Bone Claw.

"Arrrrgrgghhhh!" "No!"

The crowd cried out in panic. They tried to run, but most of them were mortals, and their feet were not fast enough to carry them to safety.

Boom!

Instead of the sound of flesh and bone being crushed, a thunderous impact rang out. The Asura construct’s fist was blocked by the bony hand of a reaper in a cowl. The image of the reaper was so lifelike that it even frightened the people inside the Asura construct.

A five-ter-tall reaper avatar stood behind Wei Chen, glaring defiantly at the Asura. Its white bone claws from both hands guarded Wei Chen like a strong cage blocking a shark’s bite.

Wei Chen gritted his teeth. His arms felt as if they had been struck by police batons, aching and numb.

"Damn it, this damned formation really amplifies both their power and their defense," Wei Chen muttered under his breath.

"Tha... thank you..." one of the mortals said, but Wei Chen glared at him.

"Run away, damn it! What the hell are you waiting for!?" Wei Chen roared, shooing the mortals away from the battlefield.

On Murong Wen’s side, seeing that his plan was working, he quickly instructed his right-hand man.

"Tell them to pursue those useless mortals. I want that fool to block the Asura Battle Formation’s attack a few more tis."

"Yes, young master," the right-hand man replied and began relaying the order to the team within the Asura construct.

With the command, the Asura construct turned toward the group of mortals who were running away.

Wei Chen noticed this and quickly vanished, shifting his stance from defense to attack. Since arriving in this world, he had never used the full power of the Underworld Bone Claw, not even against the elder of the Heaven’s Spire Sanctuary.

Back then, his cultivation was not high enough to use its full power.

But now, his cultivation was barely sufficient to activate it.

"Seal... unleashed." Two words left Wei Chen’s mouth. The avatar of death behind him transford into a giant more than ten ters tall with long arms that reached down toward its lower legs. Each claw was massive, sharp, and curved like a scythe.

The robe and shawl of the avatar of death opened wide, yet there was nothing inside the robe, only dense and powerful underworld qi forming a humanoid shape.

The aura of death emanating from the avatar was so overwhelming that even onlookers felt their breath stiffen, despite the fact that the pressure and qi were not aid at them.

"What... what is that thing?" Murong Wen uttered in disbelief. This was the first ti he had seen anything like it.

He had fought demonic path cultivators before, but his heart had never felt dread like this. He had seen evil qi, blood qi, even death qi from demonic cultivators, but he had never felt qi with the authority of the underworld like this.

Make no mistake, even though death qi and underworld qi were similar, the difference in power and level was like comparing a civilian car to a battlefield tank.

And that tank was the underworld qi, which possessed the power to suppress all evil qi and even death qi.

Wei Chen’s hands were covered with gauntlet-like constructs. He could feel his spiritual qi burning at an alarming rate with every passing second that he maintained the seal of the Underworld Bone Claw.

The avatar of death raised both of its hands before rushing toward the Asura construct.

Whoosh!

The claws descended, swiping down toward the construct. The Asura raised all of its arms to guard. The claws of the avatar of death created long trails of underworld qi as they fell.
