Shen Changqing didn’t go to Mountain-Breaking City but instead headed to South Sea City.
Seeing his return, Yun Venerable’s face instantly showed a look of profound relief.
"Defender Shen has finally returned!"
He had been constantly monitoring Shen Changqing’s movents. He had no choice; Shen Changqing had gone pursuing a Great Demon, and nothing could be allowed to go wrong. If Shen Changqing hadn’t been able to return, then South Nether Prefecture would have faced a severe crisis. For this reason, Yun Venerable had even visited the site where Shen Changqing had battled Wang Mubai. The terrifying aftermath still lingered, but not many traces remained. He could only deduce that after their clash, the two had left the area.
Subsequently, a continuous stream of ssages from the Heavenly Inspection Guard inford Yun Venerable that Shen Changqing had driven Wang Mubai out of South Nether Prefecture. However, he couldn’t be entirely certain about what transpired afterward.
Now, Shen Changqing’s return indicated that the Great Demon problem had been resolved.
Shen Changqing nodded. "How are things in South Sea City now?"
As he spoke, he glanced at the projection of the Star Plate. The red dots displayed there had dwindled to just a few. Moreover, those red dots were very faint, indicating that the Demon Evils were not strong.
Yun Venerable reported, "Currently, within the jurisdiction of South Sea City, all Resentnt Level and above Demon Evils have been completely eradicated. As for Ghostly Level Fiends, so still remain, but they no longer pose a significant problem. Given the Demon-Subduing Division a little more ti, I believe we can exterminate all remaining Demon Evils. By then, not a single Demon Evil will plague our South Sea City jurisdiction."
Reaching this point, his face filled with emotion. To exterminate all Demon Evils and maintain stability in their jurisdiction—this had been the long-standing wish of South Sea City’s Demon-Subduing Division. However, exterminating Demon Evils was easy; eradicating them completely was difficult. If so Demon Evils remained hidden, never revealing any clues, it wasn’t easy for the Demon-Subduing Division to find them. Because of this, the Demon-Subduing Division needed to remain constantly vigilant against various threats to prevent Demon Evils from causing harm. If not dealt with promptly, it could lead to heavy casualties among the Human Clan.
But now, with the Star Plate, everything was different. Any Demon Evil entering the Star Plate’s range would be detected, allowing the Demon-Subduing Division to mobilize forces and suppress it imdiately. It could be said that while the Demon-Subduing Division could not completely prevent the appearance of Demon Evils, it now had absolute confidence in suppressing them the mont they appeared. The ergence of the Star Plate, to put it bluntly, had completely changed how Great Qin previously dealt with Demon Evils.
"Good." Shen Changqing looked at the Star Plate projection and nodded. "Once all Demon Evils are exterminated—I may not be responsible for other prefectures, but for South Nether Prefecture—I don’t want to see any more Demon Evils appear outside the Demon-Subduing Prison. Furthermore, once the Demon-Subduing Prison is constructed, if any more Demon Evils appear, prioritize capture over extermination. Killing should be the last resort."
Now that the Demon Evils in South Sea City’s jurisdiction have been nearly eradicated, the other two jurisdictions should be in a similar state, Shen Changqing thought. With the Demon Evils being wiped out, obtaining Slaughter Value will beco more challenging for in the future. Nevertheless, truth be told, the difficulty in acquiring it hasn’t increased by much. After all, even if the Demon Evils within Great Qin’s borders are eradicated, Demon Evils still ravage the lands outside. Obtaining Slaughter Value is still not a problem. Moreover, even with the Star Plate’s ergence, the Demon Evil Clan won’t easily give up on Great Qin. The nature of the Demon Evil problem will rely shift from internal chaos to external confrontation. The Demon Evil problem is not truly resolved.
Yun Venerable asked in a deep voice, "What about Wang Mubai now?"
He thought of that Great Demon.
Shen Changqing replied with a calm expression, "Barring any accidents, Wang Mubai has already left Great Qin. He’s seriously injured and won’t re-enter Great Qin’s territory for so ti. We don’t need to worry too much about this Great Demon. When I achieve my next breakthrough, he will not escape death."
He too wanted to kill Wang Mubai, but his current strength didn’t permit it. However, as long as my Divine Soul makes another breakthrough, allowing to further rge with the Divine Heaven Golden Body, then, barring any accidents, I could thrash him soundly. The only problem right now is how to rapidly enhance my Divine Soul.
Shen Changqing had already made his decision. Once matters in South Sea City are settled, I will venture into the Ancient Ruins with Yi Ning. Not for anything else, but solely to find a way to enhance my Divine Soul. If I can’t, then I can only follow the old path: slaughtering a large number of Demon Evils to strengthen my Divine Soul.
Hearing this, Yun Venerable was not surprised. The idea of exterminating a Great Demon would sound laughable coming from anyone else, but when Shen Changqing said it, his words inspired belief. After all, he possessed the strength to back them up. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to chase Wang Mubai all over the place. This feat alone was sothing others could not accomplish.
Afterward, Shen Changqing continued, "Now that the Star Plate has appeared, after a round of cleansing, the Demon Evils inside Great Qin should be almost completely extinct. Neither the Eternal Alliance nor the Demon Evil Clan will find it easy to infiltrate Great Qin. With that, Great Qin’s battlefront against the Demon Evil Clan will have to shift from internal to external. Given that South Nether Prefecture is on the border of Great Qin, the ensuing pressure won’t be small."
With the ergence of the Star Plate, there’s no place for Demon Evils to hide. Although I can’t be sure if the Star Plate will always be effective, its recent appearance must have caught the Demon Evil Clan off guard. Developing a way to shield against the Star Plate won’t happen quickly.
