Upon hearing this, Shen Changqing shook his head with a chuckle, "Elder Lu, you're overthinking. This is exactly how researchers should be."
"Has Lord Defender seen a place similar to the Demon Sealing Hall?" Lu Yuan asked with a hint of curiosity.
Realizing his slip of the tongue, Shen Changqing shook his head in denial. "I've never seen one before, but I had so expectations about the Demon Sealing Hall. It doesn't differ much from what I had imagined."
"So, that's how it is." Lu Yuan nodded in understanding and then continued, "This is only a part of the Demon Sealing Hall. The true core is actually below."
"Below?"
"Please follow , Lord Defender."
Following Lu Yuan, Shen Changqing walked towards a hidden entrance where a staircase led underground. Upon reaching the bottom, a thick Yin Evil Aura assaulted their senses. Buildings resembling prison cells appeared in his field of view.
Within those cells, many were empty, but so held living Demon Evils. Each Demon Evil's body was suppressed by Demon Sealing Nails. Researchers used sharp tools to slice off bits of flesh and also employed strange objects to extract the Yin Evil Aura.
There were no screams, no curses either. Each Demon Evil's mouth had been sealed shut, leaving them no chance to speak.
"The main purpose of the Demon Sealing Hall is to study the characteristics of Demon Evils and find counterasures, or to use those characteristics to enhance the strength of the Human Clan. The current Defender Envoy is the result of our Demon Sealing Hall's early research." Lu Yuan explained patiently.
While speaking, he glanced at Shen Changqing before continuing, "However, the Defender Envoy also has a significant flaw—lifespan. Over the years, we have been researching ways to bring the lifespan of a Defender Envoy back to the standard of a normal mber of the Human Clan, or even to match the longevity of Demon Evils.
To date, the Demon Sealing Hall has made so progress. But to conduct thorough validations, we need to expend a large number of Demon Evils. Even exhausting all the Demon Evils in the Demon Sealing Tower might not be enough to completely solve the problem."
