“You’re getting to the point.” The Lord appeared excited. “Since it’s a new side, it has to be different from the Grand Sky Coalition and Thousand Demon Ridge. Our goal is to not fight anyone. In that case, I think we can attract a lot of cultivators. After all, many cultivators in the world are sick of the war between the two sides.”
Standing behind the Lord, Yu Daiwei was in a state of disbelief when she saw the excitent on his face.
That was because she had been by his side for years, but she had never seen such an expression on his face. What was even more inconceivable was that it was a young man in the Fifth-Order Real Lake Realm who elicited such a reaction from the Lord.
She was fully aware that the Lord was a proud man. He didn’t even have any regard for the Sect Masters of the top Sects in Jiu Zhou. In his opinion, those Sect Masters were a bunch of inflexible people who would never understand what he was trying to achieve.
But now, the Lord was chatting jovially with Lu Ye. It seed that they were discussing an issue on equal terms. That was why she was shocked, and it made her realise the Lord truly valued the young man.
Even she had no idea why the Lord regarded Lu Ye so highly.
“I think so.” Lu Ye nodded.
If such a side existed in this world, many cultivators would be interested in joining it. Just like what the Lord had said, many cultivators were sick of the constant war between the two sides. However, it wasn’t like they had a choice since it was how the world worked.
Many cultivators had no grudges against each other. They contended with one another simply because they were on opposing sides.
Suddenly, Lu Ye brought up sothing different. “Strictly speaking, the Divine Trade Association is such a side.”
The Lord was startled for a mont before smiling helplessly. “That’s different. The Divine Trade Association is a for-profit organisation, so it’s not the sa as what I’m talking about. They indeed don’t compete with anyone, but how can they do that when they need to do business?”
“Do you want to create such a side, my Lord?” Lu Ye now had a better idea of what the other man was trying to do.
“Chaos!” announced the Lord. “The Grand Sky Coalition and Thousand Demon Ridge are respectively Yin and Yang. They don’t coexist. If we turn them into one, it’ll be Chaos!”
“So, your ultimate goal is to rule over the entire Jiu Zhou,” Lu Ye said matter-of-factly.
The Lord shook his head. “Ruling over Jiu Zhou isn’t my goal. I just want to change the status quo.”
Lu Ye fell silent. It had to be said that it was a good thing this person was ambitious. If he could achieve his goal, it would be imnsely beneficial to Jiu Zhou. The war between the two sides would beco history, and fewer people would lose their lives.
However, even though the goal was noble, the process might not be pleasant. Lu Ye could imagine Jiu Zhou becoming even more chaotic if a side nad Chaos suddenly rose to power.
“Why have you brought here, then?” Lu Ye voiced his doubt.
They had been conversing for quite a while, but he still didn’t understand why the Lord had told soone to capture him.
“I need your help.” The Lord stared at him with sincerity.
Lu Ye glanced back at him for a mont before saying impassively, “You’re overestimating my power, my Lord. I’m only a Real Lake Realm Master. How am I supposed to help you achieve your goal?”
“I told you not to underestimate yourself. You have a power that I don’t possess,” the Lord said with a smile. As he spoke, he fished out a disc the size of a palm and passed it to Lu Ye.
After a mont of hesitation, Lu Ye took the disc and examined it.
The disc seed to be made from stone with many intricate patterns on it. The patterns were so complex that Lu Ye started feeling dizzy. It was as though his soul would be sucked into it.
It was apparently not an ordinary stone disc, but he couldn’t tell what it was.
While Lu Ye was studying the disc, the Lord was observing him. A powerful cultivator like him could capture the slightest reaction from Lu Ye. After a mont of observation, the Lord frowned as things were different from what he had thought.
“What is this?” Lu Ye asked.
Instead of answering his question, the Lord asked, “Can’t you tell what it is?”
Lu Ye shook his head.
The Lord smiled and took the strange disc back from him without explaining anything. “There’s nothing else. You can go back now.”
The conversation ended abruptly. The Lord was still enthusiastic earlier. Lu Ye didn’t mind it as he rose to his feet and returned to his wooden house.
After he was gone, Yu Daiwei asked, “My Lord, is he not the person you’re looking for?”
“He is.”
“Then, why…”
“It’s not the right ti yet.” The Lord leaned against the chair and furrowed his brows, evidently disappointed.
“What’s this stone disc?” Yu Daiwei couldn’t contain her curiosity.
The Lord fiddled with the disc in silence. It wasn’t until monts later that he replied, “It’s a token that can create a new side.”
Yu Daiwei’s pupils dilated. Since she had been by the Lord’s side for a long ti, she knew so secrets that others didn’t.
It wasn’t easy to create a new side, and nobody could simply claim they had established one. It had to be acknowledged by the Heavens.
For example, the Grand Sky Coalition and Thousand Demon Ridge were the two sides that the Heavens had acknowledged. As such, the Battlefield Imprint of a Grand Sky Coalition cultivator would radiate a blue glow, whereas it was a red glow for a Thousand Demon Ridge cultivator.
The mysterious Heavens’ power engulfed the entire Jiu Zhou.
Without the Heavens’ acknowledgent, a new side would never last long. However, with the Heavens’ acknowledgent, the people from that side could change their Battlefield Imprints. When cultivators from the sa side ca across each other, they could quickly determine if the other party was a friend or a foe.
“My Lord, since you have this item, why don’t you use it?” Yu Daiwei was puzzled.
The Lord had been preparing for the new side for years. With such an item in possession, he could easily create a new side.
The Lord shook his head. “I can’t use it, and neither can you. Only soone with the Heavens’ blessing can activate this item.”
Decades ago, a certain soone had the right to use this item, but he chose to stash it away. That was because he had too many enemies at that ti. Even if he used the item, he couldn’t make the Thousand Demon Ridge cultivators side with him.
Decades later, only Lu Ye had the right to activate the item. However, judging from his reaction earlier, he couldn’t use the item either. Otherwise, he would’ve figured out what the item was for as soon as he ca into contact with it.
[It’s not the right ti yet…] The Lord secretly let out a sigh.
“How do we deal with him, then?”
Yu Daiwei finally realised why the Lord had told her to bring Lu Ye to this place. It was for this stone disc. Since Lu Ye couldn’t activate the item, his value had decreased significantly.
Certainly, they couldn’t kill him. Although he couldn’t use the item as it wasn’t the right ti yet, it didn’t an he couldn’t do that in the future. Naturally, they couldn’t release him either.
“Just let him be. He’ll leave on his own,” the Lord said and got to his feet.
Yu Daiwei was shocked. “Do you think he can leave this place, my Lord?”
It was an isolated Hidden Realm with Dao Thirteen guarding the exit. Without an order from her or the Lord, Dao Thirteen wouldn’t let Lu Ye go. How was a Real Lake Realm Master like Lu Ye supposed to leave?
“Since he has the Heavens’ blessing, he can achieve what others can’t. If he can’t leave this place, he’s not the person I’m looking for. In that case, just let him stay here until he passes away.” The Lord strode towards the exit.
There was one more thing he didn’t tell Yu Daiwei. Through the observation earlier, he discovered that Lu Ye hadn’t been enlightened.
Yu Daiwei reported that Chen Tianchui had tried to enlighten Lu Ye. No ordinary person could resist that move.
There was no way she was mistaken. In other words, Chen Tianchui had indeed tried to enlighten Lu Ye, but it was useless against the latter for so reason.
That was the reason the Lord guffawed the mont he saw Lu Ye. After all, he needed a Lu Ye who could stay true to himself, not an enlightened puppet.
Since Lu Ye had the Heavens’ blessing, he could achieve things that others couldn’t. This made the Lord believe that Lu Ye was the one he was looking for.
A mont later, Yu Daiwei respectfully saw the Lord off. While in the sa spot, she gave it so thought before sauntering towards Lu Ye’s wooden house.
Soon enough, Lu Ye opened the door and looked at her in puzzlent. “What’s the matter?”
Yu Daiwei pointed at Dao Thirteen, who had tagged along following her order. “From now on, he’ll follow you wherever you go, so don’t even think about running away.”
Then, she turned to look at Dao Thirteen and ordered, “If this brat tries to open up the exit, kill him straight away.”
“Yes,” Dao Thirteen replied.
The Lord said that the one with the Heavens’ blessing could achieve what others couldn’t. She wanted to see how Lu Ye was supposed to leave the Hidden Realm in such a situation.
It would be inconceivable if Lu Ye could still flee this place when Dao Thirteen followed him around all the ti.
Lu Ye felt his eyelids twitching. “What’s wrong with you?”
Yu Daiwei covered her mouth and giggled. “Before you talk rudely, you’d better think about the difference in power between us.”
Lu Ye quickly straightened his face. “What are you doing this for?”
“To prevent you from running away, of course.”
Lu Ye asked ditatively, “Are you leaving?”
He glanced in the lake’s direction and discovered the Lord was nowhere in sight. The other party had left.
If Yu Daiwei was gone, only Dao Thirteen and Lu Ye would be left in this place.
“Don’t ask what you shouldn’t.”
“In that case, I have a request.” Lu Ye glanced at the burly man beside Yu Daiwei. “I understand why you’re making him keep an eye on , but there’s no need for him to follow around all the ti. I need so privacy.”
“You’re only a captive. What right do you have to talk about privacy?” Yu Daiwei sneered.
Lu Ye snapped. “Although I’m a captive, I’m still a Human. Don’t you cross the line! It seems that your Lord needs my help. If you mistreat , I’ll tell him about it when I see him next ti.”
