"Emotion?" Sun Hang thought for a mont, "Actually, I have a question... can emotions be simulated?"
"Simulated?"
"Just like... artificial intelligence."

Ten o’clock in the morning, Celestial City Mysterious Creature Research Institute.
"Did the rain stop?" Yang Qi glanced at the tablet in her hand, her tone laced with a hint of confusion.
"Is it strange?" A representative from the military asked doubtfully, "The rain has been falling for so long, isn’t it normal for it to stop?"
"Not at all normal," said Song Yarong, turning around from her computer with a hint of contempt for laypeople in her voice, "According to comprehensive calculations from various monitoring data, the reason the area around Chira 17 experiences heavy rainfall is because it uses the water cycle to cool its own nuclear reactor... However, the ssage just ca from Observation Post No. 7 that not only has the rain stopped, but the nuclear reaction of Chira 17 has temporarily ceased as well... Do you still think this is normal?"
"It’s... it’s not very normal." The military representative was stunned for a mont, "But, isn’t that supposed to be a good thing? The nuclear reaction stopping ans the incubation ti for Chira 17 would be extended, giving us more ti to develop the ’insecticide.’ We should be happy!"
"Should be happy... Are you happy now?" Song Yarong asked.
"Well..." The military representative hesitated for several seconds, then shook his head, "I... I think there might be sothing odd about this as well."
"There you have it. Without any external influences, Chira 17 voluntarily extends the incubation ti needed... You can’t possibly believe this is so gesture of benevolence from the mysterious creature towards humanity, can you?" Song Yarong said.
"But what if... what if sothing went wrong during Chira 17’s incubation process..." The military representative’s voice grew softer.
"Don’t entertain hope," Ye Xuan in a camouflage combat uniform pushed the door open and entered, "I think yesterday Sun Hang was right, the ’insecticide plan’ must have been exposed, this anomaly might very well be a counterasure taken by Chira 17."
"Though I also feel that sothing strange is afoot..." another researcher started saying, "However, Chira 17 doing this is only beneficial to us, not detrintal... The longer the ti, the more complete the insecticide becos, the higher the success rate of extermination; no matter how you look at it, it doesn’t seem like..."
"Have all departnts stay alert, both inside and outside the city, double the number of patrolling sentries." Ye Xuan said, "Additionally, inform those Hunters that their temporary leave has ended early."
...
"What? It’s not even a full day yet? Back to the grind already?" Sun Hang glanced at his phone, finished the canned cola in his hand, and then precisely threw it into the trash bin fifteen ters away.
"Weren’t you the one who said the insecticide plan has been exposed, asking Yang Qi and the others to be more cautious?" Wang Xiyi, who was peeling an apple while leaning against the sofa back, gave Sun Hang a sideways glance, "Now things are as you wished, aren’t they?"
"Being cautious is good, but losing my holiday is not ideal. I was planning to complete ’Black Myth: Wukong’ today..." Sun Hang shook his head repeatedly, stating seriously, "Work needs to have a balance of labor and rest, continuous overti severely impacts efficiency, such decisions are overly hasty..."
"Actually... if you want to play gas, you still can." Zhong Ling’s voice ca from the kitchen next to the living room, still so bland it barely carried any emotion, "The notice only said to be on standby at all tis, it didn’t assign us any specific tasks."
"There’s not much difference, actually." Wang Xiyi broke the peeled apple in half with her hand, keeping one half for herself and stuffing the other into Sun Hang’s mouth, "Even during a state of rest, if sothing truly happens, we’d have to deploy imdiately at the drop of a call."
"Then what’s the point of this notification?" Sun Hang, who wasn’t a Veteran Hunter, asked in confusion.
"The point is, to be ready to deploy at a mont’s notice," Wang Xiyi said, "You can think of it as ’ready for combat at any given ti’."
"Then you’re not wearing combat attire?" Sun Hang glanced at Wang Xiyi and asked.
Wang Xiyi had long changed out of her close-combat uniform which perfectly outlined her body’s curves, into the inexpensive jeans and oversized white T-shirts she had dozens of sets of in her wardrobe—these oversized T-shirts, worn by most won, would produce an oversized effect, yet on her, it was simply a perfectly fitting normal outfit.
To allow her long and thick dragon tail to pass through, Wang Xiyi had altered her jeans: high-waisted styles simply had a big hole cut out at the back, while the low-waisted ones were simply lowered further—she was currently wearing low-waisted jeans, from Sun Hang’s angle, the charming groin was completely visible.
"That stuff is not comfortable at all... those white coats told that the resilience and strength of the material withstand large-scale morphological changes after dragon transformation, but they said nothing about it burning up easily with my Dragon Breath. Since it burns anyway, I might as well wear my own clothes, they’re more comfortable." Wang Xiyi said.
"Makes sense." Sun Hang nodded, indicating his agreent.
As for Zhong Ling, her readiness was even simpler—the coffins containing the mysterious remains were just placed on the lawn outside, and in an ergency, there’s no need to load these coffins onto vehicles. With just one command from Zhong Ling, these mysterious remains would spring up from their coffins... if we were to compare speed, most of them could run faster than cars.
