Yang Lian glanced at Sun Hang, didn’t say much, and directly picked up her chopsticks to start eating.
The al ended in a slightly strange and awkward atmosphere. After eating, Yang Lian tossed her al box into the trash, stuck the chopsticks into the dishwasher, and then headed upstairs without looking back.
"She seems to be jealous?" Shinkata Misaki played with the chopsticks in her hand, smiling faintly as she looked at Sun Hang.
"She’s not my girlfriend, why would she be jealous?"
"Not your girlfriend, then she’s your lover, right?"
"We’re really just in a pure working relationship."
"Living together, yet it’s a ’pure working relationship’, who would believe that?" Shinkata Misaki gave Sun Hang the middle finger.
"Believe it or not." Sun Hang tidied up the table briefly, "You’ll sleep in the first-floor bedroom tonight, the one on the far left."
This bedroom was originally occupied by Ye Xuan, but recently Ye Xuan had been mostly staying at the military command center, so the room was vacant.
"Does your house have a curfew?" Shinkata Misaki suddenly asked.
"What curfew?"
"Like no going out after ten at night, for instance."
"Why, are you planning on going out in the middle of the night to do sothing shady?"
"Nightlife, don’t you people in Tianfu have nightlife?" Shinkata Misaki was a bit speechless. "Barbecues, nightclubs, car racing... aren’t these entertainnt activities all concentrated in the latter half of the night?"
"Nightclubs? Car racing?" Sun Hang looked Shinkata Misaki up and down, "Are you even eighteen yet? Do you have a driver’s license?"
"Of course, as an Esper, I hold a special license issued by the Dubhe Tower. Don’t even ntion sports cars, you give a fighter jet, I can fly it legally." Shinkata Misaki said.
"Then what I’m going to say next might disappoint you. Right now, Tianfu City is under a full military lockdown. At night, there are no roadside barbecue stalls or street banquets. Bars, discos, and nightclubs have all ceased operations. Roads are controlled, and unofficial vehicles are prohibited from passing. Those ’nightlife’ activities you ntioned, are completely not available here."
"Quite boring, huh... If I rember correctly, hasn’t Tianfu City’s civilian internet still not been restored?" Shinkata Misaki asked.
"No, it hasn’t."
"Then doesn’t that an the only entertainnt left for ordinary people living here is to make babies? I’d imagine next year’s birth rate in Tianfu City will definitely hit a new high... Just a pity for those single folks, long nights alone, only being able to keep their hands entertained." Shinkata Misaki shrugged, swaying slightly as she walked towards the bedroom assigned to her.
"By the way." Sun Hang called to her back, "You better not think about sneaking out at night. Sun Qiong ntioned to that you’ve tried similar things before, you’re a repeat offender."
"That ti I was rely curious to see what the strange creature we were dealing with the next day looked like... But I’m curious, if I did plan to sneak out, what would you do to stop ?" Shinkata Misaki turned back, grinning mischievously.
"I wouldn’t stop you because you won’t be able to sneak out," Sun Hang waved his hand indifferently, "I’m just giving you a suggestion not to make futile attempts."
"Tch." Shinkata Misaki walked into the room, slamming the door shut behind her.
...
Sun Hang wandered around the living room, flipped through the pirated discs on the TV, and found that he had already watched all the classic tokusatsu films Mr. Wang brought over. Only a few popcorn movies, which he lost interest in after the beginning, remained. All he could do was sigh helplessly and head upstairs.
At least Shinkata Misaki was right about one thing, in the current Tianfu City, ordinary people wanting to find so fun, can probably only make babies.
As he passed by Yang Lian’s door, Sun Hang heard slightly rapid breathing. Before he could stop, the door opened a crack.
Yang Lian’s room was dark, and she leaned against the door fra, showing half of her face.
"Co in," Yang Lian said expressionlessly.
"Hmm?"
"When I say co in, just co in." Yang Lian opened the door wider.
Sun Hang walked in, instinctively wanting to turn on the light, but was stopped by Yang Lian: "Don’t turn on the light."
"What are you planning to do in the dark? Or are you planning to show your new glow-in-the-dark watch?" Sun Hang imdiately rembered an old joke.
Yang Lian was wearing the sa black suit and trousers she wore to pick him up from the airport. The down jacket she wore for commute was hanging on a nearby coat rack. The room was filled with a faint fragrance, hard to tell if it was perfu or her personal scent.
Yang Lian bent down, pulled off her socks, and tossed them aside casually.
"What you said during the day was right," Yang Lian suddenly said a statent that was a bit puzzling.
"Which statent?"
"I am indeed an old virgin, a dull and boring old virgin," Yang Lian said, her head slightly lowered, her entire face shrouded in shadow, making it indiscernible, "When I was a kid, my eyes only saw my sister. I wanted to follow in her footsteps, I studied hard and did countless exercises. The exam papers I filled could be packed into cardboard boxes, filling the space under my bed..."
Sun Hang: "That fits your character profile pretty well."
"But later, I realized the gap between people is so huge... I couldn’t keep up with her steps, not in a lifeti. In school, she was the genius everyone watched, and I was just the bookworm wearing high prescription glasses, buried in exam papers." Yang Lian said, unbuttoning her jacket as she spoke.
