"Then, then let down first!" Yang Lian exclaid urgently, "I have a gun in my bag!"
"If the situation has escalated to the point where you need to use a gun for self-defense, the gun probably won't be much help anymore," Sun Hang said.
"Then at least let put on so clothes! I'm still naked!" Yang Lian said indignantly, "If we have to go outside later... it's below zero out there right now!"
"Then hurry up," Sun Hang relaxed the mycelium and let Yang Lian down.
Yang Lian quickly picked up her underwear from the floor and put it on, then dug out a thick down jacket from the wardrobe and slipped it on.
She then ran to the coat rack, pulled out a nine-milliter handgun and two magazines from her bag, and stuffed them into the large pocket of her jacket.
"Have you contacted the research institute?" Yang Lian asked.
"Not yet, I just ca out to call you when I heard the noise," Sun Hang shook his head.
"Try to stall for ti, I'll call the institute... I'll call my sister, get them to send people for reinforcents!" Yang Lian said.
"...Aren't you forgetting sothing?" Sun Hang looked at her rather speechlessly.
"What?"
"I'm also a Mysterious Creature Hunter," Sun Hang scratched his head, "and apparently, one of the strongest hunters in Tianfu City at the mont."
Yang Lian's arm holding the phone froze in mid-air, after half a second, she said sowhat worriedly, "But you said... that creature is probably targeting you, so it shouldn't... shouldn't be weak, right? You handling it alone, will there be any dan..."
"Oh? Are you worried about ?" Sun Hang asked with a smile.
"At tis like this, how can you still have the mood to say such things?" Yang Lian glared at Sun Hang, "I'm serious... if this creature is specifically targeting you... then you..."
"Even if we call for reinforcents now, they won't make it in ti," Sun Hang said, "You just need to take care of yourself... Hm?"
"What is it?" Seeing Sun Hang's expression change slightly, Yang Lian quickly asked.
"A lot."
"A lot of what?"
"The aura of the creatures..."
"You an, there are more than one creature in the sewer?!" Yang Lian suddenly paled, instinctively picking up her phone again.

Before the words finished, there was a sound of banging and smashing of doors and windows coming from the first floor of the villa.
"Outside the house?" Yang Lian's eyes widened, and she imdiately headed towards the balcony.
"Don't go to the balcony," Sun Hang grabbed her wrist and then pulled her towards the first floor.
The two quickly went down the stairs to the first floor of the villa, the banging outside was now clearer.
"Go put on so shoes." Sun Hang glanced at Yang Lian's bare feet, "Wear hiking boots or sneakers, don't wear high heels!"
"I know!" Yang Lian pulled out a pair of fleece-lined hiking boots from the shoe cabinet at the entrance and slipped them on, while tying the laces, she occasionally looked up at the door being banged loudly.
Sun Hang went to the window next to the dining room and drew the curtains aside.
"Whoa... What's this? A biohazard outbreak?"
Outside, the yard was packed with people, their expressions vacant, eyes lifeless, relentlessly banging their arms against the French window.
These people emitted a strong aura of mysterious creatures, and behind them, the shadow representing negative emotions almost ford a continuous mass, like a dark cloud overshadowing the masses.
In a daze, Sun Hang saw a familiar, recognizable face among the crowd.
He recalled that shortly after Eternal Night descended, that "morning," when he was strolling down the street, he saw a little boy leaning against the window on a building across the street making eye contact with him.
The little boy looked at Sun Hang in confusion, then turned back to say sothing — shortly after, a middle-aged woman ca to the window and carried the boy away.
Before she closed the curtain, the look she gave Sun Hang remained vividly in his mory.
How to describe that look? Wary, cautious, distant... or perhaps, fearful?
But now her eyes were as vacant as two murky marbles, with nothing but a few scratches on her face, whose origin was unknown.
She was jostled by the crowd, raising her arms above her head, fingers slightly curled, futility clawing at the air.
Sun Hang swept his gaze across the crowd again but did not see the little boy who was carried away by the middle-aged woman that day.
"I know where these people... where these creatures ca from," Sun Hang said.
"Ah?!" Yang Lian, having put on her shoes, was evidently frightened by the oppressive "crowd" outside, her face turning pale.
"These people are civilians living in the nearby neighborhood," Sun Hang said, "I don't know what thod the creature used, like a virus spreading, it infected everyone into creatures... We're probably the only two living people within several miles."
Yet what perplexed Sun Hang was why Yang Lian, a regular person, was unaffected... Was it because she stayed close to him the whole ti?
If she were to co into close contact with the creature-infected people, would she also beco one of them?
"How could there be so many people?" Yang Lian said, "The nature of this incident... I need to contact the institute imdiately!"
"No need to contact them, such a large commotion, street caras would have recorded everything by now," Sun Hang glanced at his phone. Sure enough, the screen displayed over a dozen unread ssages and multiple missed calls — he had put his phone on silent mode earlier to avoid external distractions during strenuous activity, and had not switched it back.
