"What illusion?" The scavenger squatting nearby was startled by Sun Hang’s sudden reaction.
"That mysterious creature, it’s right here, in the underground second floor, the machine room we just searched." Sun Hang said.
"Huh?" The scavenger imdiately stood up and looked outside the shop nervously, "Then... why didn’t we see anything just now? Didn’t we search the whole machine room thoroughly?"
"It only existed for a mont... just that instant..." Sun Hang pondered, "Could it be a phenonon-type mysterious creature? We can’t rule out this possibility... the signal interference field can indeed be categorized as a phenonon-type mysterious creature..."
"No, that’s not right." Sun Hang quickly dismissed his own idea, "If it were a phenonon-type mysterious creature, it would have appeared for just a mont, but the signal interference field has been there all along."
Sun Hang pulled out his phone, the signal in the upper right corner was still zero bars.
However, before Sun Hang could continue his thoughts, the sa mysterious creature aura reappeared, then disappeared again.
Sun Hang’s gaze lingered on the TV screen.
In the next second, Sun Hang grabbed the remote control from the counter and pressed the playback button.
The images on the screen began to rewind, making so previously horrifying scenes appear sowhat comical - like the scene where the mysterious masked person swung an axe to knock down the protagonist’s companion, turning into pulling the axe out of the corpse, and then the fallen person was imdiately revived... The murderer suddenly beca like Hua Tuo reborn, making one want to shout, "Nice one, doctor!"
When the image rewound to a certain fra, the mysterious creature aura appeared again.
Besides the powerful mysterious aura beneath the ground, there was also a faint mysterious creature aura coming from the inside of the videotape.
Previously, Sun Hang’s attention was captivated by the mysterious aura that appeared and disappeared suddenly. It was only now that he realized that even this videotape being played was a mysterious creature.
"I understand now." Sun Hang nodded.
"Understand what?" The scavenger looked bewildered.
"Good heavens, could this be one of those legendary... rules-based mysterious creatures?" Sun Hang examined the tape deck, "This should count as two mysterious creatures, right? What is this? A nesting-doll type mysterious creature... No, to be precise, it should be symbiosis type, right?"
"Two mysterious creatures? What nesting-doll? What symbiosis?" The scavenger asked hesitantly.
Sun Hang slightly fast-forwarded the movie and then pressed the pause button.
The familiar mysterious creature aura reappeared... this ti, it didn’t disappear.
"This videotape is also a mysterious creature." Sun Hang said, "And it’s a very rare Type A - rule-based mysterious creature."
"Huh?" The scavenger was startled and instinctively took a step back, putting so distance between herself and the tape deck.
"But don’t worry, this mysterious creature isn’t aggressive, and its rule is simple and very easy to break." Sun Hang said.
"W-what rule?" The scavenger quickly asked.
"There are a total of two mysterious creatures in the underground comrcial street, one in the first-floor video store, which is this videotape, and the other in the second-floor machine room... As for the mysterious creature that killed the scavenger, it should be the one in the machine room." Sun Hang said, "As for the rule of this videotape, it’s simple: only when the movie’s plot plays into the ’tiline reset’ special node do these two mysterious creatures ’appear’... Otherwise, when the videotape isn’t playing, or when it’s playing non-special node segnts, these two mysterious creatures are regarded as ’nonexistent’."
"I don’t get it..."
"Obviously, you’re not a computer science student." Sun Hang shrugged, "It’s easy to understand using the logic of computer language, it’s just a simple if statent."
"I... I’m just a freshman in high school..." The scavenger girl said.
"That’s okay." Sun Hang said, "You just need to know these two mysterious creatures only appear when the movie plays a specific segnt, and right now, I’ve paused the movie at this segnt, so if we go to the machine room now, we should be able to see the previously ’nonexistent’ mysterious creature."
The scavenger nodded with semi-comprehension.
"I think that guy who was killed probably realized this." Sun Hang said, "He didn’t smash the TV screen with an axe because the TV was unusable and he was frustrated... If I’m correct..." Sun Hang walked over to the power strip and directly unplugged the TV’s power cord.
The TV screen didn’t turn off.
"This videotape can play without electricity."
"Then... should we hurry up and leave this place and report this situation to the Investigation Bureau?" The scavenger said, "Tell them there are mysterious creatures here..."
"You seem to have forgotten sothing?"
"Huh?"
"There’s a mysterious creature hunter right here." Sun Hang pointed to himself, "What else do you think I’m here for in a place like this?"
"Uh..."
"That guy must’ve already discovered the mysterious creature in the machine room, and I suspect the machine room’s mysterious creature might be able to co up to this floor... Otherwise, his axe should’ve fallen in the machine room or nearby, not on the street."
After Sun Hang said this, the scavenger’s breath beca abruptly rapid, every few seconds she would tilt her head to look outside the shop, as if a terrifying mysterious creature could jump out from the shadows at any mont.
