He sowhat underestimated the suppressed anger of the Roman populace during this period. First, the pillar of the Empire, Aetius, was assassinated, then Emperor Valentinian III was murdered. Following this, the usurper brought in the Vandals, and many parts of Italy were looted.
Their fury was getting out of control. When a mob swung a knife at him, Banaklauf realized he had gone too far.
Splurt.
Banaklauf spat out a mouthful of blood. He struggled to escape, but the rioting crowd pressed him down and trampled him. He couldn’t die yet; he had orchestrated the assassination of Maximus and hadn’t had the chance to claim credit with Governor Duncan of Britain. He couldn’t just die here like this.
Dozens of rioters held him down as he struggled.
A flurry of blades descended, and Banaklauf was stabbed over ten tis, dying on the spot.
In the direction of the Senate, hundreds of rioting Roman citizens also stord in. So plundered valuables, while others attacked the mbers of the Senate en masse.
The public anger had been suppressed for too long.
The guards of the senatorial nobles were all hacked to pieces by the rioting crowd.

Finally, after nearly five to six hundred had been slaughtered, the riot in Ravenna was forcefully quelled.
Only then did the imperial legions enter the city to maintain order.
The residences of the senatorial nobles were each sealed off, no one allowed in or out, awaiting a major purge to prevent any looting or embezzlent. Hundreds of law enforcent officers were dispatched to patrol the whole of Ravenna.
For the ti being, the order in Ravenna was actually better than before the outbreak of war.
"Fortunately, it has been controlled."
Balton wiped his cold sweat. If the revolt had spread, and the Forbidden Army had also started rioting and looting, the whole of Ravenna would have been dood, and he might also have faced punishnt.
At least not too many people died.
In the direction of Ro.
Just as the third, fifth, and sixth British Legions were capturing Ravenna, Duncan had already led his elite cavalry into the heart of the Italian peninsula.
The Vandals were never there to help. They did not follow Maximus’ orders to intercept the British Legion in the direction of Milan but instead plunged into looting the local areas, reaping full spoils across the entire Italian peninsula.
The leader of the Vandals, Gaiseric, had realized he couldn’t stop the British Legion, so he intended to grab as much as he could and leave for maximum profit.
Betrayal?
Apologies, but that’s how he acted historically.
The Vandals have no credibility whatsoever.
If it weren’t for the British Legion’s rapid advance, he would have planned to take advantage of the conflict between Maximus and Duncan, directly capturing the wealthy city of Ro, looting, and leaving.
At this mont.
In the Umbria Region, a Vandal army of several thousand was pillaging nearby towns and villages. As the sound of galloping horses ca from afar, a black dragon banner suddenly flew high in the air.
"Kill!"
Duncan’s figure appeared at the front, leading two thousand elite cavalry, sweeping in like a storm. The Vandal cavalry outside tried to intercept but were nearly halved in rely one engagent. The remainder fled in panic.
The lance like a dragon.
Duncan’s mounted spear thrust struck, instantly piercing the chest of a Vandal commander, lifting him up. Then, with a roar, he hurled the corpse away. The sound of thundering hooves drowned out everything, as hundreds of personal guards rolled through, devastating the Vandals plundering everywhere into disarray.
Fires burned everywhere, corpses strewn all over, and the Vandals, caught off guard, scread for their lives. Soon, over a thousand knelt, pleading for surrender.
But the slaughter didn’t stop.
Not until this enemy force was completely annihilated, did Duncan cast a grim gaze upon the surrendered Vandal soldiers.
"Kill them all!"
Normally, Duncan didn’t kill surrendered soldiers, but today was an exception. He had no capacity to take prisoners, and keeping them would only cause further harm.
An unrelenting massacre erupted instantly.
Three hundred Hun mounted archers furiously shot at the surrendering Vandals. Those attempting resistance were wiped out by the cavalry in an instant.
The killing quickly ended.
The entire battle, from start to finish, lasted only a few monts. Duncan had almost completely annihilated this Vandal force, leaving three thousand corpses scattered, with the small river beside the town turning blood-red.
So Vandals escaped to the riverbank, only to be rcilessly shot down by Hun mounted archers, their bodies carried away by the river.
The Huns were too adept at this.
Having routed one of the Vandal forces, Duncan imdiately headed towards Ro.
