"There’s a river ahead."
"Should we find a bridge or swim across?"
Crete, carrying a Dwarven battle-axe, turned to look at Hegel and said, "The river isn’t wide, we should be able to swim across."
Hegel looked up and said in a deep voice, "It’s getting dark."
"Let’s just swim across."
He was about to get into the water when Duncan reached out to stop him. Duncan looked at the Dwarf half-armor they were wearing, as well as the heavy battle-axe, warhamr, throwing axes, and javelins, and said speechlessly, "Are you sure you guys can actually swim?"
Hegel considered the heavy gear on him, nodded, and said, "It should be fine."
I’m great at swimming.
I once even fought a sea beast in the North Sea and ended up sleeping with a pretty fisherwoman.
Duncan shook his head helplessly, looked at the others, and said, "Follow ."
"We’re just going to walk across."
After speaking, he asked the others to hand over so of their luggage to him. Then he found a gravelly area, took a deep breath, and stepped into the not-so-rapid river. His feet sank about half a ter. Duncan held his breath and walked from underwater directly to the other side in just two or three minutes.
"Oh right!"
"We can actually just walk through."
A group of burly individuals took a deep breath, one by one stepping into the river bed. The Barbarians had strong constitution, so there was no chance of drowning them. Soon, heads began popping up from beneath the water.
"I feel stronger!"
Usga flexed his leg biceps underwater, speaking in a gurgling voice, "This must be a blessing from the God of Strength. He teaches us to pursue being strong and healthy."
"Today I’m going to do a hundred more lifts."
A bunch of muscleheads without much brains, luckily they weren’t pointy-headed.
—Usga (Three-star silver-gray).
Duncan, from a god-like perspective, glanced at them. These Barbarians indeed beca stronger, to put it in gaming terms, they leveled up from monster killing.
"Crete, get them to start a fire."
Duncan tossed a javelin to Usga and instructed, "Go see if there are any animals nearby, we’re running out of the stuff the Dwarves sent."
"Blu, you go with him."
"Hegel!"
"Give the flask, don’t think I don’t know what you’ve got, that’s cooking wine."
The Barbarians’ cooking was notoriously awful.
Duncan couldn’t stand it, so he had to cook himself, taking a few bottles of Dwarven alcohol to mask the odor and add flavor. According to the warband’s rules, they’re normally not allowed to drink because it dulls their alertness. But Hegel is a drunkard, and only Duncan can slightly keep him in check.
Damn.
Next ti, I have to beat him up while he’s drunk, teach him a valuable lesson.
"I didn’t drink... really..."
Hegel awkwardly got up and handed the bottle to Duncan. He really just wanted a taste to wet his throat. Barbarians respect the strong. According to the teaching of the God of Strength, those who are strong and healthy by nature should lead those who are weak.
So in the whole team, only Duncan and Hegel had equal status.
Because he once defeated Hegel.
Duncan had spent enough ti with these Barbarians to understand their temperant. They weren’t much like the Barbarians in Dungeons and Dragons, instead, they were more like those in Heroes of Might and Magic.
They were the Barbarian stronghold, all stats going to strength, with no intelligence boosts.
But a bunch of big dumb guys are even more obedient than clever ones.
Before long.
After the group had started a bonfire, Usga and Blu ca back carrying a giant crocodile. He excitedly said, "Look what I found!"
A crocodile weighing about three hundred pounds, enough to feed them for a day or two.
Duncan drew a dagger to cook. His skills were diocre, but much better than the Barbarians.
Crete was helping cut the at on the side, while Hegel and Blu were wrestling, with others watching and occasionally joining in, only to be taken down quickly.
Duncan occasionally looked up, thinking to himself, "Hegel still has a bit of childlike innocence."
"It’s just that the environnt has too much influence."
Barbarians are simply like that by nature, Hegel is, after all, a pure Barbarian.
This is the adventurous life of the Barbarians.
You could even say they’re a group of war-happy nomads searching for glory and won, spending any money they earn from fighting n and monsters. Their only wealth lies in strong physiques, well-honed combat skills, and the comrades beside them.
At this mont.
A prompt suddenly appeared on the Dinsion Space projection page.
—"Wild Heart (in formation): You are gradually understanding the true essence of Barbarian life. For thousands of years, countless Barbarian warriors have lived this way, finding truth in the world through simple living. Though their life is brief, it is filled with wildness, freedom, and untad ferocity, shining like a teor streaking through the sky."
(The human form’s alignnt slightly shifts towards chaotic.)
(Wild Heart will slightly enhance Barbarian warriors’ innate abilities and increase the strength limit after Frenzy, with a small chance to comprehend a strand of the Wildness Law in the Root Domain.)
A lower concept of Natural Divine Position.
Wildness Domain.
Duncan embodied this human form, playing the role of a Barbarian, so it was slightly different from other human forms. Killing, sleeping with won, it’s all about following one’s heart, even primitive human instincts.
Undoubtedly, his judgnt was correct because one of the root domains of Barbarian warriors is ’Wildness’.
In the Barbaric Era.
Barbarians had to be wilder than others to defeat those formidable enemies.
