Chapter 480: I am really about to die

His mana flared again, coating his skin like a protective barrier. And that’s when he felt it—sothing.

A foreign energy.

He turned his eyes to the dark horizon, his golden hair fluttering in the breeze.

Whatever it was—it had co close. Too close.

And it had vanished just before he could catch it.

Turning back from the terrace, he stepped quietly into the room, his senses sharpened to their limits. The moonlight fell across the floor like silver ink, casting long shadows that danced with even the faintest movent of the breeze.

He scanned the room again. Nothing seed out of place. No trace of energy. No movent.

But the mont he stepped further inside—

A wave of unnatural chill slamd into his body.

His breath hitched as an icy grip clutched at his chest, like phantom fingers trying to pierce into his very core.

“What—” he gasped, stumbling back instinctively.

Without hesitation, his instincts took over.

A sudden burst of power exploded from him as he summoned three of his supre energies—Creative, Death, and Lightning—in perfect harmony. The raw forces surged outward and ford a triple-layered barrier around him, crackling and swirling like a divine storm.

The cold stopped. As if it had hit a wall.

He stood still, breathing hard, his skin tingling with lingering frost.

“What the hell was that?” he muttered, his voice heavy with tension. His heart thudded in his chest—not from fear, but from surprise.

Whatever it was, it hadn’t attacked directly—but it had co close enough to brush his soul.

His eyes swept the room again.

Everything was identical to how it was before. And yet—he knew sothing had been here.

Sothing powerful enough to suppress its presence from even him.

Just as Julian began to calm down, and the tension in his shoulder started to release, it hit him again.

A second wave—this ti far colder—slamd into his body.

His triple-layered barrier flickered violently, doing its best to absorb the incoming damage. However, the next mont, it shattered inward. Not broken completely, but pierced—as if sothing had broken through without even affecting the barrier.

Julian’s eyes widened in disbelief.

His breath remained stuck as his chest tightened, his lungs fighting for air like he was drowning in frost. He stumbled back, nearly falling, and quickly grasped the nearest wall for balance.

“What the actual fuck is this?!”

Goosebumps exploded across his skin, every strand of hair on his body standing.

Even my supre energies couldn’t stop that…?

That thought alone sent a deeper chill through him than the cold itself.

His body reacted on pure instinct. More energy surged from his core, raw and unrefined, as he reinforced his barrier, layering it again with a fourth invisible wave—willpower.

A desperate act.

Still, the pressure in his chest grew.

Tight… tighter… suffocating.

It wasn’t just physical. It was psychological, spiritual. Like sothing was trying to press into his very existence, to invade and mark him.

His knees buckled slightly.

His jaw clenched. But he refused to fall.

“Show yourself!” he growled, but no answer ca.

Only silence.

And with it—the chill deepened, suffocating everything around him. The air turned heavy, his breathing turning more difficult as if he was inhaling liquid iron. His ears rang as the pressure multiplied—tenfold now—each second dragging like an eternity.

Beat…….beat…beat…….beat…

His heartbeat turned irregular, stuttering like a broken instrunt. Then, suddenly—

Cough!

A sharp pain stabbed his chest, and Julian spat out a mouthful of blood. It gushed out dark and thick, splattering onto the cold marble floor beneath him. His vision blurred, and the world seed to darken.

His hands clawed at his chest, and he felt it, sothing unseen, sothing impossible, gripping his heart.

“I… need to do sothing…” he whispered. He dropped to one knee, blood trailing from the corner of his lips.

Clenching his teeth, Julian shoved the pain aside and forced his trembling body to sit cross-legged on the icy floor. He closed his eyes and drew his senses inward.

Inside was a different chaos.

His three supre energies were in complete disarray, colliding like warring gods. Lightning crackled violently, struggling to maintain form. Creative energy rippled, trying to bring balance. But the Death energy—it was different.

“The death energy is… rebelling…” Julian muttered, blood staining his lips.

It had waited for this mont.

While his mind was rattled and his aura weakened by the external assault, the Death energy seized its chance. It no longer moved in harmony—it attacked, thrashing against the others with feral aggression.

And it wasn’t just fighting. It was growing. Rapidly.

It had hidden its true nature, its true strength. Julian had been feeding it, nurturing it, letting it seep deeper into his being—and now, it turned on him.

“You damn fucker,” he growled, sweat dripping from his brow. “I shouldn’t have trusted anything with death in its na.”

The energy flared again, nearly tearing his inner organs. Julian’s body jolted in response—blood sprayed from his nose—and yet, he held on.

He was on the brink of collapse.

But he wasn’t giving in.

anwhile, the entire castle remained in a deep, tranquil slumber, untouched by the chaos unraveling just steps away. Not a single soul woke up. It was as if the darkness clawing at Julian’s very existence was a torture reserved solely for him.

Julian’s breath was ragged, his heart threatening to give up with every passing second. He had tried everything—forcing his Lightning and Creative energies to dominate the Death energy, attempting to rge them to bring balance, and even suppressing the rebellion through sheer will.

Nothing worked.

Every push was t with stronger resistance, and the Death energy only grew more unhinged, more wild.

At last, his hands fell to his sides. His eyes dimd with exhaustion and defeat.

“…I really am about to die,” he whispered, a bitter smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

His legs shook as he forced himself straight, using the wall for support. Blood dripped from his chin, and each breath scorched his throat.
