Now reading: Chapter 87 - 64: Convicted Demon: Oh Crap! It’s That Man from I Aggressively Stack Steel of the Heart in the Knight Order, a Eastern novel by Great SufferingDeep Hatred.

Worship the strong.

Worship blood and death.

A nature of rage and slaughter flowed in the blood of every Convicted Demon.

But this very trait, which made them easy for the Demon Grand Lords and Commanding Mages to manage, had a dangerous side effect. When a Convicted Demon developed fear toward an enemy...

That fear would beco even more unshakeable than the Thought Steel Seal Avernus himself had branded upon the minds of the Fallen!

Consider the perspective of this particular Convicted Demon, the one now showing fear. It was one of the most nurous Tier Two Demons in the Abyss Legion, the main force invading the mortal world. It was also one of the few Low Tier Demons with the capacity for thought, yet in the eyes of a Demon Grand Lord, it was nothing more than mass-produced, line-filling cannon fodder.

It was rely terrified of the ferocity of that "Human Great Demon."

’What wrong had it done?’

’Kill that Human Knight? An order like that is filled with a Demon Grand Lord’s signature dark humor.’

’As a Convicted Demon, I can handle slaughtering Imperial Infantry. I can even fight so ordinary, Third-class Knights.’

’But I beg those high-and-mighty Commanding Mages and Demon Grand Lords to open their eyes and take a good look! What do you see in that Human Knight’s soul?’

Slaughter incarnate!

Such rage! Such hatred!

’If this Human Knight would just see the light and offer his service to the supre Avernus, presenting him with slaughter and death, I would kneel right here and sing his praises!’

Albert had fought countless battles in his life.

He had killed thousands upon thousands of Demons.

But this was the first ti in his life he had ever seen a Convicted Demon—these bloodthirsty, insane creatures—show a look of fear!

If it was a matter of being overwheld by sheer power...

Back in the days when he fought alongside the Deputy Corps Commander of the Radiant Angel Legion, these Convicted Demons would rather die in a charge than show a hint of fear toward that Lord.

The only explanation, he feared, was that Reinhardt was one of Avernus’s chosen.

Of course.

Albert knew nothing about what had happened at Frostfire Fortress back then.

But this terrified Convicted Demon was different.

It had participated in the siege of Frostfire Fortress and had personally seen this human youth, back when he was just a new recruit, kill one of its comrades with a single bare-handed punch.

「Later.」

It later witnessed the epic battle between this Human Knight and Lord Dortmund outside the fortress! The Demon’s Blood from the Convicted Demon whose head Reinhardt had ripped off with his bare hands had even splattered across its face!

So it was afraid.

Although this went against its faith in the Supre Lord, the upside was that it hadn’t been torn in two, nor had its head and neck been shoved into its own chest cavity by that Human Knight to drown in its own blood.

Splattered Demon’s Blood coated the Morphic Armor, as Reinhardt single-handedly grabbed the corpse of a Convicted Demon to use as a flesh shield!

A hoarse, low roar filled with savagery!

The high-pressure chamber switched to the Aikacia Nozzle, and a stream of high-temperature Energy began to converge.

When a brilliant Mach Ring flashed for an instant in the dark, rainy night, a channel paved with flesh and blood suddenly appeared in Albert’s line of sight!

The walls of this channel were cast from the mangled bodies of Convicted Demons!

Mutilated limbs flew through the air from the powerful impact!

The splattering dark red Demon’s Blood mixed with shredded flesh, like a rain of blood falling from the sky!

In a single instant, Albert and Dietlinde’s bodies were splattered with foul-slling blood!

It was such a horrifying scene that even Albert, an elite of the Radiant Angels who had waded through mountains of corpses and seas of blood ti and again—even he was profoundly shaken by this spectacle constructed of death and shredded flesh!

His sword hand trembled slightly. He took a deep breath and looked at Reinhardt’s back.

If he hadn’t confird again and again that the young man had not yet been corrupted by Avernus, he would have charged over right now and, with the sword in his hand, executed Reinhardt in the na of the Empire!

But Reinhardt’s actions had successfully opened a path for him through the town, leading directly to the Radiant Waymark to the north.

The steam engine on Albert’s back let out a huge roar.

Flying close to the ground, he crossed Baihe Town before the Demon Army could complete its encirclent. He held Dietlinde and reached the location of the Waymark at top speed.

The Radiant Waymark teleportation device on Grillers was different from the Teleportation Gates Reinhardt had seen before; it was more like a giant, open-air steel warship.

Albert took out a tal cube overflowing with Witchcraft Power, placed it in the Waymark’s controller to confirm his identity, and selected the Star Zone coordinates on the console.

「Three seconds later.」

A spaceti-distorting singularity appeared above the Radiant Waymark. In the span of a breath, the Radiant Waymark, along with Dietlinde, vanished from the spot.

At that exact mont,

The spatial rift of the Abyssal Teleportation Gate finished forming.

The once-peaceful Northern Grassland had long since been desecrated by dark red Runes, transford into a land of death filled with pain and blood.

An overwhelming Demon Army poured into the mortal world. A dense, swarming tide of Demons completely engulfed Reinhardt and Albert!

This was a war with no reinforcents.

It was also a war with no end in sight.

Because the core command center of the Empire, even before the Steel Wings Mobile Combat Team could arrive in Grillers World, had already been subrged by an endless Demon Army.

Reinhardt.

The Radiant Angels.

Even the Loyalist Faction’s Death Battle Group.

They could not receive combat orders from the Holy Capital Military Affairs Departnt.

Their requests for help sent to the Military Affairs Departnt via the Radiant Channel vanished without a trace.

When to retreat, what the strategic objective was, when reinforcents and supplies would arrive... Their inquiries received no response whatsoever.

A grand war is not a duel between two Knights.

Nor is it simply about bleeding and sacrifice.

It is a conflict between two vast systems!

Strategic objectives, material supplies, reinforcents and backup plans, retreat routes... all of this heavy work required the Clerks of the Imperial Military Affairs Departnt to calculate and plan day and night.

But now...

...it was as if every last Clerk in the Radiant Holy City’s massive Military Affairs Departnt—an organization of a million people—had been utterly wiped out in the great rebellion.

...

The number of Demons grew and grew, and in that mont, the entire Northern Grassland had beco a projection of the Abyss in the mortal world.

A Bone Mountain and Blood River.

They could even faintly hear cruel laughter and agonized wails rising from the heart of the slaughter.

These blasphemous sounds... if a Mortal of the Empire heard even a whisper, their soul would be corrupted by the Abyss’s depravity, and they would turn into a bloodthirsty maniac.

Even they, the Empire’s most loyal Knights, began to feel negative, murderous emotions stirring within them under the influence of these sounds.

Countless Demons.

Countless Demons...

This was the only thing the Knights still holding their ground in the Northern Lands of Lanshi Province, on Grillers World, could perceive.

The rainy night was over.

The light of dawn was gradually appearing on the horizon, but the Knights could see no hope in their battle. They were surrounded by only an endless, unkillable horde of Demons!

The battlefield was completely fractured.

Small squads of two or three Knights were still locked in bloody combat with the Demons!

However, this was not the most desperate mont yet.

A sudden pulse of Mighty Power, like a throbbing heart, erupted from within Baihe Town!

Fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with Reinhardt, the color drained from Albert’s face. He knew the summoning ritual was complete. An Abyssal Great Demon was about to arrive!
