"Don't give up so easily."
"LOKI!!!"
The Blood Elves around erupted in cheers, their faces lighting up as though I were so kind of savior.
It was ridiculous.
I'm a damn Half-Human, stuck in the middle of this war, and yet here I am, helping them. What the hell am I even doing?
I glanced at Edryn, still trembling on the ground, barely clinging to life. Without thinking, I had intervened-kicking Rodolf away from him.
Rodolf and Cylien were supposed to be my allies in this war. They weren't the villains here; they were defending their holand, Sancta Vedelia. And yet...
I clenched my fists tightly, shaking off the gnawing thoughts clawing at the edges of my mind.
No. Stop overthinking.
I ca here for a reason: to save these idiotic Blood Elves. As reckless and stubborn as they were, they weren't bad people. There was sothing driving them beyond greed-a purpose, sothing far more important.
I had to put an end to this battle. Sohow.
-BOOM!
My attention snapped to the crater where Rodolf had landed. The air around him rippled as his Prana exploded outward, gusts of prana swirling like a storm.
Slowly, he stood, wiping the blood from his lips. A smirk twisted his face.
"Well, well," he chuckled. "Finally, soone capable. But I don't enjoy fighting won."
I snorted. "The 'woman' just sent you flying and made you bleed. Maybe think twice before underestimating her."
Rodolf's eyes narrowed, his grin fading.
He was easy to rile up. Just as impulsive and hotheaded as that idiot Yanis.
-BAM!
In a flash, Rodolf closed the distance between us, his fist hurtling toward my face with terrifying speed. I barely managed to raise my arm in defense. The impact reverberated through my bones, sending a sharp jolt up my arm as I slid back several ters.
The force of his blow was imnse, his Prana radiating with raw, feral strength. But I stood my ground, absorbing the attack.
Rodolf's gaze flickered with realization, his smirk returning, but tinged with wariness.
"You're not normal, are you?" He muttered, studying with a mixture of suspicion and intereste.
A faint smile tugged at my lips. "Sorry, but I won't hold back this ti."
"What-"
Before he could reply, I lunged forward, my fist glowing with Ruah.
-CRACK!
My punch connected with his jaw, the force of it sending him hurtling backward. He tumbled through the air, crashing into the ground a dozen ters away.
Rodolf groaned as he struggled to stand, his expression twisted in shock as he touched his bloodied lips.
He was a werewolf. Not just any werewolf- a royal-blooded one. Physically, he should have been stronger than any other race. Elves, especially, were considered the weakest in terms of raw physicality. And yet, with a single punch, I had sent him flying.
The battlefield grew silent, the stunned faces of the Blood Elves and the Valachians alike reflecting their disbelief.
"Not so tough now, are you?" I muttered, flexing my fingers as Ruah still danced faintly along my arm.
"Can I leave him to you, Loki?" Shuri asked. She was locked in quite a battle with Cylien.
I was impressed she could fight head on against an awakened Cylien, I guess I should have expected this much from Elashor's trusted second.
I nodded, sparing her a brief glance. "Just don't kill her," I added.
I didn't particularly care about Cylien but she was Celeste's close friend. If sothing happened to her, this girl was going to cry again.
Shuria grimaced but didn't take her eyes off her opponent. "I know that already. Killing a Princess isn't exactly on my agenda."
There was no way she would kill such a precious advantage.
"Sa for you. Don't kill him," She added to since Rodolf was a Moonfang Prince.
I turned my attention back to Rodolf and smirked, "I'll try, but it might be... difficult."
"Y-You bastard..." Rodolf growled, his lips twisting into a feral grin.
I took a step forward, eting his gaze. "I don't want to hurt you, Princess. So how about you give up? Don't worry, we Elves don't harm powerless won in distress."
"Moonfang Bestial Form!"
Rodolf's answer was imdiate.
Prana erupted from his body, a luminous aura engulfing him as his transformation began. His limbs elongated unnaturally, becoming sinewy and sharp-edged. His figure grew leaner,
more feral.
"Delta," he growled, his transformation complete.
I barely had ti to appreciate the infamous form of the Werewolves-sleek, agile, deadly— before he moved.
-BAM!
A blur streaked past , and pain exploded across my back as claws tore through my clothes and raked my skin. I stumbled forward with a groan, the world spinning for a heartbeat.
He was fast. Too fast.
Rodolf began circling , his speed an overwhelming whirlwind. His footsteps were near silent, his figure a phantom flickering at the edge of my vision. I struggled to track him, even
as I muttered, "Reflect-"
-BAM!
Before the mirror could even materialize, his claws slashed across my arm, shredding through fabric and skin. Blood welled up, and I clenched my teeth, hissing in pain.
"Damn it," I muttered, glancing at the deep gouges on my left arm. My fingers brushed against the slick warmth of blood.
As if I didn't already have enough scars marking this battered body!
Persephone's mirrors were useless against him. At our current level of Ascension, we were almost evenly matched. I had the edge being at the peak of the Eighth Ascension, but it wasn't enough to bridge the gap in senses. His speed remained beyond my ability to fully perceive.
Which ant only one thing: I had to make my body react faster.
"Raven Arts."
A crimson aura ignited around , tendrils of blood flickering like blood-soaked flas. My skin paled as the toll on my body beca imdiate, but it was necessary.
Rodolf circled again. Then, with a blur of motion, he lunged.
-Spurt!
His claws raked across my sides, a flash of pain and the warmth of blood spreading instantly. But this ti, I moved faster. Before he could vanish into the whirlwind again, my hand shot
out and grabbed hold of his shirt.
Rodolf's yellow slit eyes narrowed dangerously as he realized his mistake.
He slashed at with great speed, claws aiming for my face. I raised my arm in defense,
letting his strikes tear into my flesh instead. The sharp sting radiated through my arm, but I
held firm.
"My turn." A wicked smirk curled on my lips as I tightened my grip on his shirt, my free hand
forming into a solid fist.
The drawback of the Delta Bestial Form was clear: though Rodolf was blindingly fast, his body had beco weaker. Exploiting that flaw, I summoned a mirror beneath us.
With a surge of strength, I lifted Rodolf high into the air. His struggles grew frantic, but it was
too late.
"Reflect this fucker!!" I roared, slamming him down with all my might.
-BAM!!
"A-ARGHH!!"
Rodolf's face collided with the mirror in a sickening crunch, the reflective surface cracking beneath the impact. Blood splattered in all directions as his body was flung into the air from
the force.
Mid-flight, Rodolf twisted his body with amazing agility and landed on the ground in a
crouch, clutching his chest and glaring at . His breathing was labored, and his expression
was twisted.
"I'd recomnd switching forms, Rodolf," I sneered, pulling a small vial from my pocket. Without hesitation, I emptied the healing liquid over my bleeding arms and back. The burning sensation was imdiate, as though acid seared my wounds, but I clenched my teeth
and bore it.
Rodolf's snarl deepened as he pushed himself upright. "Moonfang Bestial Form... ALPHA!!"
His transformation began anew. His body expanded, becoming taller and bulkier, his limbs thickening with dense muscle. His elongated fra now radiated raw strength. Though he sacrificed speed, the gleam in his sharp eyes warned that his focus and strength had increased exponentially.
With a ground-shaking kick, Rodolf launched himself toward like a cannonball. Even with his reduced speed, he was still fast-dangerously fast. But now, I could see him.
"Reflect-aghhh!!"
The mirror I summoned shattered instantly as Rodolf's fist slamd into my face. Pain erupted like a thunderclap, and I felt the sickening crunch of my nose breaking.
I was hurled through the air, crashing into the side of a house. "F-Fuck..." I groaned, the impact leaving my back screaming in agony. Blood poured from my
nose, and I pinched it with trembling fingers.
"Damn it..." I muttered, bracing myself. With a single, sharp motion, I twisted my nose back
into place.
-Crack!
"Ugh..." A tear slipped down my cheek from the sharp, burning pain.
But there was no ti to recover. Rodolf was already mid-air, closing the distance with
alarming speed.
He might be really pissed off.
"Reflect.." I summoned three mirrors this ti in front of .
Once Rodolf was close to he swung his claws glowing with even denser Prana.
-CRACK!
-CRACK!
-Crack!
"Oh, shit..."
-SPURT!
