"...Fine," she said.

Finally.

"Then—"

"But I'm coming with you."

I blinked, taking a mont to process her words before letting out, "What?"

"You heard ," Roda said, arms crossed stubbornly. "I'm coming with you to kill her."

"Why would you do that?"

"Do I need to justify myself?" She asked. "She killed my uncle. She wiped out so many of my people in my world. I want to make sure she dies before she can even move a finger in this one."

Fair enough.

I could understand that. Revenge ran deep—especially when the wounds never healed. But that wasn't what worried .

"Are you even in a condition to fight?" I asked her.

That spell Nevia hit her with wasn't just so flashy lightshow. It took a chunk out of her—physically and ntally. I saw it.

But Roda only shrugged like it was nothing. "I'm still strong. And I'm the Prophetess, rember? I can still pull my weight."

Right… that much was obvious from her hair and her eyes. That white sheen only the Prophetess had.

"You're really the Prophetess of your world, huh…" I muttered under my breath, mostly to myself.

She turned to , brows scrunching. "Am I not in this world?"

"Nope. In this world, you're… practically useless. If I wanted to put it nicely," I said with a straight face.

She glared daggers at , but I kept going unfazed.

"The Prophetess here is Celeste."

"C–Celes?" Roda stuttered. "That Celes? The one who— She hates everything related to the Prophetess and Apostle crap! She even tried to cut down the Holy Tree once!"

She was genuinely shaken. Like her brain had just overheated.

So… I guess Celes from her world was a bit more… rebellious.

"Well…things are different here."

That felt like an understatent. Honestly, I wasn't even sure how to explain it. Maybe… maybe it was because of ? The way I reached out to her back then, when Lomar had her on the ropes—maybe that was the turning point?

Or was I just being a narcissist?

Still… I did see how much her view changed after that day.

"Unbelievable…" Roda muttered again, still stuck in her own little spiral of disbelief. "S–So she beca the Prophetess… and Victor, the Apostle, right? Did they get engaged or sothing?"

"Not really," I replied casually. "Victor only sees her as a friend. And it's mutual. Besides, Victor's already got two girlfriends."

Her eyes blinked. "Two—? Who?"

"You and Selene."

"...!"

Roda froze once more.

Her brain did a full system shutdown.

Eyes wide, mouth slowly falling open.

Not because of her na ntioned but…

"Selene?" Roda repeated, her voice squeaking a little. "Victor and Selene? As in—Selene?"

"Selene? Yeah, she's all lovey-dovey with Victor right now," I nodded, smiling just a little at Roda's stunned expression. I couldn't really bla her—if I were in her shoes, I'd probably be just as shocked.

"T–That woman… she killed people! She's dangerous!" Roda sputtered, her voice rising with disbelief.

"She lost it after Victor rejected her, right? Went on a rampage until you guys had no choice but to take her down and end her madness?"

Her eyes widened—clearly surprised I knew that much. After a mont, she gave a small nod.

"Well, things don't always play out the sa way here," I said with a shrug. "This Selene…she's... different. Calr. Doesn't even mind that Victor's seeing other girls now—he did choose her first, after all."

Roda stared at for a long second before muttering, "T–This is… amazing." She looked genuinely awestruck.

Yeah, no kidding.

Selene's descent into her villainess route was only prevented because of the sacrifices Elizabeth and I made. Without that, things would've gone very differently. Honestly, if I told Roda about Alvara right now, she might straight-up pass out. So… probably best to save that reveal for later or maybe never…

"So… Elizabeth is alive too?" She asked, voice filled with cautious hope.

"Yeah. She's safe."

In Selene's bad ending, there was a strong chance Elizabeth wouldn't have made it. It was good to see this world diverging from that fate.

"That's… really good," Roda said with a soft smile, her ears twitching in that adorable way they do when she lets her guard down. She could be really cute when she wasn't being a total hardass.

"Anyway," I continued, shifting the topic, "I can answer your questions later if you've got more, but right now let's focus on the dusa situation."

She gave a serious nod. "dusa's currently holed up on a small island just off Sancta Vedelia. The problem is, getting there without being spotted will be difficult. The place is under tight surveillance—and guarded by Behemoth."

I guess so since she was one of the Executives.

"And even if we do manage to reach the island," she added, "there's still the lab to deal with. If dusa catches wind that we're coming, she'll run. Worse—she'll inform Behemoth about us."

I raised an eyebrow. "So… what? You're saying we need to infiltrate the island like so kind of spy mission?"

"Yes," Roda said bluntly. "A stealth approach is the best option. Taking her by surprise gives us the best chance. But we'll need a pass—sothing that lets us through security without raising suspicion. My uncle Jefer managed to corner her once—completely surrounded the lab until she had no choice but to fight. But since you don't want the Heads involved, we'll need to do this quietly."

Her tone had a noticeable edge—yeah, she was still bitter about what I said regarding the Heads.

"Good then," I said with a small smile. "I'm guessing you've got sothing in mind if you brought up a pass?"

Roda let out a low groan, dragging a hand through her hair before giving a reluctant nod. "It's not exactly a pass," she said. "More like... an alternate route. There's an underwater path that leads straight to the island, and if we play it smart, we can slip into the lab from beneath without anyone noticing if we had a way…."

My brow lifted. "An underwater route?"

She nodded again. "Yeah. After the attack on Fangoria and that full-scale offensive against the Behemoths—where we lost way too many people—the Houses launched an extermination campaign to wipe out the remaining nests. I was part of that operation. That's how we found one of their... let's just call it a workspace."

I leaned back, interest piqued. "Sounds perfect, then."

Roda frowned, shaking her head. "It's really not. If we want to approach without being spotted, we'll have to start swimming underwater from miles away—outside their radar range. And we'd need to move fast. Unless you happen to have a high-tech submarine that can completely evade Behemoth sensors, getting to dusa's quarters unseen is practically impossible. When we attacked it in my world, we didn't care about being discreet. We just hit the island from all sides and sent a squad through the underwater tunnel as a flanking team."

I smiled again, already thinking of a certain soone who practically lived in the water. "Well... I might have just the right way to pull this off—quietly and fast."

Roda looked at like I'd just told her I could breathe fire. "Seriously?"

"Trust ," I said confidently. "As long as you know exactly where we need to go, and you don't make us waste any ti, I've got a way to get us inside before they even know what's happening."

Fast. Quiet. And unseen.

But first, I needed to talk to Vina.

"I'll handle that tomorrow," I said, flopping back onto my bed with a satisfied sigh.

The day had been long—ntally exhausting in so ways—but strangely fulfilling. Spending ti with Layla had that effect.

"Fine…" Roda muttered, but instead of settling down, she stood awkwardly at the edge of the bed, arms crossed, staring at with a look that was sowhere between expectant and irritated.

I glanced up at her. "What?"

She raised a brow. "I need a place to sleep."

"Oh… right."

Technically, I could've just gotten her another room—hell, the thought crossed my mind—but that tiny voice in my head reminded how little trust I had in her. It was smarter to keep her close, especially after what happened last ti. The girl had the tendency to sneak off and hunt for snacks like a starving raccoon.

"Here," I said, patting the space beside on the bed.

She blinked. "What?"

I t her glare with a calm shrug, only for her ears to twitch—those things had a mind of their own and kept attracting my attention.

I sighed, unable to resist. "What? Don't tell you're embarrassed—"

A pillow smacked straight across the face with enough force to make groan.

"Damn, that hurts…"

"Move over," Roda said. "I'm a woman. So obviously, I should get the bed."

I blinked. Was this woman serious?

"You're also—if I recall correctly—the sa person who people claim is my prostitute. So maybe, just maybe, you could try to adapt a little for once—ugh!"

Before I could even finish that sentence, she leapt at with a pillow like she was diving into a wrestling match.

"I'm going to kill you!" She shouted, smothering my face with the pillow like it owed her money.

"C–Calm down!" I struggled beneath her, flailing like a man caught in a bedsheet tornado.

"I told you to stop calling that!" She yelled, her cheeks flushed red—not from exertion, but sheer, burning embarrassnt.

"You literally called yourself that!"

"Shut up!"

As I flailed under her relentless pillow assault and contemplated whether using Sloth to teleport out of this ridiculous situation would be overkill, the door creaked open ever so slightly.

"Pardon for my intrusion, sir…" ca the voice of the elderly staffman again—the sa one who had a habit of appearing at the worst possible monts.

He froze when his eyes landed on the scene before him: pinned beneath Roda, her body perched over mine.

A smirk crept onto his weathered face as he let out a low chuckle. "Oh… please, do continue."

Then, as calmly as ever, he closed the door behind him with a quiet click.

"Damn it! That creepy old bastard always shows up at the worst possible ti!" I growled, yanking the pillow off my face.

"You should be asking why he's entering your room without knocking in the first place…" Roda muttered, grimacing as she looked down at .

I sat up, tossing the pillow aside. "Nothing would've happened if you didn't always manage to end up in the most suspicious, misleading positions with !"

"…"

Roda just stared at , completely silent now—whether she was contemplating her next move or calculating the physics of hitting with a lamp, I couldn't tell.

I averted slightly my gaze.

"Listen—ugh!"
