Ravi watched as Arlen floated down. The mont he landed on the ground, he made his way to him. A huge smile on his face.
"Ravi." He called out like he was tasting the na all over again like there was sothing to his na that made it even more incredible than its four letters. And the way he was looking at him made his entire body heat up.
It was as if no one was there like he was stripping him raw, enthralled. His heart thumped in his chest as he looked into those ocean-blue eyes.
They were bright but calm, as if the owner had resolved sothing in his mind. The light in their depths flickered lightly, like the reflection of sunlight on the surface of the ripples of the sea, calm and yet a wondrous sight to behold. But it was not just the beauty, there was sothing almost tender in that gaze.
Was he hallucinating? It would not be the first ti.
He looked at him again. He was not wrong, the light in those eyes had changed, there was sothing, sothing different in the way that Arlen looked at him. He did not know what it was but he liked it, he liked it so much.
"Captain. I ca as soon as Officer Adams called ."
Arlen blinked and then looked back at the crowd, "Yes. 30 minutes ago, soone leaked the news of the kidnapping and the protesters went wild. We found so of their posts and the person had subtly pointed the fingers to Sunshade, claiming that they are a subsidiary of Eclipse."
"That is terrible. Exactly what you did not want to happen, What?" In just a few sentences, Arlen had looked at him more than five tis, was he just being extra sensitive?
"Nothing. I just thought that it would be uncomfortable but I feel even more comfortable. Ravi, after this protest is handled, do you want us to play ten questions again?"
Ravi was puzzled and then the mory of the ga ca back, what he had done that night, his ears flushed and he coughed, "Do whatever you want." He said, evading his gaze.
Arlen leaned forward with a grin, "You are always like this. You are always giving an inch, Are you not afraid that one day, I will take a yard." With the sunlight sharpening his sculpted jaw and proud nose, he was even more handso than ever, the mischief in his eyes as he stared at him was intense enough to banish his thoughts from his brain. Ravi forgot what he wanted to say.
He swallowed as their eyes t again, and Ravi found himself unable to move. The tension between them crackled through the air, palpable and heavy, the electric kind that held one’s heart in suspension. The way Arlen looked at him...
Fuck! Ravi felt like he was drunk. The wind blew past, causing a shiver to course down his body. His gaze moved on Arlen’s pink full lips, his eyes lingered on it and his body throbbed with desperation to touch it, to kiss it, to know just how those lips would feel against his.
Oh, Immortal Ale!
"Captain! Ravi!"
And like that the spell broke, causing Ravi to move back imdiately. He took one last look at Arlen before looking at Lisa. He wondered whether so sirens or nymphs or immortal fox descended on this planet, got married and the line brought Arlen. He was just too enchanting, it was unreal.
He shook his head to clear those thoughts before focusing on what Lisa was saying, "Captain. Those inside the building just called, they said that you should let down the shield so they can leave."
The windshield moved slowly still, completely creating a fence between the protesters and the Sunshade Mall.
"Do they want to be stoned?" Ravi could not help but bite, a little angry that this was the reason that the two of them...
The two of them, Ravi bit his lips. What was he imagining? He suddenly wished that Malik was not out of town, this was the kind of thing he would like to consult him about. He did not have any other friends that he could chat with about this kind of thing.
Were he and Malik even friends?
A low chuckle sounded by his side and he turned to look at Arlen who smiled softly at him.
His heart pounded again. What is going on?
Those eyelashes fluttered, long, thick, and far too pretty.
Ravi swallowed, why did he feel like every single movent of Arlen today was to seduce him, or was that his self-control which was just severely lacking all of a sudden?
Lisa looked at the Captain and then at Ravi, a slight trace of suspicion entering her gaze, "Captain." She reminded again and Arlen looked away from Ravi.
"Who contacted you? A staff mber. Wait, let call the Chief."
Arlen worked fast, calling the Chief and then calling the manager of the mall and talking with him. Different expression flashed on his face before he beca much more calm and then smiled.
He must have achieved what he wanted.
His smile was infectious, causing Ravi to smile in turn. He sighed, looking around for what to do. He could not stand here all day, gazing at Arlen, although he did not mind doing it.
He could do it for ages.
Asher is right, he was love-sick.
Soon, Sarah ca close to him,
"I just saw the Captain here just now. Where is he?" There was a tense expression on her face, very tense and she got a little too close, aning that she did not want anyone to hear what she was saying.
"He is right there. What is wrong? They are calm now." Ravi looked at the windshield, it held strong and most of the rioters had started to calm down, they dropped their stones, opting for chants instead of violence and vandalism.
"Captain. I just heard sothing." Her voice was extrely serious as the two of them walked to where Arlen was making calls upon calls.
Arlen locked the phone and concentrated on her, "What did you hear?"
Sarah swallowed, her fingers asking, "There are two people in the group of protesters, last row, they are wearing black hoodies and black trousers, their faces are a little weird, like they are too normal. The male said that these people are just docile, too weak in this fucking town. They should crack it up, that they did not do all these things for this poor ass reaction. Then the woman said..." Sarah stopped speaking at this point and swallowed.
"Calm down, Sarah, what did the woman say." Arlen coaxed softly
"That they can just cut off the ear of the college bitch and send it to her crowd."
"Okay. Don’t look at them. Just continue minding the crowd. I would make a few calls. I would be right back. Just act normal."
He turned to the car, picking up his phone and calling Vega. After his calls, he slipped the phone into his pocket and moved toward the glass walls of the Sunshade Mall. Using the reflection in the mirror, he saw the two people, brown hair and brown eyes, their features were just too average.
Extrely average. That was a mask that Arlen could recognize so well, as it was made by his father. His lips thinned as he contemplated his next actions. Two of those people were either phantom mbers or sympathizers.
His eyes widened a bit when he saw the man reach for his phone, and then picked it up. He answered it and his eyes moved towards Arlen, their eyes eting.
The next things that happened were a bit of a blur. He moved quickly, and with a flick of his wrist, a thin rope-like tornado erged from the air, snaking quickly to the two of them. The tornado rope writhed and twisted, its funnel cloud extending and retracting like a whip as it lashed out to ensnare the two villains.
The man cursed, opened his mouth, and sang a single, sustained note. It was oft, almost imperceptible but the vibration within the note rippled through the entire place. Glasses began to vibrate and all of them shattered at once. The entire walls of the Sunshade Mall shattered as the shards of glass descended on the protesters.
Arlen turned in the nick of ti, the windshield thickened and began to densify forming an invisible barrier around the crowd, The glass shards began to fall, hitting the barrier and bouncing off. Arlen gritted his teeth, he could only deal with the one on the Sunshade Mall, the glass from the car windows around had scattered in the crowd, leading to low screams and gasps of pain.
The tornado whip fastened around the man pulled him closer as Arlen looked around. He could have sworn that there were two of them in the rope.
"Officer..." Arlen, froze when he saw the second person holding soone in front of her, a blade pressed against his throat.
