Ravi’s entire body tensed with every word that left Arlen’s lips but he did not move to attack Arlen. He trusted Arlen with all his heart.
His entire body relaxed at that thought and Arlen smiled when he saw that.
"Good. I might not love Asher the sa way you do but I care for him imnsely and I believe one day I will love him as my own too." He got up from where he was sitting and moved over to the trunk, pulling out a briefcase and he opened it.
"I am glad you told today. Because I have been wondering just now to bring this up because you might need it when you go to the parents’ eting on Monday, when he passes the entrance exams.
"Bring what up." He received the docunt that Arlen gave him and he gasped. It was an identity.
Asher West. Guardian, Ravi West.
It was an ironclad identity that showed he had been hoschooled for the entirety of his life with tutors that they could call as references. Health records, everything. Ability: Animal transformation.
"I know you said I should not make any important decisions about you without telling you but I had already made this before you told that so technically, please don’t be mad. I just hoped this would make it easier for you."
At this mont, all of Ravi’s emotions overflowed. All he could do was close his eyes and slowly decrease the distance between them until their lips t in a kiss.
It was a different kiss from the one before.
This kiss was quiet.
To Ravi, finding Arlen’s lips and sealing them with his own seed to have beco an instinct. His human instinct and when he found them, he sought them even more desperately. It was as If he had sunk to the button of the sea, only relying on Arlen’s breath for air-like for these few seconds.
He was alive because of him.
"I could save you, Ravi. I would always save you, dear but do not expect to lend a hand to any Sentinel even if you so wish it. Don’t pray to for matters like this again."
Arlen cared for him, he knew this but he did not even dare to dream that his care would carry over to those special in his life. There was no reason to do so and yet he had, like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Tears fell from his eyes without a word, the tears silently seeping into the space where their lips touched.
Ravi tasted them, they were both bitter and salty. Resembling the taste of the blue sea.
The thought made him cry even harder and Arlen pulled away.
Ravi tried to smile but he could not, the tears would not stop. It was as if the worst state that he had ever been in his life was on display in front of the person he loved the most.
"Ravi." Aelen’s voice was so gentle, like a peaceful ocean, every word he said was like the waves crashing onto the beach before returning to the ocean. Even the harshest grains of sand would be gently smoothed out.
"Ravi." He called again, "What is wrong? How can I make it better?"
"I am okay." He said, repeating it several tis but his shoulder continued to tremble as he choked on his tears. The sound of him choking back his cobs was becoming increasingly clearer and could be heard again in the quiet park.
Ravi did not know what was wrong with him and his fingers itched for a jar of wine right now. He did not want to make things awkward for Arlen. He did not want to worry about him but the tears seed to be beyond his control, the emotions just flowing out of his eyes.
It was as if he was stripped clean and the weakest corners of his heart that were unknown to everyone were suddenly touched.
"Cry. Cry if you want to cry. I am here." He gently patted Ravi on his back as if he was coaxing a child, trying his best to offer so comfort through his actions.
And Ravi stopped choking back his tears and cried. He did not know why he was crying in particular but it was as if those tears had been in his chest for a very long ti.
"You should not be kind to , Arlen. You should not like ." He could rember the dreams that had been haunting him all of a sudden and he felt it again.
His hands were so filled with blood and his body was covered with blood. He was so...Ravi wanted to disappear. He did not know where to go, probably sowhere where the shadows were so dark, so planet where there was no living soul. He wanted to hide himself, hide in a place where Arlen would not find him.
"Ravi."
"You should not touch . I am a terrible person."
"Ravi."
"I am a murderer. I can call it whatever but I am just a killer. Arlen, don’t be kind to . I would hurt you. I hurt everything, like so kind of poison."
Arlen’s body shook as he pulled Ravi into a hug, "Ravi. Snap out of it. Ravi. Ravi, don’t say such words. I forbid such things again. Ravi, let’s go ho. Let’s go ho."
His body was so warm. It was so warm that it hurt.
"Uh!" Choking with emotions, he gave a stifled reply. It was as if sothing that he had hastily sewn with threads had suddenly broken into pieces. Ravi could not lift his foot, he couldn’t make another step anymore, unable to go either forward or backward.
Like a doll, he grasped Arlen’s hand tightly and would not let go. Arlen had to forgo the car, he wrapped his arms around Ravi carefully and pressed the wrapping device.
