"A bit thinner. Like this." Ravi showed Asher as he continued to slice the cucumbers on the board. When he was done, he began to slice the cherry tomatoes, the red onions, and dills.
"Do you know what, how about you carry that bowl and here..." He took out so peanut butter, "Have a snack, watch a movie. Just relax."
Asher’s hand that was reaching the basket of cherry tomatoes paused and then he chuckled. He took a handful and scurried out of the kitchen.
If Asher continued to eat the cherry tomatoes and cucumbers, he had a feeling that there would be nothing left. He took out two of the biggest mixing bowls he had and poured the sliced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and sliced red onions with dill together and mixed them before adding so crumbled feta cheese.
He needed to go to the market soon; this feta cheese was the only cheese remaining in the fridge. He would have gone over but there was the possibility that his fridge even though empty would be ten tis more bountiful than Malik’s.
In a separate small bowl, Ravi whisked so olive oil, lemon juice, pepper, a bit of sugar, and salt. He tasted it and then added a little red wine vinegar before he poured the dressing all over the cucumber mixture and tossed gently to cover the cucumbers and tomatoes completely, He then added so toasted sunflower seeds that he had bought for snacks.
After tossing it, he covered it and kept it in the refrigerator.
The second part of the sliced cucumbers had been salted and covered for five minutes. It was not yet ti so Ravi went outside to get so green onions. The green onions were not on the farm but in small pots hanging on the balcony.
He used the hanging scissors to chop the amount he would need and returned inside. He sliced them up and the red onions for so color. He mixed everything, adding a quarter cup of toasted sesa seeds.
The dressing was different from the first cucumber salad. He poured a little sesa oil into the smaller bowl and then a tablespoon of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and a tablespoon of chili oil. He added another spoonful of chili crisp, a teaspoon of sugar, and so minced garlic. After tossing it gently, he used a fork to try it.
Ravi nodded and put so aside in a small bowl for Asher to taste.
"I want to eat so noodles. Can I? It would go so well together."
Ravi could not bear to say no so he nodded, adding so more cucumber salad to the bowl he was carrying. Asher smiled and carried three cups of noodles; then opened the fridge to take three bottles of waterlon juice before rushing out to look for Sage and Lana.
Ravi’s lips twitched before settling into a small smile. He went back to open the fridge, Ravi wished that he had so bones so he could make so bone soup. But even if he should rush out to get so, it would not be ready by the ti he should go to the hospital.
But he should make so kind of soup. When visiting a sick person, sothing you should try to bring is soup.
At least there was so beef in the freezer and so stock fridge in the pantry. He took them all out along with all the eggs. Ravi was in a clearing mood as he bought out everything that he possibly could and rubbed his jaw looking at them.
He washed the rice until it was clear and then put it in the rice cooker to steam. He washed the beef and the stuck fish and added it into a pot. Cutting the white part of the green onions, he also added ginger to the pot and covered it.
The rice in the pantry would not be enough for seven people so Ravi thought of an alternative and took out so flour.
"I need so more mixing bowls at this rate."
He took out a bamboo toothpick and his power stread through it, transforming the small wooden stick into a large glass bowl.
He added the flour, so yeast, baking powder, sugar, and so water. He kneaded the dough quickly and after a few minutes, a fat white dough sat on the wooden cooking board. Ravi transford another toothpick into a cling wrap film and covered the dough.
Next was the filling for the buns. Since the soup was going to be spicy, Ravi did not want to make the filling too spicy so he did not add any chili pepper, just so soy sauce, ground ginger, a pinch of salt, chopped green onions, and sesa oil to the minced pork and mixed them.
As he placed the rollout bun in the pan, he added so water, closed the lid, and allowed it to simr over low heat.
He opened the pot and was pleased that the stockfish had softened sowhat, so he began to add other ingredients. Peanuts, tofu, mushrooms, kelp. So spice powder, garlic chili paste, and so hot pepper.
The mont he added the chili paste, it was like the whole house was infused with a delicious fragrance. The hours he spent making it suddenly felt worth it.
So daylily, so vinegar and seaweed shreds. Ravi soon switched off the gas. The buns were also ready and he took out the lid, allowing the steam to feel the room. The rice was also done. Ravi took out the two cucumber salads from the fridge, and looked around the feel table feeling like sothing was still missing.
’Ah, cold noodles.’
It was one of Lisa’s favorite foods. That would take less than five minutes to make. After cooking the noodles, Ravi rinsed them with cold water, scooped them into a large bowl, and added so cucumbers from the spicy salad, so green beans, scallions, and corn. For so strange reason, she loved sweet corn in her cold noodles; he drizzled the noodles with chili oil and took out the dipping sauce to drizzle a bit. He stirred them together and added the food to the last layer of the four-layered food flask.
