"Ravi, I want to go back to the Capital. I do not want you and my parents to et for the first ti at my Mother’s birthday party and it is always a party. I want to et them, all of them officially. I want to show you off to my family. You are the one for and I would like them to know that."
Seeing Ravi swallow, he hurriedly tried to mitigate, "You can think of it like a vacation. This case was a lot, I was thinking this weekend...or next weekend, we can go to the Capital. I can rent a ship, we will go through Paven and Leonora, we should reach the Capital in a week, and we can fish, relax and stop at the Harbors. I even checked with Asher’s school, he could take classes online if he wants to co. I do not think it would affect him much, although he really wants to beat that girl so I do not know if he would want to co. The boat is very sorry so If Sage or Mal..."
Ravi kissed him.
Arlen’s eyes closed instinctively, leaving him to focus only on their lips brushing, each press a little firr. Fuller. Each touch was almost chaste but still felt like a hypnotic, addicting drug, making one crave it more and more.
Ravi’s kisses were mostly like this. Like thousands of words wrapped in one movent. This was him saying you are the one for too.
Ravi’s palm pressed against Arlen’s jaw and his fingers tickled along his neck, tracing his cheeks. It was so soft, the touch so gentle that it sent shivers down his spine.
He cradled Arlen’s head in his both hands and kissed him thoroughly, carefully. Making slow sweeps of his tongue, then moving away slightly and then back again to tangle together once more.
It was monts like this that reminded Arlen of how good a kisser Ravi was.
As Ravi pulled away, Arlen grinned, "Is that a yes or a no?"
"What do you think?" There was a fond exasperation in his voice. He did not understand it before, the look that Ravi gave him at tis. His gaze contained rare traces of indulgence towards the younger generation.
Before Arlen had chucked it to what he had felt was Ravi’s circumstances. He had thought that Ravi had grown up and was trained as so rcenary for so old family in the Capital. Turns out that he had suffered even more than he had ever imagined. Missions upon missions for hundreds of years. Losing people over and over again. He was so strong. The strongest person Arlen had ever t.
The most amazing.
"Yes. But you would have to ask them first?"
Ravi smiled. He smiled a lot now, and Arlen could recall the first ti he had seen him smile. That gloominess faded to reveal sothing so warm and bright. Ravi had an exquisite smile, that kind of smile that made one feel like they had dug through mines to see such a treasure.
The appetizer was jellied peas and shrimp. The shrimp was sliced into 6 uniford slices, the soft green of the peas complented the bright whiteness of the shrimp at. Restaurants like this prided themselves in presentation, it made Arlen miss the simple restaurants in Davenport.
He recalled the first restaurant he had gone to in Davenport. It had been with Ravi after their investigation of the laundry.
"I already feel so dizzy. Officer West, if I die in your car, it is going to be difficult for you."
"I am a police officer. I know how to bury a body." Ravi had joked and even now, the joke made him smile.
He tried the shrimp, it was fresh and delicate but his trip down the mory lane made him crave sothing else.
Two pots of fish filet porridge peppered liver, garlic green beans, and stead milk egg pudding.
"What are you grinning about?" Ravi asked as he tried the shrimp. His manner of eating was really too proper, with his back straight and shoulders stretched. He picked his shrimp and chewed slowly, all indifferently and calmly. It was like watching Ancient Avalon drama characters co to life.
In one of his missions, Ravi had been born as a prince before being poisoned by the brother he helped to ascend the throne. It had been years and yet Ravi still maintained the table manners from that mission. Arlen wondered how many behaviors from various missions had seeped into Ravi.
"I am on a date with the most beautiful man on Earth, what would I not grin about?"
Ravi blushed. That faint touch on his cheeks, like the crimson clouds on the horizon. What a sight.
It made Arlen thirsty and hungry for sothing that was not the plate of shrimp in front of him.
They finished the appetizers soon with a comfortable silence that neither had the urge to break.
"Arlen." Ravi suddenly said and Arlen looked at him.
Ravi was silent and Arlen knew what he wanted to talk about.
"The offer to return back to the Capital. It is a good opportunity for you. Any position that you need to get in the Police Force, you can get it easily from the Capital."
Arlen did not speak, just waiting, Waiting for Ravi to ask him, to be the one to ask him.
Everyone always said he was kind and accommodating but Arlen did not think this was true. He was born the last child of a wealthy family; he had always been a bit more spoiled, a lot more selfish,
There were tumultuous currents in his heart and ever since Ravi had told him everything, Arlen had been feeling a little insecure. It was unreasonable yet uncontrollable.
He wanted Ravi to show him the sa possessive desires that ran through his veins; he wanted Ravi to want to keep him by his side also.
His heart pounded in his chest as he looked into those hazel eyes. Please ask . Please ask . Ask to stay here in Davenport with you.
