It turned out she had completely misunderstood the aning behind the clothes.

They weren’t so defensive treasure at all—just ordinary garnts…

Watching Yi Feng haggle with the seamstress, Feng Qianyue was utterly speechless.

In seven days, he would undergo the Death Inheritance. To improve his chances of success, thorough preparation was essential—the more prepared he was, the higher the likelihood of survival.

Yet, with the countdown ticking away, instead of focusing on what truly mattered, he was preoccupied with trivialities like clothing and daily necessities. It baffled her.

It wasn’t because of her bet with Bai Ji that she felt this way.

It was just common sense—anyone would prioritize preparation, right?

Finally, after much bargaining, Yi Feng bought two reasonably fitting robes from the seamstress.

But even after that, contrary to Feng Qianyue’s expectations, he didn’t turn his attention to the inheritance. Instead, he continued to fuss over food.

The sky gradually darkened.

The twilight scenery was breathtaking—fiery clouds painted half the sky, casting a golden hue over the world.

The distant sea shimred, perfectly mirroring the blazing sky above.

Two skies, one above, one below…

Such beauty should have lifted anyone’s spirits.

Yet.

Feng Qianyue couldn’t feel an ounce of joy.

From the mont they left the house until now, Yi Feng had wasted an entire day.

She watched helplessly, anxiety gnawing at her.

Every lost day ant less ti to prepare, which could ultimately jeopardize his chances of survival.

At last, after a full day of shopping, Yi Feng stretched contentedly.

"Busy all day, but finally got everything I needed," he said with satisfaction.

His words montarily eased Feng Qianyue’s worries. She breathed a quiet sigh of relief, thinking, Has he finally co to his senses?

"Sir, what should we do next?" she asked cautiously.

"We’ve been running around all day. Nothing left to do—let’s head back." Yi Feng shielded his eyes as he admired the sunset, looking completely at ease.

Feng Qianyue’s lips twitched.

"Go… back?"

She blinked in disbelief. "Sir, aren’t you supposed to be preparing for the inheritance? We’re just leaving?"

"I was preparing," Yi Feng said, spinning his storage ring with a grin. "I already got everything I needed. No reason to stick around, right?"

Feng Qianyue was dumbfounded.

She took a deep breath and asked, slowly, "Are you saying… the beef jerky, pickled duck legs, and sausages you bought today are your preparations for the Death Inheritance?"

"Yeah? Weren’t you watching buy them?" Yi Feng replied.

Hearing his confirmation, Feng Qianyue staggered back, clutching her forehead as if her entire worldview had shattered.

So this was what he ant by "preparations."

Oh heavens…

She was at a complete loss for words.

This was the Death Inheritance we were talking about.

Shouldn’t he be gathering life-saving artifacts and trump cards?

Instead, he was stocking up on beef jerky?

Was this so kind of joke?

"Sir," she pressed, "the Death Inheritance is fraught with danger. Beyond… these preparations, don’t you think you need sothing more?"

"Sothing more…?" Yi Feng scratched his head. "Let think about it."

Watching him actually pause to consider it, Feng Qianyue nearly lost her composure.

Wasn’t it common sense to prepare thoroughly for sothing like this? And yet, he needed her to remind him?

To put it bluntly…

Was there sothing wrong with this man’s thought process?

"Ah! Now that you ntion it, I did forget sothing important!" Yi Feng suddenly slapped his thigh in realization.

Feng Qianyue exhaled in relief.

Finally, he was getting back on track.

But his next sentence plunged her straight into despair.

"I got all the at and preserves, but I forgot staple food! Can’t just eat side dishes without rice, right? I’ll need so dry rations—maybe compress them myself. Wait here, I’ll grab so from that shop across the street."

With that, he marched off to resu haggling with the shopkeeper.

Feng Qianyue wanted to cry. Or maybe just die.

She was beginning to regret her decision at the Moonlit Tower.

Sure, Yi Feng had managed to catch the Dragon Fish.

But the more she got to know him, the more unreliable he seed.

Even after buying the dry rations, Yi Feng showed no intention of making any other preparations. Instead, he basked in the satisfaction of his successful bargaining.

Feng Qianyue fell silent.

She gave up.

No more struggling. If doom awaited, so be it.
