Guihai Yidong rattled off a string of complaints, leaving Wen Yan quite shocked.
"You really self-taught yourself all those majors? Damn, if I had your skills, I would've changed departnts ages ago."
"Honestly, a lot of the courses different majors study overlap anyway, so it's not really that much." Guihai Yidong looked a bit embarrassed and quickly tried to change the topic.
"Brother Wen, are you planning to make another entrance here? Just one entrance isn't that safe—it's best to have another one on the opposite side.
If that's the case, when I go down to start working, I can just start from the other end, and when I'm done, I'll make another exit from below into your basent."
"You're the expert. Do it however you think's best."
"Will do."
Guihai Yidong made his way to the northernmost edge of the villa complex, and just as he was about to climb over the wall, Wen Yan pulled out the Little Magic Wand and opened a passage through the wall.
Guihai Yidong's eyes lit up as he stared at the Magic Wand.
Wen Yan thought, If this guy likes it, I might as well just give it to him. The Magic Wand was just a freebie from Old ng, and its road-opening feature is really limited anyway.
But unexpectedly, Guihai Yidong said,
"Brother Wen, since you have this thing, I think there's no need to put a door on this exit. Having a door's actually less safe. When we make an exit without a door, just use this Magic Wand as a key and it'll work perfectly.
Later, if you have anything in mind for the area behind the exit, just tell in advance, and I'll leave you spots for traps.
If anyone tries to force their way in from the outside, I guarantee they'll have a hell of a ti getting through."
"You do what you think's best..." Wen Yan had nothing more to say. This guy is definitely in the wrong version. If this were the apocalypse, Guihai Yidong would totally be the chosen one of the update.
Leaving the neighborhood, Guihai Yidong took out a tablet, carefully calculated the location, tapped away, and zeroed in on a spot.
Then, looking embarrassed, he took off one shoe, put his right foot on the ground, and his toes curled up tight.
Wen Yan just looked at him in shock, making Guihai Yidong even more embarrassed. Finally, gritting his teeth, he shouted a number and dug his right foot into the ground.
His right foot left behind a blur, almost like reality glitched, and within a second or two, a one-ter-square pit had appeared in the ground.
Wen Yan's eyes went wide. Honestly, he'd seen a lot, but this was a first for him—he hadn't expected anything like it.
Guihai Yidong's figure quickly vanished into the pit. Wen Yan walked over, craned his neck to look down, and saw that below the pit, a sloping staircase leading underground had already appeared. Guihai Yidong's figure had completely disappeared.
"Damn, that's impressive," Wen Yan couldn't help but sigh. It's really better than a digger.
Now he believed it—Guihai Yidong alone was a full-blown construction crew.
He looked down, and saw that inside the newly dug tunnel, the earth was as smooth and solid as if it'd been steamrolled. On top of that, each side of the tunnel had at least ten centiters of protective panels added.
He followed the steps down and saw Guihai Yidong ahead, one foot scraping continuously in front while both hands pulled protective panels out of thin air and kept digging down.
Wen Yan didn't bother him and headed out of the passage, not worrying about it anymore.
When night fell, he checked, and Guihai Yidong still hadn't co out. Wen Yan called down at the entrance, but Guihai Yidong refused to leave, saying he'd eat and sleep inside, no need to worry.
Wen Yan scratched his head, thinking to himself, Maybe this is Guihai Yidong's path to advancent.
From what he'd heard, Guihai Yidong used to do everything himself, and judging by what he said, the materials were probably never properly sourced either.
Now soone's giving him funds and materials, and he's probably going to take this chance—on Scorching Sun Departnt's di—to pave his way to the next level.
Since that's the case, Wen Yan really had nothing to worry about.
He went ho to practice boxing and get so sleep.
Three days later, a filthy and disheveled Guihai Yidong finally erged from underground.
"Brother Wen, I've just got to break through the entrance to your basent, and the back side of that building's underground section. I need you to confirm where you want the entrance, Brother Wen."
Wen Yan took Guihai Yidong to the basent, pointed to one of the walls, and confird the position for the entrance.
Guihai Yidong imdiately started digging a sloping passage downward.
After about 30 or 40 ters, a massive underground space opened up in front of them.
It looked like an underground parking garage, though the columns were nowhere near as dense, and the ceiling seed to be over seven ters high. The whole space felt extrely open.
This one floor alone was about the size of a soccer field—pushed right to the limit.
Moving forward, Wen Yan saw there were elevator shafts reserved, and stairs on all four sides.
There were two more levels below, but for now, those weren't finished yet.
"I'm out of materials. I need to go get more. Brother Wen, have a look—this is pretty much the main structure."
Wen Yan looked at the columns, at least a ter thick, their surfaces so smooth it was as if an old master bricklayer had carefully troweled them—absolutely pristine.
"Three floors in total, the top one a bit bigger and the two below a bit smaller. This is the maximum strength my current abilities can handle.
It's not that I couldn't use better materials, but if I do, I can't control the process as well and sothing could go wrong, end up with flaws or inaccuracies.
If there's a defect, it might actually be worse than just leaving it like this.
This is the most reliable way."
Wen Yan looked at the space in front of him—what more could he ask for?
Apart from the air being a bit stuffy, there were no other issues.
Following Guihai Yidong, they ca to a certain spot, and Guihai Yidong pointed upward.
"According to the plan, just over ten ters up is the building behind your house. I haven't dared dig through this section yet."
