There wasn't really a problem with not having streetlights; hanging them was just soone's hobby.
If anyone really thought that Pei Tugou needed streetlights to hang people, they were sure to die a terrible death.
Last ti Pei Tugou didn't manage to hang anyone, probably because his spirits weren't high. This was a good opportunity to find him so work.
But now that I was here, going back to call for others would be a waste of ti and might lead to unexpected complications.
He glanced at Feng Wei and first took him into the Jade Pendant to prevent him from getting caught in the upcoming fight.
"Did you notice anything else? Can I handle it?" Wen Yan asked Tong Si.
Tong Si recalled Wen Yan standing on the Rain Sacrifice Platform, slaying the Great Demon. He then looked into the distance and imdiately shook his head.
"The people coming likely have decent strength. However, for you, they should be fairly average; none of them possess a particularly powerful aura. But if they have special abilities and don't use them, I can't necessarily tell from this distance."
"Then let's go over."
As Wen Yan moved towards the battlefield, nearing the temporary camp, a person perched on a tree on the mountainside several miles away put down their binoculars, took out their phone, and made a call.
"He's here; he actually ca.
"He's still with that Ghost with the slightly special eyes.
"Also, we just got confirmation: that guy nad Gauss was taken for karaoke and hasn't returned yet.
"And the other one, suspected to be the Great Killer Star, is still on a business trip.
"This is the best opportunity; once they're alerted, we'll never get another chance.
"This is also our last chance. We must not ss this up."
After hanging up, at that very mont, a car was rapidly approaching on a road north of Virtue City.
The vehicle didn't co from the city but arrived directly from outside at the suburban villa area north of Virtue City.
The faces of the two people in the car slowly changed; one transford into the likeness of Granny Fox, and the other into Feng Yao.
Even their auras beca indistinguishable from those of the real Granny Fox and Feng Yao under normal circumstances.
As they drew closer to their target, they saw various ornants hanging from the streetlights. The lingering aura made them shudder, their bodies instinctively urging them to leave.
They tried not to look at the ornants on the streetlights, their eyes filled with a determination as if heading to their deaths.
Then, their expressions and deanors kept shifting until they finally found the most suitable ones.
Now, their gaze, appearance, and aura were indistinguishable from the real Granny Fox and Feng Yao.
They drove up to the entrance, where the security guard imdiately recognized Feng Yao, a frequent visitor.
After the barrier lifted, their car slowly drove down the lane.
At the sa ti, thanks to Gauss, the surveillance system in this area had just been upgraded. Now connected to the internet with high-definition caras, it clearly captured the individuals.
With only a second's delay, Wen Yan, far away in the Qinling Mountains, received a ssage on his phone from the Black Box.
Wen Yan looked at it. The photo showed Granny Fox and Feng Yao driving into the villa area's range, with the ti marked below.
There were also two other photos with locations and tistamps.
One was a photo of Granny Fox entering a detention center, and the other was a photo of Feng Yao.
The Black Box hadn't been reclaid, and he was still allowed to use it. However, Wen Yan knew the rules and didn't misuse it to search for things randomly.
He still operated according to the original purpose for which the Black Box was set up: he only asked questions and let the Black Box do the search. Receiving just the results was enough for him.
Eventually, when he had no other use for it, he set it up with a protective alert feature and nothing more.
He hadn't expected the Black Box to be so useful now.
He looked carefully. It was quite clear that, according to the tistamps, Granny Fox and Feng Yao had appeared in two different places almost simultaneously.
The ti window was so short that Wen Yan couldn't have made it even if he'd dashed madly through the Nether Path.
He made a phone call to Sparrow Cat. As the phone rang, Sparrow Cat, who had fallen asleep watching TV on the couch, showed no reaction, but everyone else in the house woke up. Shishi saw the incoming call displaying Wen Yan's na and answered it.
"Hello, it's , Shishi."
"Where's Sparrow Cat?" Wen Yan asked.
"He was watching TV and fell asleep," Shishi replied. "He hasn't woken up yet."
"Tell everyone at ho that people impersonating Granny Fox and Feng Yao have arrived," Wen Yan instructed.
"Especially tell Little Fox not to forget the rules I set for him.
"Also, tell Gray Cloth that if anyone at ho loses even a single hair, I'll send it back to Dragon Tiger Mountain."
After Wen Yan finished giving instructions, he hung up. Beside the phone, Little Zombie had appeared at so point, ears perked, listening. Then, from a gap in the sofa, Gray Cloth quietly erged, its form shifting to create an ear, indicating it was also listening.
Upon hearing the threat of being sent back to Dragon Tiger Mountain, Gray Cloth trembled violently. It then grabbed Sparrow Cat's leg, lifting and shaking Sparrow Cat awake.
"What's up... What ti is it? Why aren't we sleeping?" Sparrow Cat murmured drowsily.
"An enemy disguised as an acquaintance has co, most likely to capture Little Fox," was the urgent reply.
Hearing this, Sparrow Cat's pupils shrank instantly, and the cat was fully alert. "What do you an?"
Flapping its wings, Sparrow Cat quickly flew a circuit around the house. After confirming everything was fine, it flew outside. Gazing into the distance, it saw a car slowly approaching them.
When it saw that the driver indeed looked like Feng Yao, it bristled.
I just spent over a hundred bucks today on dog food for Little Fox, and now soone wants to trick him away? Who's going to eat that dog food then? Do they think my money grows on trees?!
Little Zombie bared its small fangs. Mo Shishi's complexion even began to turn a little grayish. By the ti a clueless Little Fox arrived in the living room, he saw Sparrow Cat perched atop a table, issuing commands.
Just then, the sound of a car stopping ca from outside, followed by Granny Fox's voice. Little Fox's ears twitched, and he started to rush towards the door with a hint of excitent.
Sparrow Cat's face fell as it watched. Just as Little Fox was about to dash out, Gray Cloth silently appeared, binding Little Fox's legs and suspending him from the ceiling.
"You forgot the rule Wen Yan set for you," Gray Cloth said tonelessly.
"My granny is here!" Little Fox cried, dangling.
Such a naive and gullible fool, Sparrow Cat thought, its expression unchanging. No wonder your granny wanted to break your legs to teach you a lesson. It's a miracle you've survived this long.
