Holding that check in her hands, Vera Wave found herself lost in thought.
A hundred-million-dollar check to buy a woman, has this man gone crazy?!
Staring at the check in her hand, she mused for a long ti before finally placing it back on the table.
"Kris Cooper, consider this money as sothing I’m borrowing from you. As long as I, Vera Wave, am alive, I’ll strive to repay you! From now on, if you ask for it, you can even have my life!"
Muttering as if swearing an oath, Vera Wave stretched her foot towards the floor. The mont her foot touched down, she gasped.
Bastard!
Didn’t he say he wouldn’t hurt her?
While sitting on the bed just now, she hadn’t felt it, but when she stretched her leg, she realized it still hurt a little.
Now that she had truly experienced it, she finally knew what *that kind of thing* felt like. She could also now be certain that he hadn’t touched her that night she got drunk.
Thinking of this, sothing suddenly occurred to her, and she hurriedly pulled back the covers.
There was no blood on the white sheets.
How could this be?
She carefully recalled last night. There had been a slight pain at the beginning, but because he was especially careful, she hadn’t felt too uncomfortable.
Could the legend that you always bleed the first ti be false, or had she perhaps accidentally torn her hyn while exercising before?
Vera Wave thought about it but couldn’t find an answer. She pulled the bathrobe from beside the pillow, draped it over herself, and carefully stood up.
I wonder if that guy noticed... He wouldn’t mind that she wasn’t a virgin, would he?
GURGLE!
Her stomach growled in protest. Vera Wave went to the window to look at the sky outside. The mont she pulled the curtain aside, her eyes stung from the brilliant light.
Outside, it was already afternoon, the sunlight dazzling and sharp.
She pulled back her hand and, shuffling in his oversized slippers, walked out of the bedroom.
Opening the door, she was surprised again.
The scattered debris in the living room had been cleaned up spotless. If not for the general emptiness, it would be truly hard to imagine the utter ss from last night.
She walked through the living room into the small kitchen and imdiately saw the sticky note on the microwave’s front panel.
"Heat directly. Ti and temperature are already set."
The familiar handwriting—she knew without thinking that it was Kris Cooper’s.
This guy... he’s actually quite considerate, isn’t he?
The corners of her lips lifted slightly as she reached out and pressed the heat button.
As the microwave started running automatically, she turned and walked to the bathroom.
On the bathroom sink, a toothbrush lay across a new water cup, a centiter-long line of toothpaste already squeezed onto its bristles.
She reached out, grasped the toothbrush handle, and stared at the toothpaste on it, once again lost in thought.
DING!
In the kitchen, the sound of the microwave tir going off snapped Vera Wave back to her senses. She popped the toothbrush into her mouth.
Brushing her teeth, washing her face, taking a shower... She quickly tidied herself up and returned to the kitchen to take out the heated food.
Three dishes—one at and two vegetable—a container of rice, and a small bowl of soup. They were all her favorite kinds of food.
She had to admit, this man really had a knack for knowing how to please won. She had no idea how he’d figured out her tastes.
Sitting at the table, she unceremoniously filled her empty stomach. Afterwards, she ticulously cleaned the kitchen, put the leftovers in the refrigerator, changed her clothes, and returned to her own room across the hall.
She carefully placed the check inside a book and slipped the book into her school bag.
Grabbing her cell phone, she walked out of her apartnt. She pulled up Kris Cooper’s phone number on her phone, her finger hovering over the call button for a long mont, but in the end, she moved it away, lacking the courage to press it.
Transitioning from subordinate to bedmate... she truly had no idea how to even begin the conversation, or what she should say to him.
