The man stopped in his tracks, and heard the girl speak up behind him in the dark.
"I’ll rember your kindness for a lifeti!"
With his back to her, the man lifted the corner of his lips.
"No need, just sleep! Tomorrow, I’m going to a eting at Ashton, you co along with ."
He turned off the light for her, pulled open the door, and left.
In bed, Vera watched the tiny green light on the humidifier, images of the man’s indulgent gaze flashed before her eyes, causing her heart to flutter.
Suddenly, she recalled Andre Colin’s voice in her heart.

Could it be that she really likes this guy?
It wasn’t until the latter half of the night, after tossing and turning countless tis, that Vera finally fell into a deep sleep from exhaustion.
She woke up the next morning to the alarm clock, rembering she had to report to Ashton, and hurriedly got out of bed and dressed, quickly tidied herself up, dashed out of the room, and arrived at Kris Cooper’s door.
"No need to knock, I’m here!"
In the hallway, Kris Cooper’s voice rang out.
Vera turned her face, and upon a glance, her eyes widened instantly.
Kris Cooper was walking up the stairs, wearing a cream-colored long trench coat, with a light blue shirt underneath, without a tie, the top two buttons undone, and a pair of brown sunglasses perched on his tall nose.
Carrying two large bags of items, he walked up the dim and narrow stairs, as if strutting down a runway, exuding a blend of refinent and idleness, striking and dazzling.
As he walked closer, Vera subconsciously swallowed hard.
So handso!
Through the lenses, Kris caught her expression, slightly bending down.
"What’s up, you drooling just by looking at ?!"
Vera realized her loss of composure, quickly regaining her senses, naturally unwilling to admit that she was being a fangirl.
"I was just thinking, should I get you a guide dog! Wearing sunglasses in such darkness, aren’t you afraid of tripping?"
Damn girl!
If his hands weren’t full, he would pin her against the wall and give her a good tease.
"Open the door!"
Noticing the man’s expression change from clear to cloudy, Vera hurriedly opened her room door, and Kris Cooper followed her inside, stuffing the food and drinks he had bought into her fridge.
He picked up the breakfast on the table, handed it to her, and Kris Cooper checked his watch.
"No ti left, eat in the car!"
He turned and headed towards the door, took two steps, and turned to look at her.
"Did you bring sanitary pads?"
"Oh... I forgot!"
Vera spun around, running to the bedroom, grabbed a pack from the restroom, stuffed it into her backpack, and followed him out.
She really wondered how she managed to survive alone during the Wave Clan’s tough tis!
Watching her hurriedly head downstairs and get into the passenger seat, Kris Cooper felt both heartache and a bit of helplessness.
Starting the car, he drove towards Ashton Company, then spoke again.
"I’ve asked Tommy Taylor to help arrange things on the HR side for you, it’s through the usual hiring process, no special treatnt, the salary is the sa as others, similar to Glimr’s!"
After briefly explaining the situation in the Advertising Departnt, Kris Cooper parked the car near Ashton Building.
"You can get off here, they all recognize my car." Unlocking the door for her, Kris Cooper gave her a side smile, "Good luck!"
eting his encouraging gaze, Vera’s heart skipped a beat. She quickly reined in her gaze, pushed open the door, and got out.
"Vera!"
Noticing the oil stain on her face, Kris Cooper called her back, raised his hand, and pointed to his own face to remind her.
She knew there was no such thing as a free ride in his car!
Vera pouted, opened the almost closed car door again, got back in, puckered her lips, and gave him a peck on the cheek before jumping out and running off.
