The director’s intentions had been clear, and Maggie Clarke was well aware of her own status. Such a renowned director could not be offended. This was her last opportunity, and she was determined to give Vera Wave a sound thrashing.
Vera Wave felt Maggie’s icy gaze and turned her face to avoid Maggie’s hand. Does she really think I’m a pushover? She could tolerate it once, perhaps twice, but there would be no third or fourth ti.
Damn it, she even dares to resist?
Maggie Clarke missed her grip, and a surge of anger instantly flared within her.
Of course, despite her anger, she knew when to pull back. They could not afford another NG on this scene. So, she stood up and turned towards the window.
Vera Wave quickly lunged, following the script, and grabbed her foot.
"Mr. Wu, run!"
Maggie Clarke turned around and pulled a dagger from her clothes.
Seeing the dagger in her hand, Vera Wave instantly showed fear, stepping back.
Of course, this was what the script required. Next, Maggie Clarke was supposed to stab her in the left chest, and then the special effects crew would detonate the blood pack on her body to simulate a stab wound.
Turning her face to look at the visibly frightened Vera Wave, Maggie Clarke rembered the events of that day, and suddenly, a malicious impulse seized her.
With a swift movent, she swiped the dagger at Vera Wave’s face.
Of course, the prop knife was a dummy. However, for realism, it was a specially customized prop, made to look very real. Although not as sharp as a real knife, if this swipe truly hit Vera Wave’s face, it would certainly draw blood.
Vera Wave sensed the anger radiating from her and recoiled.
The knife grazed her face, severing a couple of strands of her hair as they flew up.
Feeling the cold rush of air skim her face, Vera Wave’s eyes widened in shock.
This bitch... is she actually trying to harm ?!
At that mont, Maggie Clarke’s second slash was already on its way, again aid at her face.
Sensing the danger, Vera Wave quickly raised her arm, catching Maggie Clarke’s knife-wielding hand.
Maggie Clarke stubbornly held on, putting her weight into the knife.
"You little slut, I won’t rest until I kill you today!"
This line was from the script, yet it also perfectly voiced the sinister thoughts brewing within her.
Looking into Maggie’s eyes, Vera Wave saw pure malice.
There was nothing like this in the script. This woman wasn’t acting; she was clearly taking the play for real, trying to injure her.
Realizing this, Vera Wave wasn’t about to care about the script anymore. She lifted her right foot and kicked Maggie Clarke hard on the shin.
Wincing in pain, Maggie instinctively loosened her grip on the knife. Seizing the opportunity, Vera Wave pushed Maggie’s knife-wielding hand aside, turned her head, and bit hard into Maggie’s arm.
She didn’t hold back one bit.
"Ahh!"
Maggie Clarke scread at the top of her lungs and tried to pull her hand back. Vera Wave ignored her, held on tightly, and bit down with all her might.
Soon, she tasted blood.
Maggie Clarke couldn’t bear it and scread piercingly.
"Soone! Help... She’s biting ..."
Knowing when to stop, Vera quickly released her bite and retreated a few steps. As the crew rushed over to support Maggie Clarke, Vera swiftly backed out of the room and cast an innocent look towards the director.
"I’m sorry, Director. It looks like I might have over-dramatized my part too!"
Acting, eh? Who can’t do that!
Maggie Clarke could fumble her lines. Why couldn’t she overact? The worst-case scenario was a reprimand from the director. It wasn’t like she’d lose a chunk of flesh.
CLAP, CLAP, CLAP!
Before the director could speak, the sound of clapping ca from the back of the crowd.
