This ti, it wasn’t about exploiting Kris Cooper or intentionally trying to please him; it was a sincere acceptance from the depths of her heart. For so long, he had been the first man to cherish her, treating her with the tenderness of a father. She should respond to this feeling with equal sincerity.
Kris Cooper scowled. "Let go, quickly!"
"What’s the matter?" She released him, puzzled. "Can’t I hug you too?"
The man chuckled. "I’m cold. Wait until I’m warm before you hug ."
He had been strolling outdoors for quite a while, so his skin had lost much of its warmth. Although he wasn’t bothered by the cold himself, he worried she might get chilled.
Vera swiveled and imdiately moved closer, wrapping her arms around him once again.
"No! I want to hug you now!" His skin felt a bit cold, giving her goosebumps, yet she held him tightly. Unafraid of the cold, she pressed her warm body against his. "I’ll warm you up."
If he could warm her hands and feet, she could do the sa for him.
However, her attempt to warm him up was more like tossing fuel onto a fire. With a slight shift of his body, he had her pinned beneath him.
The fire was hers to bear responsibility for, since she had ignited it!

When she woke up the next morning, Vera regretted her decision.
Tonight, I’m definitely not letting Kris Cooper into my bed, she silently resolved while brushing her teeth with weary arms.
But then, as she walked out and saw him picking out clothes for her, she changed her mind. He can join in bed, but absolutely no sex, she decided.
Over breakfast, watching him cool her porridge, she changed her mind again. If he insists... I guess I can agree. Just once. Maximum once. Absolutely no more changes after this! she thought.
It’s so strange, she mused. Why is it that after we do the sa thing, he appears radiant and energetic, as if he’d been injected with chicken blood, while I feel completely drained and lethargic, not wanting to move at all?
While in his car, Vera finally brought up her doubts.
"Honey... don’t you... don’t you get tired?"
Kris Cooper reached over to adjust her seatbelt.

Kris Cooper’s lips curved slightly.
"As long as it makes you happy, I’m willing to be a little tired."

He turned his head to look at her, his gaze deep.

At this comnt, Vera blushed so fiercely she wished she could crawl under the car seat. Sha turned to anger, and she hissed, "You’re driving and talking! Keep your eyes on the road!"
Like each ti before, he drove her to the back entrance of their office. Before he could speak, Vera jumped out of the car and scurried away.
The re thought of last night’s events made her feel uneasy whenever he was near.
Vera entered the office building and took the elevator to the Advertising Departnt. As she walked through the entrance of the Planning Departnt, rlin Bradley looked up from her Partition Room.
"Vera, you seem to be glowing!"
Did she see sothing? Vera thought, quickly pulling her high-collared shirt higher. "What do you an?"
rlin Bradley gestured toward Vera’s office. "Go in and see for yourself."
