The Advertising Departnt didn’t require strict office hours, so theoretically, her schedule shouldn’t be an issue.
After a thorough review, Vera Wave dialed Rowan Nichols’ number.
"Could you make arrangents for the next two days? Miss Irene is also here, so let’s seize the ti and shoot your scenes together first."
Vera was taken aback. Irene Spencer? Is she the leading lady?
"You didn’t know?"
"Oh... I... I wasn’t really following this drama."
She was too busy earning money every day; she hardly had ti to keep track of entertainnt rumors.
"So, your schedule is fine then?"
"No problem."
Then, Rowan Nichols and Vera confird the schedule, and they hung up.
Vera got out of the car, returned to the old mansion, and without delay, printed out the script to review it again.
The script had been revised; her intimate scenes were removed, and two scenes were added for the second female lead, making that character more well-rounded. The overall plot remained largely unchanged.
After the revision, the second female lead’s role beca clearer: she wasn’t a villain, but a character straddling the line between good and evil.
After reading through the script, Vera quickly ate the dinner prepared by Miss Feng. She then imdiately shut herself in her bedroom to select scenes with the leading lady, ticulously pondering each line and scrutinizing each action.
Firstly, she always took her work seriously. Secondly, she harbored a slight urge to compete with Irene Spencer.
After all, that woman was her boyfriend’s rumored paramour. Naturally, Vera didn’t want to be overshadowed by her.
When Kris Cooper called, Vera was practicing her lines in front of the mirror. Hearing the phone ring, she hurried to answer it.
"My lord, did you miss your humble servant?"
"Very much!" On the other end of the phone, Kris Cooper’s voice was filled with laughter. "My flight is tomorrow afternoon. Co pick up."
"That... your humble servant cannot do!"
"Speak normally!"
Vera gave an obsequious laugh. "I have to film tomorrow; Director Rowan and I already made arrangents. They’re sending a car to pick up tomorrow morning, and... I guess I won’t be back until Monday morning. Darling, please don’t be angry. Even though I can’t pick you up at the airport, my heart will definitely be there."
"Where are you filming?"
"Suburbs Film City."
"Alright, I understand."
"Darling, don’t worry. I’ll definitely perform well; I won’t embarrass you... Oh, Darling, have you eaten? Um... rember to drink hot water, okay? Take good care of yourself. If you get sick, I’ll be really upset... I’ve been missing you so much these days! I can’t eat (actually, I’m eating more than usual) and I can’t sleep (I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow)..."
"You’re overacting," the man on the other end teased, his voice laced with amusent. Clearly, he wasn’t angry.
She giggled. "Darling, you have such a discerning eye; you saw right through that!"
On the other end of the phone, Tommy Taylor erged from the negotiation room.
"Mr. President, the other party has agreed to our terms: a 3% increase on the original price. You can go and sign now."
"Okay." Kris Cooper nodded. "I have sothing else to attend to, so I have to hang up."
After ending the call, he returned to the negotiation room.
The person in charge from the other side imdiately approached to shake his hand. Then, both parties sat down to sign and exchange the docunts.
Once the docunts were signed, an assistant poured champagne, and the negotiators from both sides toasted to celebrate.
Kris Cooper’s phone vibrated slightly.
