「The next morning.」
The alarm clock went off. It was just a little past four o’clock. Kris Cooper stretched out his hand, wanting to turn off his phone, but Vera Wave, who was in his arms, sat straight up as if she’d been electrocuted, her eyes still closed.
"I barely slept, and now it’s light?"
Muttering in dissatisfaction, she rubbed her eyes, pushed the quilt aside, and was about to get out of bed.
"Vera!" Kris Cooper grabbed her wrist. "What are you doing?"
"Getting up! I have to shoot an early scene... The director said to et downstairs at five!"
She mumbled and stretched her legs out from under the quilt, but a second later, she drew them back in panic, pulling the quilt up to cover her chest.
"Where are my clothes?!"
Kris Cooper threw off the covers and got up, casually grabbing a bath towel and wrapping it around himself. He picked up her bra from the foot of the bed and held it out to her.
She glanced at the bra in his hand, then at the quilt covering herself.
She realized that she didn’t have a single stitch of clothing on under the quilt. And... she could clearly feel sothing was different about her body.
Snatching the bra from his hand, her small face flushed red from a mixture of sha and anger. She lashed out furiously, "Kris Cooper, haven’t you gone too far?"
That guy! He actually... did that to her while she was asleep! No wonder she still felt so exhausted even after a full night’s sleep; it was all because he’d worn her out.
Handing her clothes to her, Kris Cooper raised an eyebrow.
"You asked for it; I just complied."
She... initiated?!
"You’re lying!"
He regarded her calmly and asked in return, "You really don’t rember?"
Vera Wave took her clothes, quickly slipping them on. Her mind raced as she attempted to recall what happened last night, piecing together fragnts of mories. She faintly rembered having a dream, a dream about him... It seed she had been clinging to him, unwilling to let him go.
As she recalled these details, her face turned so red it looked as if blood might drip from it.
"Do you rember now?" Kris Cooper deliberately asked.
"I was too drunk... I don’t rember..."
There was no way she was going to admit she initiated it. Pretending to have amnesia was the best strategy.
Quickly putting on her clothes, she rushed into the bathroom as if escaping to wash her face. Kris Cooper ca in, found a new toothbrush for her and set it out, and then stood under the shower.
Hearing the sound of water next to her, Vera Wave turned her head in confusion. The man had already tossed off his towel and was showering.
Seeing him, her mouth fell open, and the toothbrush nearly slipped from her hand. She hastily turned her face away, toothbrush in hand, practically ready to bolt.
"Can you hand the towel?"
No sooner had she turned than Kris Cooper’s voice rang out.
"Can’t you get it yourself?" she muttered defiantly.
"Hurry, I’ve got sothing in my eye."
Toothbrush still in hand, she took a towel from the rack and handed it to him with her back turned.
"Here."
"I can’t see."
Resigned, she had no choice but to turn back around. Forcing herself to look upwards to avoid seeing his body, she handed him the towel. The mont Kris Cooper took it, she grabbed her toothbrush and rushed out of the bathroom as if fleeing for her life.
Hearing the THUMP-THUMP-THUMP of her feet as she hurried downstairs, Kris Cooper felt both exasperated and amused.
They’d slept together countless tis, yet she still didn’t dare to look at him?
After running to the downstairs bathroom to finish brushing her teeth, Vera Wave was still complaining as she washed her face.
"Exhibitionist, hooligan, shaless..."
As she muttered curses, images of him standing under the shower flashed uncontrollably through her mind, and she couldn’t help but sigh aloud in admiration.
"But... he does have a great body..."
