"Yes, yes, and that water bottle over there, and those two backpacks—take them all."
Anabel Wilton hadn’t even given the two won a proper look. Seeing rlin Bradley, who was plainly dressed, she imdiately dismissed them as ordinary Ashton employees. Her tone was naturally authoritarian, and she didn’t utter a single word of thanks.
Vera Wave caught rlin Bradley’s eye. rlin Bradley then led the way, with Anabel Wilton following behind, clasping a thick stack of notebooks.
Vera Wave wore one of the backpacks, had the water bottle tucked under her arm, and carried Anabel Wilton’s other bag—which was also a backpack—in her hand. She slyly reached into the bag she was carrying and pulled out Anabel’s phone.
The screen lit up, revealing a password prompt.
"Damn!"
Muttering under her breath, Vera hastily put the phone back. By this ti, they had entered the elevator. Vera purposefully hid behind rlin Bradley, pulled out her own phone, and sent Anabel Wilton a Whatsapp ssage.
After sending the ssage, Vera handed Anabel’s bag back to her.
"Miss, it seems like your phone is ringing."
Anabel Wilton, her hands full with notebooks, frowned. "How am I supposed to get it like this? Get it out for !"
"Sorry about that!"
Vera Wave promptly took the phone from Anabel’s bag and handed it to her. This phone was the one Anabel used to help Irene Spencer find work, so Anabel naturally didn’t dare to ignore it. Since her hands were full of notebooks, she simply blurted out her password.
"5188, unlock it for ."
Vera imdiately unlocked it for her and opened Whatsapp. Anabel Wilton peered over.
The screen showed a ssage from Vera.
"Lucy Clark, how is Sister Irene’s injury healing?"
Glancing at the ssage from Vera, Anabel sneered contemptuously.
"What an idiot! ...Okay, put it back!"
An idiot?
As Vera put Anabel’s phone away, she curled her lips into a cold smile behind her mask.
It remains to be seen who the real idiot is!
By this ti, the elevator had arrived at the floor where the Production Departnt was located. The elevator doors parted, and Anabel Wilton strode out. Vera purposely tugged on rlin Bradley’s arm, causing the notebooks rlin was holding to fall to the ground with a SWISH.
"Fool!" Anabel Wilton imdiately snapped angrily. "That people like you could work at Ashton is beyond belief."
rlin Bradley was about to retort, but Vera held her back and quickly apologized.
"I’m sorry, please go ahead. We’ll pick everything up and catch up right away."
"Hurry up then!"
Anabel Wilton scoffed and walked off ahead of them.
Vera then quickly unlocked Anabel’s phone and opened the photo album.
After flipping through a few photos, she found the secretly taken snapshot. It wasn’t just one; several similar photos had been taken.
The photo that made the news was the one with the best candid quality.
rlin Bradley gathered the notebooks from the floor. When she looked up, she saw Vera’s grim expression. Then, looking at the phone in Vera’s hand, rlin’s own face fell.
"Isn’t this the photo from the news?"
"Hmph!" Vera gripped the phone. "Just as I suspected..."
The evidence was irrefutable. Without a doubt, Anabel Wilton had leaked the photo featured in the news.
rlin Bradley sighed beside her. "I knew from looking at her that she’s not a good egg. It’s really strange how Irene would find soone like her."
Using her own phone, Vera took several pictures of Anabel’s photo album as evidence. She swiftly put Anabel’s phone back in the bag, helped rlin Bradley pick up the last few notebooks, and said, "Let’s go. We’ll deliver these things first, then talk."
