The security manager, dressed in uniform, fixed his angry gaze on Kris Cooper’s retreating figure. What kind of place is this? How dare he so blatantly break the door barrier? This guy is way too arrogant!
"He’s utterly lawless! Grab him, and we’ll hand him over to the police later."
Several junior security guards imdiately rushed in, extending their arms to seize Kris Cooper, who was holding Vera Wave, and pried his arms apart.
"What are you doing... Let go of him..."
Vera Wave saw Kris Cooper being grabbed and, heart pounding with anxiety, rushed over to try and push the security guards away. One of the guards flung out an arm, sending her stumbling backward and falling to the ground.
"Vera!" Nathan Leafcastle rushed over and steadied her, his handso face filled with anger as he glared at the security guards. "Stop!"
"Vera!"
He hadn’t resisted initially, but seeing Vera shoved away, Kris Cooper’s face instantly darkened. Wrenching his arm free from the guard holding him, Kris Cooper threw a punch. The security guard who had shoved Vera stumbled back, clutching his nose as he fell. Then another, and in short order, Kris Cooper had knocked down all four security guards.
Kris Cooper, free once more, imdiately rushed to Vera’s side. He pushed Nathan Leafcastle aside and gently took her arm, his expression concerned.
"How are you? Are you hurt?"
Vera shook her head. Just then, the security guards Kris Cooper had knocked down were already scrambling to their feet, cursing as they charged at him again.
Seeing this, Vera grew anxious and stepped forward, spreading her arms to shield Kris Cooper.
"Don’t you dare touch him!"
At that mont, the security manager finally got a clear look at Kris Cooper’s face. His own face instantly turned ashen. Seeing his n charging toward Kris Cooper, he scrambled over, shouting at the top of his lungs.
"Stop! Stop now!" The security manager grabbed the guard at the front and shoved another one aside. "All of you, stop!"
The guards, stunned by his shouts, froze in place. The security manager then turned, forced a smile, and approached Kris Cooper.
"M-Mr... Mr. Cooper," he stamred, "I... I didn’t realize it was you. A man of your stature wouldn’t stoop to arguing with common folk, sir. P-please... don’t be upset with them. They... they don’t recognize you. It’s all... all a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding..."
Overco with terror, the security manager was not only pale, but his words also ca out in a stamr, his voice trembling. He had thought the man looked vaguely familiar monts ago, but it was only when he saw his face clearly that the security manager recognized him: this was their ultimate boss.
Just a few days ago, at a eting at Headquarters, the General Manager had shown Kris Cooper’s photo in a PowerPoint presentation. He had stated that the big boss was very concerned about property managent, specifically emphasizing the importance of post-real estate services and that providing custors with the best experience was the core of their entire service. At that ti, the security manager had even gossiped with his colleagues from the eting about this young heir, envying how he was born lucky, straight into a wealthy family.
He’d previously thought the heir and himself were worlds apart, that he’d likely never even have the chance to et him in this lifeti. Who would have thought that only a few years later, his own n would actually assault the guy!
Right then, the security manager’s stomach was churning with fear. Glancing at the junior security guards, who were still standing there in a daze, he yelled hoarsely, "What are you doing?! Get over here and apologize to Mr. Cooper, now! Or do you not want to keep your jobs?!"
