Hearing her relaxed tone, Kris Cooper secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing her so happy, she probably didn’t say anything out of line.
"You go to work, and I’ll have breakfast."
"If it gets cold, rember to heat it up for my husband. Otherwise, if my husband’s stomach feels uncomfortable, I’ll hold you responsible!"
"Alright."
Smiling, he ended the call and rubbed his face.
He really got carried away; he drank way too much last night. Fortunately, he didn’t say anything inappropriate.
He must be careful in the future; otherwise, if he accidentally ntions sothing from six years ago, it’ll be troubleso if she starts asking questions.

In the blink of an eye, three days passed, and it was already Friday afternoon.
Inside the office, Vera Wave was holding her second eting with her team mbers.
"Now that the necessary information has been collated, the most important thing next is the field investigation." Vera folded the materials in her hand. "Over the weekend, everyone can take a break; on Monday, Ruben, rlin, and I will go for an on-site assessnt, and the rest of you should organize all related project data for . Any problems?"
"Nope!"
"All good!"
...
Everyone expressed there were no issues.
"Great!" Vera smiled as she folded the materials in her hand. "Then thank you all for your hard work. If there’s nothing else, you can pack up and head ho."
These past few days, everyone had been working tirelessly to gather information for the new project.
A proper balance between work and rest is necessary; after all, in planning, a good ntal state is the source of inspiration.
As everyone stood up to leave her office, Vera checked the ti on her wristwatch. Seeing it was already past four, she quickly packed her things, took out a bag with a dress, changed out of her clothes, and went to the restroom for a detailed grooming.
Looking at herself in the mirror, Vera took a deep breath, grabbed her purse, and left the office. As she reached the elevator, she bumped into rlin Bradley and others going downstairs. Seeing Vera, soone imdiately helped her press the elevator button.
Once inside, rlin Bradley and Anna Wang imdiately teased her.
"Wow, dressed so ladylike, who are you going to see?!"
"No need to ask, definitely our big boss!"
Vera rolled her eyes at them and then asked, sowhat unsure.
"Do I look okay today?"
"Okay?" rlin rolled her eyes back at her. "If this is just okay, we might as well go jump off a cliff."
"Exactly, being so pretty and fashionable, how can anyone survive? Oh well..." Anna patted her chest, "I guess I’ll go have so at to calm down then."
"Seriously though," Vera tugged rlin Bradley’s arm, "I’m going to et Kris Cooper’s parents. Is this dress okay?"
Upon hearing this, rlin Bradley seriously evaluated her attire. "Yes, very nice, elegant and ladylike."
"Vera, are you going there empty-handed?" Anna Wang ca closer and reminded, "You should bring so gift, right?"
Vera lifted the gift box in her hand; such an important matter she had definitely prepared for.
"Don’t worry too much," Ruben Campbell laughed and joined in, "I’ve t the Chairman and his wife a couple of tis, and they’re both very easygoing people, very approachable."
As they were talking, the elevator reached the lower floor, and Vera bid farewell to the three, hailed a taxi, and headed to the hotel she had reserved.
As she neared the hotel, her phone started ringing.
