This ti, Irene Spencer finally did not miss a line. Naturally, neither did Vera Wave, who had thoroughly morized all scenes in the script involving her character.
In the second half of this scene, Vera played a villainous character. As a rival to Irene’s role, she delivered biting remarks and sarcasms, her emotions perfectly in check.
However, Irene was unable to capture the nonchalant deanor of the lead female character, and her emotion control was off.

Just like that, in their two-person scene, Irene made a slew of mistakes that prevented a smooth shoot, resulting in ten NGs. The more anxious she beca, the harder it was for her to find her footing, trapping her in a vicious cycle of continuous failures.
Initially, Vera patiently continued the scene with Irene. However, Vera’s ti was limited. With the tight schedule, she hoped to finish quickly and return to Nicosa.
After a string of NGs, even the most patient person would lose their composure.
After yet another NG, Vera let out a sigh of exhaustion. "Director, can I take a break and go to the restroom?"
"Go ahead." The director’s tone was gentle with her. However, once Vera moved aside, he slamd the script harshly onto the table. "Zero professionalism! Even an amateur would do better! Such a letdown! Take a 30-minute break!"
He walked away for a couple of steps, then stopped to look at Irene.
"Irene, I’m begging you, show so commitnt!"
Irene, frowning, attempted to defend herself. "Director, I..."
The director raised his hand, cutting her off impatiently.
"Enough, just read the script!"
Having worked with Irene before, the director had always admired her character and acting skills.
However, her actions in the past few days, compounded by today’s continuous NGs, had been deeply disappointing. This tested the patience of even the most tolerant individuals, let alone the already short-tempered director.
As the director stomped off, the staff mbers dispersed, unable to vent their frustration as openly as he did. They could only share mournful sighs and indirect complaints.
"Looks like we’re pulling an all-nighter!"
"Isn’t that the truth? SIGH!"
"Two whole hours for one scene, ridiculous!"
"Exactly!"

Listening to the low murmurs around her, Irene Spencer’s face turned ashen with anger.
Of course, Irene would never consider that she might be the cause of this change. Instead, she blad all her misfortunes on Vera.
Damn it, damn it!
The news of Kris Cooper proposing to Vera was already known to everyone.
Now that Vera was about to beco Mrs. Cooper, even Anabel Wilton treaded carefully around her, for fear of upsetting her.
Watching her own mistress being so tactless, Anabel couldn’t help but feel speechless.
"Irene, have so water!" Anabel handed her a cup of water and attempted to comfort her. "Don’t take it to heart. Just concentrate on finishing these last few scenes. Then we can officially be done with this whole ordeal. After that, all we need to do is keep a respectful distance from Vera."
Irene took the cup and took a few sips of water. As she watched Vera returning from a distance, she couldn’t help but bottle up her resentnts.
"Ugh!" Anabel sighed. "I know you’re not satisfied, but what can you do about it? Kris has proposed to her, so you should just let that idea go!"
Irene said nothing, her fingers tightening around the cup.
All her years of hard work had been eclipsed by Vera. She would not accept this!
