Looking at Vera Wave across the table, Irene Spencer slamd her glass down and stood up straight. "Why? Why?!" she shouted.
"Ran!" Anabel Wilton noticed Irene’s unstable mood and hurriedly snatched the wine bottle from her hand. "You’re drunk. Let’s go back, okay?"
"Let go of ! Let go!" Irene Spencer struggled violently, raising her hand to point at Vera Wave across the table. "You... what’s so great about you?"
"Miss Spencer is drunk. Help her back!" the director, noticing sothing was amiss, imdiately waved at Daffa Perkin.
Daffa Perkin and another assistant director from the team ca over, helping Anabel Wilton escort Irene Spencer out of the private room.
The director smiled comfortingly at Vera Wave. "Vera, don’t mind her. She’s just had too much to drink."
Vera Wave shrugged. "It’s fine."
It serves her right! Last ti, she dared to pull sothing like that on . I already stopped Kris Cooper from going easy on Irene Spencer. If she doesn’t learn her lesson after one mistake and ends up ruining herself, she’ll have no one to bla but herself—certainly not , Vera Wave.
After Anabel Wilton and a few others brought Irene Spencer back to her hotel room, Irene sat on the couch. She took the juice Anabel handed her to sober up and had two sips, but it tasted intensely bitter.
"What the hell is this stuff? It’s disgustingly bitter!"
"It’s orange juice, for sobering up," Anabel Wilton said, handing her a tissue. "Is it really worth it, all for that young woman? With your looks and status, you could marry any man you desire. Why are you so hung up on Kris Cooper?"
"What do you know?" Irene Spencer tossed the tissue aside and growled, "I love him!"
This was Irene Spencer’s secret, one she had never revealed, not even to Anabel Wilton. She loved Kris Cooper, truly loved him. Closing her eyes, she recalled his handso face, and her heart filled with bitterness.
Anabel Wilton was speechless. In her eyes, Irene Spencer had always seed to be scheming solely to marry into a wealthy family. She had never imagined that Irene genuinely had feelings for Kris Cooper.
"But..." Anabel Wilton walked to the sofa, sat beside Irene Spencer, and comfortingly placed a hand on her arm. "You two... you haven’t really interacted much, have you?"
Having been by Irene Spencer’s side for over a year, Anabel Wilton had watched her climb step by step to her current position. Although Irene Spencer constantly tried to get closer to Kris Cooper, his responses to her had always been lukewarm at best.
Where did this love even co from?!
"Don’t ask what you shouldn’t!" Irene Spencer opened her eyes and impatiently pushed Anabel Wilton’s hand away. She rose from the sofa and began pacing the room.
No, she couldn’t just sit by and wait for defeat. She had to find a way to stop Kris Cooper and Vera Wave from being together. What should she do?!
Watching Irene Spencer pace back and forth with a frown, Anabel Wilton frowned as well. "Ran, it’s getting late, and we have outdoor scenes to shoot tomorrow. You’ll be crawling through mud and dirt. You should get so sleep!"
"You go to sleep!" Irene Spencer waved her hand dismissively. "Don’t bother here!"
